You get some good Bethany Shops as you go round Edinburgh, all offer great value for money on furniture and electrics, but this one tops the lot. Its focus remains solely on furniture, but without any shadow of a doubt it is one of Edinburgh's very best charity shops.
The prices are cheap, although not necessarily the cheapest in the area as you can often get something slightly cheaper at Barnardos just down the road, but although you get about a 30% reduction in price there, that is also coupled with a 60% reduction in quality on those items that are cheaper with similar grade items on a par. If you want the cheaper end of the scale go to Barnardos, but for the higher end come here.
If you have a house or flat that needs furnishing on this side of town this place cannot be beaten (though it can be beaten by the British Heart Foundation on the other side of town). Even a barely furnished flat can for £500 be pretty well kitted out and the sofas start at just under £100 with these being nice sofas and the other furniture roughly holds the same value and quality.
