On several occasions, I have been…read moreharrassed by people begging, especially at the bus station in Guild Street and it can be quite intimidating if you are on your own. Once, one of the officers came over and had words with one man who had walked round several times and he left immediately. The officer told me to let them know if I had any problems again. I have spoken to them a couple of times since, once because one of the beggers got abusive and was shouting horrible things at anyone within earshot. An officer came over and they were promply escorted from the station.

There is only one window to be served at in this post office, and it is usually the person who is working the till for the garage who is also working the post office, so if there are other people getting served paying for their petrol then you will have to wait your turn at the post office window until they are free to serve you. When the post offive is closed, you can still buy posting materials, cards etc from the Somerfield checkouts which is hands if you are buying in advance of posting.
