I don't like it how after mass the kids swarm the priest to sign off on their mass attendance forms (for whatever it is for). Can't he delegate that to someone else so that I don't have to clamor for a handshake on the way home? Mass is efficient and the music selection is adequate. I like how no one forces you to hold hands during the Lord's Prayer, but I don't like the applause at the end if every mass. For the last 4 months I have tried to find a church. I tried over half a dozen churches many of which were recommended by co-workers or Yelp. The churches I went to were either too exclusive, predominately older in age, or not very warm and welcoming. However, this was a different church. The warm welcoming committee drew me in. Even though it was raining they all had smiles and were very excited that a newcomer (myself) had found their church. Upon walking in, the church lights were off with side purple and blue lights on. It was a medium size congregation (100+) which was predominately youth with young adults and families with small children. The perfect demographic for me. They had a live band play modern Christian praise and worship. Good topic focused message with supporting verses with a very passionate pastor. One con was that service is a bit long (2hours) starting at 11am. However, I was told today was a special long service. Overall, I wish I knew about this church 4 months ago. It's a great church passionate about Jesus. Has a great youth/Sunday school program with cell Groups (small groups) that meet weekly and do life together. Though I knew no one walking in, the people who welcomed me during the beginning of the service found me and introduced me to her cell group leader. That's when I knew this is my new church home.

I've only had to call twice, and both times the experience was unfortunately unpleasant. Given that this is a place of faith and community, I expected a more polite and respectful interaction. I'm sharing this feedback not to complain, but in the hope that it helps improve the experience for others in the future.

This quote from A.W. Tozer well describes Calvary Chapel Santa Maria. The entire Word of God is taught verse-by-verse. No passages are skipped over. Additionally, CCSM is committed to reaching the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus' command in Matthew 28:19 was to 'make disciples and teach them all that He commanded.' Again, CCSM fulfills this mandate. Come hear the Gospel, and grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
