Fish & chips are one of those great English treats that you can't go without. You might worry about getting too fat from eating too much of it too often, but don't worry at all, because Ben's is situated right by the Lickey Hills; so you can easily walk off your meal afterwards!
But before you go for your hike up the hills, Ben's is here to fill your stomach with some delicious, perfectly cooked chips in large portions. Prices are average to most fish & chip shops, and you can pick up a cone for £1. So the prices don't increase for the view or anything, which is great! Good old fashioned food at good old fashioned prices.
Evening times, Ben's is packed full of customers, and queues often go out of the doorway; but the staff work hard and proficiently to make sure you're served as quickly as possible. That's unless you order fresh roe of course, which I have done in the past. But then you have to expect to wait around 10 minutes for this to cook. Although I have to admit, the roe was quite dry and a little overcooked on the time I purchased it. Maybe this was just a bad batch, but I always order the cod here now, which is very succulent and full of flavour. read more
