History
Established in 1970.
Nearly 50 years ago, Jim Sim Benton opened a new business in Salado showcasing Jim's jewelry designs and paintings, Bentons Gallery. His attention to customer service, a great eye for unique jewelry designs, and his beautiful artwork quickly made him a staple in the Salado artist community. In 1999, Bob, at the age of 16, began working for Jim and his wife Ann and over time, Bob became more of an apprentice to Jim, learning skills in not only the production but the design of fine gold jewelry making. Eventually, Bob began co-managing Bentons and learning more about running a business from Jim. Bob will be the first to admit the experience and knowledge he received from Jim is priceless. In November of 2018, Jim and Ann sold Bentons to Bob and Laura Hargrove. They intend to offer the same level of customer service and the highest level of craftsmanship that is synonymous with Bentons. Bentons is the oldest jewelry store as well as one of the longest operating businesses in town.

We are a husband and wife duo who love creating one-of-a-kind, wearable works of art for our clients! We love the jewelry business because we get to be a small part of people's celebrations - engagements, weddings, anniversaries, new family additions...the list goes on! We also love to redesign heirloom jewelry so that the person it was passed down to can wear it as another way to remember their loved one. We would love to meet you and design a piece just for you!
