It felt very unsafe due to the extreme crowds and the constant pressure from people asking for money. Carrying a purse or personal belongings was nerve-racking the entire time. This is not a place I would recommend for shopping, especially if you're not familiar with the area or traveling with valuables. However, there are many other great stores one street before you reach San Juan de Dios with plenty of options to browse and shop in a much calmer environment. I strongly recommend going there instead.

What was behind the door was 180 degrees from what is on the outside. Surprise, they had a large open setting with a cool vibe bar and several different seating zones. We sat in the covered patio area that was breezy. The train going by sounds like we were on the track. We ordered two appetizers, the spring rolls with peanut dipping sauce and tuna tacos with sauce. The spring rolls lack a real herb punch and were a bit bland. The tuna tacos were delicious with a real flavor blast from the sauce. One must try the tuna tacos. For dinner we ordered the Pad Thai with shrimp. This was over sauce and appeared that the sauce was poured over the dish once assembled. It was definitely not a meal I would order again. The grilled shrimp with Thai spices and a small side salad was better. The vibe is very chill and a bit eclectic. The dishes were either hit or miss. I did not enjoy the chain smoker we were seated next to as that has not happened in years. A drink or appetizers here may be a good stop at I Latino.
