Pay him if you wanna be insulted by him so then he can deny and lie about it later. I had a…read moredisgusting experience with Jason One Timer when I called him on November 12, 2024, around 10:55pm to learn more about his bar prep program. When I reached out, I expected a professional and supportive conversation, but I was instead met with hostility and aggression, which left me feeling disrespected. Throughout the 13-minute conversation, I felt verbally assaulted and was shocked by his reaction to my simple, straightforward questions. (P.S. I am not a sensitive person) I asked about the program structure and how he prepares students, especially with recent changes in the state bar exam, mentioning that a few top students from my school who took OneTimer program didn't pass. I was curious if recent exam changes could explain the results or impact this particular bar exam and maybe that's why our top law students did not pass this time. However, he took my question personally like an insecure person. He started yelling at me that I am tired of people like you telling me just because they did not pass the bar it's because Jason did something wrong and blah blah blah...He talked badly of his students, saying I looked at her essay and I don't know why she "bombed her essay." Why don't you go ask them?! Despite his raised voice, I remained calm, trying to validate his points, but he wouldn't even let me finish my sentence. When I asked how he prepares students for the MBE section and whether his program included video explanations like Themis or Barbri, he became even more enraged, accusing me of daring to compare his course to others. I apologized and explained that I was just trying to determine which program best fits my needs. He got crazy again then yelled, "I don't even want you to sign up for my program. Go sign up with them then come back crying about how terrible they were." My fiancé called him today to address the way he spoke to me, especially considering the vulnerability and stress students face during bar prep. However, Jason denied everything and claimed I had been rude, which wasn't true, as my fiancé kept telling him that he was next to me during the conversation and could confirm that I wasn't being rude at all. Jason just didn't like my questions. Therefore, if he's willing to lie even when he knows my fiancé was present, I'm sure he's lying to others as well by claiming I was rude to justify his unstable behavior. I feel sorry for those who still choose to work with him, especially when there are negative reviews. Google his name and see it yourself. If he can't handle a few simple questions from a potential client, I can't imagine how he would treat you during the course. Preparing for the bar exam is already challenging, and I was looking for a program that could provide support, not add to my stress. His defensive and confrontational attitude, especially when faced with basic, relevant questions, made me seriously question his suitability as an instructor. If this type of behavior doesn't bother you, then by all means, pay him to insult and belittle students. I just wanted to share my experience so you can make an informed choice about what you're getting into. Oh, by the way, when I shared my experience with the Dean of our law school, they even called Jason personally to inform him that he is not welcome at our school at any time, especially since he had planned to come to campus to collect payments from students who had signed up. Hopefully, by sharing my experience, he learns his lesson and treats others better to prove me wrong.

Our son started working with Jeffrey the August before his Junior year to prep for the SATs. He had tested well on his practice test and had very high goals for himself - wanting to achieve over a 1500 and we all knew he had the ability to get there. Jeffrey worked weekly with our son from August to March, as he was taking the official SAT Nov and March test dates. Jeffrey was super thorough, flexible if we needed to change times or dates, and an extremely outstanding teacher and fantastic person. Our son enjoyed the weekly lessons, tips and tricks from Jeffrey's vast experience and our son kept improving with every practice test and real test ultimately achieving his goal with the March SAT test. We were all thrilled. It was a pleasure having Jeffrey in our home every Sunday and we are so thankful and grateful for his mentorship. We told him if he was still at it in 4 years when our daughter was ready to prep for the SATs, we'd be calling upon his services again! Academic Achievers was also super helpful, checking up on us during the experience and making sure we knew they were there for us as well. We have recommended them to all who've asked about our experience!

I generally don't make the effort to write reviews, but this is a special circumstance. I am utterly indebted to Chris Peckover and could not be more appreciative of his help. He is simply a fantastic instructor. He will push you with your homework, target your weak areas, answer any questions that you have and help in any way possible. Chris is a GMAT expert and will hold you to the same standards. If you need to improve your GMAT score and you're in the Los Angeles area, it would be massively helpful to work with Chris. It took a ton of work on both Chris' and my end, but we were able to bring my score up to a 710. This would absolutely NOT have been possible without Chris' help. I am so thankful that Manhattan Prep paired me up with him. I was recently at an MBA admissions event (at a top school) and the admissions panel announced to the entire audience, which consisted of roughly 300 hopeful students, that if you need help on the GMAT, seek Chris Peckover from Manhattan Prep (I was very excited when I heard his name). Yes, he really is that good. I am sure that students in his classes would agree with everything I have mentioned above, but I feel that I am especially qualified to review Chris because I hired him as a private tutor through Manhattan Prep. This was certainly expensive (on an hourly basis), but for me the cost of not having that extra help and custom curriculum would have been too great. My score increase would simply not have been possible without Chris. He designed a study program for me that was effective and efficient. Although it is expensive, Chris is genuinely a great person and does not want you to overspend. He was consistently giving me advice that limited the number of tutoring hours I needed and from the beginning, he made it clear that I needed to work as hard as possible outside of the tutoring hours so that I would need less of them. If you feel like you need a tutor, I would highly recommend that you call Manhattan Prep and request Chris Peckover. Hopefully he is available!

The in-person class was super helpful and something I recommend if you can afford it. If you're deciding between the online class and the in-person class, some of that should honestly be based on how well you can self-regulate. However, the instructor makes a huge difference as well. The instructor I had, Chris Peckover, was fantastic and made it worth the effort to go to class and of course the extra cost. He made the material a lot more accessible by giving alternative methods to approaching problems and had no issue explaining things again or trying it from different approaches. I definitely appreciated that he was really positive and pushed us to work hard as well. You could tell that he cares a lot about teaching and is invested in your success as well. It comes across in the class and is a helpful motivator. Hard to imagine a better GMAT instructor.

As I hail from Calabasas, and was curiously, unusually, and randomly studying in Santa Monica, I will forever consider meeting Jodi the universe's want and the stars aligning. Our casual small talk blossomed into a friendship and mentorship that has allowed me access to new opportunities, the discovery of a strength and belief in myself that was lacking priorly, and access to the hands-down most personalized, sincere, dedicated, charismatic, and intelligent "college counselor" (she is above and beyond a college counselor to me, but an invaluable guidance) imaginable. Jodi and Aureus Prep are entirely devoted to their students. What you want and aim to achieve is their foremost priority. Jodi prepared me for the college realm, and its application to real life situations. She gave me a realistic understanding of what my academics and extra curricular a had to offer to the colleges of my interest, while fostering a personal challenge to aim higher than I would have thought I could achieve. In the end, with Jodi and AP's help, devotion, and support I was admitted to every school of my choice. The endless hours with Jodi of revising, reviewing, and deciding curated not only an successful college profile and a seriously overwhelmed high school senior, incredibly grateful for her choices, but also a constant support-system, friend, and mentor in my moments of panic and bliss. I am honored to be an alumna of Jodi and AP. As an upcoming sophomore at the University of Southern California studying International Relations and Global Business, I can contently, truly, and highly, highly, highly recommend Jodi and AP for your college advisement. Thank you endlessly and eternally Jodi and AP for your guidance throughout the process... You are truly the best of the best.

This was compounded by the added complexity of applying to the music schools within all of these universities. We can't thank her and her team enough. He has already been accepted and several of his top choice schools.
