What kind of taxi in this century does not have EZPass? And also refuses to allow you to use your own EZPass for an airport trip? Anybody who has crossed the RFK/Triboro bridge realizes that the CASH toll lane will usually take 15 minutes, vs. the zero delay for EZPass, not to mention that the EZPass toll for MTA bridges is Cash. $6.50.(E-ZPass=$4.80) and the GWB Cash Toll is $8 (E-ZPass is $6) - so the taxi is charging you more and slowing your ride unnecessarily. Their drivers are frequently unreachable to the dispatchers so they cannot be located when your pickup is 15 minutes late for the airport - the drivers have no hands-free devices for their cell phones, they have no GPS, have sub-par driving prowess and surly attitudes. Their only redeeming feature is that their rates are on the low side, but it will end up costing you far more when you miss the 60 minute baggage checking cut-off time because of the reasons outlined above. I really hate to be this harsh towards drivers but I view these as BTS management problems for not mandating required equipment for their staff. These are all readily correctable problems, if only the owners were not (no pun intended) asleep at the wheel. read more
