My husband and I were married last June and used Benoit & McCarthy photography. Because I booked somewhat late their regular photographers were unavailable but they did set me up with Jonathan Tadliello who turned out to be really great! He and his co-photographer did a wonderful job at our wedding and I absolutely loved our pictures. They came up with some really fun ideas for poses and they didn't miss a moment of the day! They were very professional and imaginative! I am giving them four stars instead of five only because of the price point. read more

We got married last summer at the Beauport hotel in Gloucester and they were recommended by the hotel so we didn't hesitate to book them as we saw an album they had at the hotel and we loved the photos. Fast forward to almost a year later and we still are so unhappy with our entire collection of wedding photos that we still have not been able to pick any we love to give to our families. We felt rushed throughout the entire wedding and as a bride I did not need the added stress. There were so many photos he took on the beach and like 89% of those was everyone squinting and sweating. He did not touch up or clean up any and we both felt like we looked awful. So many candid photos of the reception too that did not flatter my guests or everyone seemed awkward. I just would have expected more from this photographer. It bothers us that the photos he and his wife took highlighted unflattering facial expressions or body angles. I wish he would have spent more time making sure I was looking happier or smiling or at least not looking stiff and awkward in our poses. It is not easy to be photogenic and it is their job to ensure the pictures come out amazing. You can't take the time back and I am so regretful we didn't research this better or go with someone else who was more professional in their photo shoots. Now we are just left with a bunch of photos that every time we look at ourselves we are so unhappy. read more

Selecting the right photographer for your wedding can be one of the MOST stressful decisions, your memories are in there hands. With very little experience in choosing wedding vendors, and limited references, I wanted to make sure the pictures came out great. When I met David and saw his work online- it was a no brainer. His work stood out and I knew I had to book him! Dave was there through for the entire wedding planning experience, answering my questions and suggesting photo locations. The day of my wedding, David and his second photographer, Jen were simply outstanding. They were efficient and gracefully had our large (and a little rowdy!) wedding party organized and focused. They worked with us to determine what we wanted, and even climbed the rocks of the back shore in Gloucester MA to get the perfect shots, with the ocean in the background. Dave went above and beyond and the pictures came out amazing- magazine quality! I would absolutely recommend Benoit and McCarthy to any bride. Our wedding day was the most amazing and special day of our lives. By having the most amazing photographers along our sides made our night less stressful. They took the stress of having to worry about where , when or what photos would look good. They gave us the night in long lasting beautiful pictures. At times I look at the pictures and cant even believe that was our wedding, truly brings happy tears to my eyes. Everyone from Benoit and McCarthy photography is so nice and truly there to help make everything go smooth. If you have been planning your wedding you know how stressful it can be and having them along side of you takes one less stressor out of that equation!!! We used Benoit & McCarthy for our wedding photos - WOW!!! They are SO fantastic. I was not surprised that the photos were so beautiful. When I went to their studio with my parents while looking for a wedding photographer, I was completely impressed by their work - it is so artistic, so carefully done, and so, so beautiful. Meeting and planning with David and Gaby was so easy, and they were always on top of every detail. On the day of the wedding David and Tom did our photography. They were such a pleasure to work with - they were well acquainted with the venue at which we were getting married, so they were quick to make suggestions of locations for photos. They were excellent in directing everyone on how to look their best, for a variety of poses - formal, serious and fun - in a variety of locations. We ended up with LOADS of photos - they gave us a grouping of the 250 best, plus all the rest- now the hard part is choosing which ones we wan to put into an album book! I cannot recommend these photographers any more highly - they were probably the best people we worked with for our whole wedding - from start to finish they were a joy to work with and really care about the work that they do. True professionals, and now we have the most gorgeous photos to last us a lifetime. read more

We absolutely LOVED working with Gaby! She was so fantastic during our engagement shoot and got some of the most amazing photos of us with our very uncooperative dog that we had high expectations for the wedding and she completely blew us away! Gaby has the ability to take what looks like a typical wedding photo and totally transforms it so that the final product is completely unique and special to you. She captured our event in such a breathtaking way that we cannot rave enough about her services!! Always professional, she isn't afraid to get on the ground to get the best angles and even cracks jokes while shooting that kept the entire wedding party entertained! She also turns photos around so quickly that we were able to use our favorite photos on thank you cards. We are very excited that we chose to have an album made by Gaby because we know she will make a very special keepsake for us. We selected Benoit photography for our wedding last fall and it was one of the most important and best decisions we made! I really wanted someone who could get the shots that not just any relative with a good camera could get without charging me for all the extra bells and whistles. John was easy to work with, professional, fairly priced, and the pictures were amazing. Some of the shots looked like a professional magazine cover! He provides lighting which makes all the difference, really knows his angles and lighting, and was able to capture the day without interfering with the moment.
