However the rooms turned out to be very spacious and comfortable and the little upstairs sitting area was very nice. I certainly can't say enough good things about the amazing bbq restaurant and tavern downstairs. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and the food was truly first class. They smoke their meats in a giant smoker behind the tavern so guests can stand on the rear balcony and take in the aromas of smoky bbq deliciousness. But because I wish them absolutely all the best - I MUST tell the world about one of the best Stay-cations I have ever had... I booked a room here last summer to get away by myself for some R&R. I've been looking to book again, and am happy to say that the prices have not gone up. Each room is $139- $149 a night, and is worth e v e r y p e n n y. This is not your typical Bed and Breakfast, nor is it a typical hotel. The gracious owners own an upscale BBQ restaurant downstairs, and run the Inn upstairs. Breakfast is served off their menu down in the restaurant - and was absolutely fantastic. I had a delicious chocolate chip scone and coffee, with spicy breakfast potatoes, eggs, and toast. They were extremely accommodating, and said I could order whatever I pleased. I sat on their back patio all by myself and it was - heaven. The rooms - OH THE ROOMS. You'd be hard pressed to find a hotel this nice anywhere nearby. They were clean, updated, and they spared no expense. There was a separate powder room, a huge luxurious whirlpool tub, and over-sized shower. The bed was large and comfy, and I fell asleep at night to the in-room electric fireplace. There was not one, but TWO flat screen tv's, and a beautiful marble sink/vanity area. The room also included a mini-fridge and a Keurig stocked with Caribou Coffee. The rooms were spic-and-span, and HUGE. There is even access to the shared back-porch. The inn-keepers were friendly and offered to give me suggestions of what to do in the area. Head down a few blocks to the main street and you will find plenty to do. There is also a wonderful winery about 8 minutes away called Chankaska Creek. If the guest book in the room is any indication, I am not the only one who has enjoyed my stay at the Konsbruck. It felt like a luxury to even be standing in that bathroom. I have been day-dreaming about returning ever since I left!!

The Grand Stay is a smallish midwestern chain and there happened to be on in town so I grabbed a room for a few nights Small but nice lobby greets you as you walk in and the attentive fellow behind the desk got me squared away with a room in short order. I was up on the third floor so hopped the elevators and headed up. Elevator arrived and operated in the normal amount of time - so all good. Room was nicely appointed and clean. Bathroom was good sized, well lit and functional. Hot water was hot. There is a large indoor pool available, but I did not have the time to do anything there. They offer a free breakfast in the morning but to be honest, it was very basic. Coffee was decent however. The building is situated on the edge of a strip mall and there is an Italian sports bar there if you feel the need to grab something to eat and watch the game. Parking lot was a bit small and cramped, but got the job done. Overall a solid 3-star hotel and I would stay here again if in the area.

I was given a room on the first floor, which I usually avoid because that's the floor with customers with dogs, and you'll be surprised by how often I've been bitten or harassed by fleas. Still, I rolled the dice, especially since it was a hearing-assisted room with a doorbell flasher, which my staff used when visiting my room. They were unaware that such a thing even existed until i texted them, "I'm in room ____, when you arrive, please press the doorbell. It will flash inside my room, and I'll know to come to the door." Also, this is the first hotel I've encountered in years that had closed captions turned on, and usually I have to ask for them because hotels hide the remote control. The staff was friendly, but i had limited interaction with them. I tend to use the Hilton app, which bypasses the entire "You're talking, but I'm Deaf" conversation. The app lets you share the key with whoever is staying with you, and you can hide the room number. Plus, checking out is as simple as tapping the option. On a side note, if you need to use the restroom and you're not too fond of rest areas or truck stops, hotels like Home2, Hampton, and Holiday Inn are good, safe options for first-floor public restrooms. They should all be cleaner than the initial options mentioned above, and I know this Home2 was very clean.

I'm a Hilton Diamond Member and my expectations for the breakfast experience is not too high for a Home 2 Suite Hotel but this location was the exception. There were cream Danish pastries that were very tasty and dramatically upgraded the breakfast experience. We stayed 3 days at this hotel and I was disappointed the pastries were not available on the 3rd day but the lady(Christy) that supported the breakfast area overheard me mention no pastries available and she actually baked some for me. This was very appreciative and made our stay even more special. I would strongly recommend this location,
