Very active community, lots of youth and family projects (walk for hunger, first saturday of the month soup kitchens, habitat for humanity, interfaith events, welcome-back-from-hajj dinners, annual banquets, iftars, weekend school, halaqas, women's swim nights). The president (Dr. Mansoor) is the most down-to-earth, nice guy you'll ever meet. The mosque also encourages political involvement of the congregation and engages local senators/representatives so our voices are heard. Beautiful prayer area, clean wudu areas. Iftars and stuff are usually held in the basement. Jumuah prayers are serene, not crowded, and everyone who attends is VERY friendly. Very convert-friendly masjid as well. Close involvement with the Muslim Coalition of CT which drives most of these awesome initiatives. read more
