I consider Scott and Stacy to be two of the most ethical and authentic attorneys that I've ever been lucky enough to work with. Scott has been a trusted professional friend of mine for 6 years as well as dependable employment legal counsel in both good and bad situations. Listening is such a crucial process when determining legal courses of action. Scott and Stacy are both impeccable listeners. Their ability to gather all the pertinent details, as well as their ability to provide objective and mature soundboarding enable them to be at the top of their industry. The outcome of their efforts has been 100% positive for me. Once you have engaged with this legal team, you will not only sleep better; but, you will quickly begin to feel confident in making better decisions about your legal employment decisions. Scot and Stacy are equally effective in helping professionals like me before we enter into employment agreements. Imagine the hours and dollars saved by entering into healthy and legal agreements, versus having to fight for past wages? This is well worth the effort to engage Scott and Stacy during an employment offer period. I highly recommend Berman North to any California employees and employers who want to be protected by the best of the best in California employment law. read more

I recommend Scott and Berman North wholeheartedly. Scott provided me with helpful and thoughtful council during an employment matter. He was thorough in his inquiry and examination of the situation. Several avenues were explained with both pros and cons presented so that I was able to make the choices that were best for me. When having to make choices about your personal situation it can be nerve wracking and scary. Scott was not only my legal council but also willing to just listen as I worked out my feelings and decisions. read more

I approached Stacy North about an employment case. She looked into my case right away and asked me for the needed documentation. She followed with additional questions and then drew the conclusions. Even though I was disappointed that the result was that the damages would be too limited to pursue the case, I was impressed with her fast response and willingness to analyze my case, and provide me with solid response. In contrast, other attorneys did not ask for necessary documentation nor asked the right questions, and dismissed it w/o looking at the merit just because their profit seemed on surface tool low and leaving me "in the air" weather I should put more time into it. Should I need help from an attorney in the future, I know that Stacy North is the one I will approach. read more

I was recently represented on a critical matter by Scott Berman and am grateful for his counsel and quality legal work. Figuring out that you need a lawyer is not a good feeling. I was anxious, frustrated, and confused at my situation. The short version; I was running a business and had the good fortune to receive an offer to purchase it. In the course of running my business, I had been working with a service provider for over two years (software development, QA, automation) and I briefed them on the possibility that we might be purchased. This was a *mistake*. The owner of that service provider knew that this was an opportunity. He decided to withhold services, disrupting my business. He hired a lawyer who wrote a later laced with what I would, even now that it is a settled matter, describe as objectively outlandish. The ultimate gist was a claim that we were in breach of our agreement with his firm. It happened so quickly, I was just shocked (and angry). This would definitely put the purchase of our business at risk. Everything I had been working for was suddenly at risk. I contacted Scott Berman and he listened, closely. He asked excellent questions. He paged in quickly to what might be happening. He helped to spell it out for me. And then he came up with a plan. As the plan unfolded, there were twists and turns. My anxiety and my anger often wanted to get the best of me. Scott didn't let that happen. While he was my advocate, and he always let me know that he would serve me, he routinely helped me to stay focused on the goals that I had, to remember that certain actions have risks and potential consequences, and to keep me on plan. It's been about 7 months since this matter has settled. And it's with perspective that I realize how glad I am that I contacted Scott Berman to help me. He helped me to reasonably resolve this dispute, before it reached a court of law, and allowed the sale of my business to go through. I highly recommend Scott for his prompt work, his thoughtful explanations, his ability to anticipate how opposing counsel and an opposing claimant might respond and to help me navigate key decisions for my business during an incredibly stressful time. read more

I approached Stacy about a simple employment case. It took 2 minutes to realize how confused about the law she was. It was stunning. What was insulting was how she covered her incompetence with arrogance and puerile dismissiveness. Early symptoms of questionable ethics ended our relationship quickly and I cannot be more grateful for it. I would not recommend this lawyer. read more
