Beth is alright for basic RMT services but for more advanced services I would recommend a specialist RMT.

This is really an excellent spa, I have been going for quite a while now and always return. I really don't know what they did but when I left symptoms were pretty much gone and I healed completely in a day or two even though the bruise was still present. Thank you so much to all the ladies there, you're great!

As far as Chinatown massage joints go, SJ Wonder Spa, or under their new moniker of Fantasy Spa,…read moreepitomizes this genre of business. Who knows what SJ stood for, but it was after some careful consideration that the new name was chosen, I'm quite sure of that. They are right in the middle of the block, and with a big bright purple sign, very hard to miss. This place was a-buzz with activity when I went and seemed like a local favourite. For the first time, I decided to opt for the reflexology option for my massage experience here, which turns out is a fancy name for foot and lower leg massage. I had a dude for this part, and he was amazing at making my feet feel awesome. Thinking about my feet, it's not something that I felt needs attention, but I was super happy that I spent the extra coin on this option as feet are something that can get taken for granted. First they bring a bucket of hot water to soak them in, and then the guy massages them along with the leg below the knee. Well worth trying out and see how it feels. The massage included some of the back-walking, but wasn't quite as intense as the other experience I had. Since the place was quite busy, there were more distractions making the experience less than ideal. Still quite impressive and worth checking out to see for yourself. The place seemed right out of a movie and unforgettable!

We both wanted Thai massage, but they didn't have two Thai massage therapist at the time we requested. My boyfriend got the Thai massage. He said it was okay, not the best I had the Swedish, which I found uncomfortable. The therapist had long nails and kept on sliding his nails up and down my back actually making me feel tighter in the back as it was a bit uncomfortable. He also was very fast in his technique, with didn't loosen any of my tight muscles. He did try want to work together and do what I liked... but unfortunately when the technique isn't there, it's hard to explain what you want. And the worse part of the massage was that he used a scented oil on me that overwhelmed my scenes. I left there uptight and congested. I don't I would try this place again.

OMG was feeling kinda blue and was searching for hot oil full body (abhyanga) and hot oils head therapy, where they pour hot oils down your head to calm your central nervous system and soothe you to your core (shirodhara)..and I found both here at the aum spa. My therapist Ying was phenomenal to say the least...she lived up to her bio on the spa's website and more! Both treatments were an hour @ $125.00/each and worth every penny! Ahhhhmazing service, I left feeling like I was walking on clouds good! I have already booked my next appointment and can't wait to be back here again... OUT OF THE WORLD EXPERIENCE !

Since I gotta pay out of pocket for massage now, I thought I'd try Chinatown and see how it stands…read moreup against the rmt I've had over the years. I'm no expert but this was possibly shiatsu, although they told me this was Chinese massage, and it was different from the usual rmt in that they press on points as well as the usual moves. I was super happy with the service and value. Also the amount of effort she put into the job. I asked for 45 minutes which is $50 cash and seems a fairly standard price in Chinatown. The pace was much faster than I'm used to and it seemed that I almost got the usual 90 minutes worth in 45. Of course it's not the same, but quite impressive amount of work over the 45 minutes with no downtime or inefficiency. The room was small, clean and quiet, although I went in the evening when it wasn't busy. There was soft Chinese folk guitar twanging playing quietly in the room and the lighting was nice. The white disposable sheet on the table was great. I met two ladies when I went in, and it seemed like they were the only ones there. One was better at English. The one that massaged spoke only Chinese with rudimentary "ok" in English which was fine and I appreciated not wanting to talk. She ended up using the hot towels on my back which felt heavenly. I tipped $20 since that was all I had on my, but felt worth it compared to the usual $156 bill at the clinic with no tip. I'll be back and felt fantastic on the walk home and the next day.

After the soak and 10 Minutes in, came the constant interruptions of my masseuse, tending to other appointments coming in, making phone calls on her cell phone between touching me , talking to other patrons coming in. Did not hear or see the other masseuses cleaning their hands in a span of 5 seconds. Phone by my feet? Way to decompress hah. In the middle of my massage she asked if a male masseuse could replace me so she can tend to what it seem to b another appointment . I declined and then she proceeded to continue and then talk to a second appointment while being on her phone touching her cell phone and my feet. She then told the other man to undress and told him she would be there in 30 Minutes communicating from The other room. I got then moved To another room to complete my second half of the package and she left me there for another good long moment. She came back rushing, violently rubbing me quickly . Absolutely not peaceful at all. Then i said can you go Slower and she went softer. Then she got on the phone again speaking her language out loud massaging me With one hand . I asked her if she could take the call later she continued her call And ignored me and then she hung up and i asked her to stop. Then she kept saying no i will give u longer time i said no just stop . Will only pay for 30 Mins. Then she kept persuading me and i still declined. If u r looking for sanitary peaceful environment then skip this place. If u don't mind the hustle bustle then come on down.

I was encouraged to get the 60 minute Shiatsu massage and bottom line, it's a rub and tug, if you know what I mean. It wasn't Shiatsu at all, they were probably trained on the spot, I could have done better with limited knowledge. Bottom line, if that's your thing , it was probably great, if you want a real shiatsu, Swedish or reflexology treatment, do your research, this isn't it. To be completely fair, I was at another spa close by a while ago for a foot massage and I doubt if it was any different, although I can't prove that, I only had the foot massage. Just an alert to anyone who maybe looking for a real massage, not a rub and tug.

What she lacked in communication, she more than made up for with mad skills in reflexology. Amazing! When I left the spa, I immediately noticed that what felt like a bruise on the bottom of one foot was completely gone. That's something I hadn't experienced before and was very impressive. I asked about the options for combos and when I said, how about the 45/60 min foot/body option for only $10 more than the 30/60, she said "too long" lol, ok I get it. Going by how hard she worked on my feet, that extra 15 minutes would be a killer grind for a measly $10 extra. Sasha was one of the friendliest people I've met in these spas, with a kiss and a hug to send me out into the winters night, nobody would complain about that kind of send off! Her body massage was top notch and I can highly recommend Nasha, for your muscle relaxation needs.

The Tulum inspired interior transports you to another world as you escape the business of King Street West. The shades of white and beige bring about a sense of calm. Upon entering the space, you are required to take off your shoes. There are shoe racks available to place your shoes. After checking in for my appointment (was early), I sat down in the waiting room to make myself comfortable. My massage therapist came to get me at the scheduled appointment time and she took me to a shared room with multiple chairs (I believe it was called their Tulum room). Luckily, I was the only person who would be in that room during my massage experience. My massage therapist, Amanda, was friendly and personable. We made small talk as she first massaged my hands and forearms. She made her way to my shoulders, back and scalp. A very relaxing experience! Overall, great space to unwind and relax.
