The amount of inspiring material in this large bookshop is close to unbelievable; rows and rows, shelves and shelves of books about anything and everything having to do with both historical and modern visual culture. Graphic designers will find their entire bookshelf toolkit here - with books ranging from typography to layouts, corporate identity to portfolios. Illustrators will find hard to find artist portfolios and illustration compilations from all over the world. Photographers will find books ranging from portfolios to mastering the digital darkroom, history of photography to books on every stream of photographic art. Sautter + Lackmann is easily a place to lose yourself in, so make sure you have at least an hour of your free time. They close on weekdays at 19:00, don't take credit cards, and accept EC for purchases over 15eu. Trust me, this is for your own good. I arrived about 30 min before close before I had to travel to the next town the following day, so not too much time. I could have spent many wonderful hours here. Till next time!

I am rating that bookshop depending on its english books…read more Well to be honest ... if you cant read german, or just want to buy an english book, then this bookshop shouldnt be ur sole option. they have excatly 10 english books... these are the books of their "top 10" . Their top 10 is also a bit out of date, since i have read all 10 books at least a year ago... I think id stick to thalia or just order online from amazon Otherwise they sell a lot of german books, german magazines, postcards, chocolate, drinks... So if ur looking for english books/magazines save yourself the trip, otherwise... you might find something there
