OK, I am still a teacher with Berlitz but I accept only limited assignments from them because of several factors:
First, they put together people with very different language skills. This is by design. They need five students to make the profit they want.
Second, the office staff (one can hardly call them management) does not understand even the basics of CSM, customer service management, or CRM, customer relationship management. On several occasions, the director had no idea that certain corporate groups had ended and had been offered no renewal or that certain customers were unhappy. Additionally, none of the customers have ever been thanked for their continued business.
Finally, they pay the teachers slave wages. When you pay between EUR60 and EUR100 for each unit, realize your teacher is only receiving between EUR15-EUR25 epending on the language. When they put you in a group of strangers, you can do the math on the profit margin. In my mind, you are not getting the quality you deserve for that amoun of money.
So, in the end, I kept the customers I wanted who rely on me completely for their English and I walked away. I am what is called eine alte Hase. I don't have the energy to train young managers why they should say thank you. read more
