We were constantly bothered by the staff, making us adhere to absurd rules. On one evening, as there is no restaurant in the hotel, we ordered something to be delivered. They told us we weren't allowed to eat it in the hotel. There were three of us in the room, and we were not given a second key. So we left the key at reception. We were then told that we HAD to pick up our key before 10 that evening because they would not be there. Then we were told that we "better not be loud when we return". On my last day there one of my friends I was sharing a room with was having a sleep in the afternoon. I came to the hotel with a coffee in my hand, so i sat at a table outside our room in the hallway and let him nap. I was told "under no circumstance was i allowed to sit or drink a coffee here". I asked what the table was for, if not for sitting at with two chairs next to it. I was told, "hotel asthetic". The staff are simply rude and unhelpful and unkind. We felt like we were stepping on eggshells and were never welcome. The room was clean, no fridge and when we asked if we could chill a bottle of wine somewhere else, they told us that better be a joke. I asked for an iron to iron a shirt, and was told "this is not a laundromat". They are condescending and unwelcoming and simply unkind people. Bayreuth is so beautiful and the town is so charming. And the Festspiele is simply incredible. But under NO circumstances should you stay in this hotel. They are terrible proprietors and i would not recommend this hotel under any circumstances. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE. You will have a better trip as a result

The mini-bar is filled with FREE drinks and the beds are very comfortable. The included breakfast is a large buffet with everything from delicious breakfast meats to pancakes, eggs and bacon. The only BIG downside is the parking. They do have a parking garage, but it is mostly lift-parking, which only works for cars under 1.45m height. They have some other spots, but they go quickly, which left us (with a small, but too high car) having to drive around, trying to find parking in an area that is mostly residential parking with a local permit or paid 2 hour limit parking (works over night since they on't charge then, but you can't pre-pay for the next day when they start charging at 8am). This is what keeps them for 5 stars, but otherwise it's a great hotel.
