The pastor calls out sin in the world and preaches with a passion that helps to bring the word alive, he also keeps the crowd engaged with some humor. He brings the word of the Bible into modern day and how you can apply it to your every day life. Music is a mixture of songs on the radio and originals, and they are all good! Also, they offer online viewing for when we're not able to make it in person. On our first visit, the pastor was out in the lobby talking with everyone and they are super welcoming to newcomers. I can't imagine going anywhere else! Also, they are Bible and gospel based, which is very important. And they do a lot of community outreach locally and internationally!

Compassion, Humility, Forgiveness, Love, Courage, Hope). Jesus preached a compassionate community and walked and hung with Non Christians. Jesus was kind and welcoming. None of which Pastor John participates. I lived across the street from the church for 9 years and they were far from friendly. They were quite the opposite. My children used the parking lot to ride bikes and play ball and run around. I taught my oldest son to drive in their parking lot. But, when the new pastor, who is the current pastor, John, joined the church, he put a ban on the kids playing there and from my next oldest practicing driving. They didn't even want people walking through their parking lot. But more than that, during Helene, I had a helicopter land in their parking lot to deliver supplies to our immediate community but, when we parked our U-Haul in their parking lot when moving (not during church activities) for a couple of hours they approached us and our children in an angry mob like fashion and threatened to call the cops for trespassing. When our leashed dog barked, obviously, sensing the angry negative energy, to protect us, the pastor stated they would" Kill that dog if he were to attack them" and told us we "are not welcome there". wow! I think they should take the big word friendly off of their homepage until they demonstrate what they preach.

My wife and I were thinking of relocating to Asheville from San Francisco so we took some time to…read morego there over the holidays this winter. We wanted to check out a local church and we really liked West Asheville Pres. The congregation seemed lovely, everyone was very welcoming but we happened to go to was on New Years Day, so there weren't that many people at the service, which I'm sure was a symptom of the new years festivities. The sermon was clear and meaningful and the pastor even delved into some ancient greek for the term "we would have been happy if..." which is always insightful. The music was outstanding, we met one of the women that runs the music there, she had played an exotic string instrument that I can't recall the name of, but it was great. I don't think that Asheville is in the cards for us yet, but if we did move there, this would be our church.
