I scheduled two separate appointments specifically to meet with the attorney. For the first appointment, after traveling to the office, I was informed upon arrival that she would not be meeting with me because she was at home with her sick son. For the second appointment, I took time off work and drove approximately 3 1/2 hours for a scheduled Monday meeting, only to be told upon arrival that she had left town. The most concerning issue occurred after my scheduled mediation. I had not received any updates, so I contacted the office and was informed by the assistant that the mediation had been canceled. Initially, I assumed the cancellation had come from opposing counsel, but I later learned that my own attorney had canceled it. I was not consulted before the cancellation and was not notified in advance. The explanation provided was that mediation could not proceed without formal discovery. At that point, I was asked to provide an additional $10,000 retainer. The lack of communication regarding such a significant decision left me feeling that my interests were not being adequately represented so I decided to start fresh. I found Natalie Wallace who worked through the weekend to meet deadlines that had to be met. She is amazing and I highly recommend her. Every client's experience is different, but based on my experience, I was disappointed with the communication, the handling of scheduled meetings, and the cancellation of mediation without my prior knowledge.
