The fact that I didn't have to hover over my squirmy Toddler for 39-45 minutes; shoving lollipops down his throat, breaking out into song and dance/full on theatrical performances, etc. (Any and every rewarding, redirection, distraction, tactic known to Mom), is huuuuge. Shoot for me, that in and of itself is reason enough to look no further! So in addition to completely taking over (which is often needed in situations such as this) and making my Son feel comfortable in the process, Jay had us in/out within 15-20 minutes tops AND he gave my Son the best haircut he's ever had!! (We've been to several other places in the past and never have I been so happy with the final results as I was after this visit). I literally couldn't ask for more. Additional Bonuses: *Convenient hours *Scheduling the appointment was a breeze; as Jay was very accommodating. (He got us in the day of and within hours). *Follows/Reinforces COVID safety procedures. (Jay informed me of his mask/temp taking policy in advance). *Very friendly- Aside from being good with children, he was very friendly with myself & Hubby; as he not only took the time to share some styling and product tips. But also offered us a sample of the product used on my Son. Overall just a really nice guy. (A really nice no nonsense dry sense of humor type of guy. The building that is connected to the shop looks condemned and the windows were all busted and boarded up. When I walked in none of the barbers spoke very good English so that wasn't very helpful either. Then there was one barber who had an empty chair, of course this was probably the new guy so I did not want to have my hair cut by him but the other barbers insisted that he was a good barber and that I should let him give me a cut. So I asked only for only a line up instead of a haircut. I then received a huge gash on the side of my head, not only that my hairline was pushed back and uneven. The barber paid absolutely no attention to my haircut, he was dancing around and talking spanish to the other barbers the whole time, practically arguing with them.
