Too high!!!! A simple garbage disposal quote $900!! I think not. I liked the plumber though, he was just plugging in what their prices are. Went to box store and having them install too. read more

Benjamin Franklin The Punctual Plumber - Proposed cost quote for garbage disposal! - Plumbing Near Me - Phenix City, Alabama

Michael and Juan, are very intelligent and all-around knowledgeable this crew is excellent. I was unaware that my brother had used their services once before due to some plumbing issues. However, we called Benjamin Franklin on March 5th, and I was quoted a fair price that beat four other overpriced competitors. Michael and Juan returned on the 6th and replaced the hot water tank. Their work was very clean and professional throughout the process, going in and out of our home. They both were so courteous, well-mannered, well-groomed, and very friendly. They also confirmed things to provide us with clear explanations of their steps until the job was complete. They replaced parts that would provide a better, more efficient home for me and my "Big Samoan Family." I highly recommend using Benjamin Franklin. Michael and Juan, you guys are AWESOME! Thank you for being so culturally knowledgeable. Angie & Larry Walker read more

I have used this company 3 times now and each experience is better than the last. The last 2 technicians were super great to work with. Both were very informative and knowledgeable about what they were doing. the two techs i am talking about were Micheal Bulloch and Jaun Gomez. if these two techs are any example of who I would use in the future I would hope for them in a heart beat. great job guys. Nope! They damaged my house so that water comes in the basement now, they did not put the toilet back in place after they replaced the old cast iron piping. Seven months later and I still do not have a toilet installed in my basement. They also cracked the drainage pipe from my tub. They refuse to make it right but lie and say they will. They will ghost you and not respond to your calls. I now have water coming into my basement and causing toxic mold because of their destruction, and my basement did not leak before they came and screwed my house up. One star rating is way too generous, but negative ten was not an option. If you value your home, steer clear of these thieves!! read more

Professional company with knowledgeable plumbers. I've used them several times & they are my top recommendation despite price. Worthwhile to have piece of mind & know the issue will be corrected properly. read more

I live in NJ and own rental properties in AL. I needed someone to identify why the bathroom toilet was running and leaking and fix the problem. The technician who was super friendly was also a liar. He said he made the repair and charged me over $2K. My tenant took pictures and I found out he did not do any of the repairs he claimed. The office refunded us only a portion of the money. read more

We are new in this area. Called Ben Franklin Pluming regarding installation of water line for ice maker. The plumber came to our home and gave an estimate for the work. We had been Franklin do the work. The plumber was knowledgeable about the work he was doing. Instructed my husband and how to turn the system on and off. And to call if we experienced any problems. I recently reached out to Benjamin Franklin company to come out to my house after I had issues with my water heater not getting hot. I was initially told it was $39 for them to diagnose, but then was charged $165 for the diagnostic fee. They turned my breaker on and off and said the problem was fixed, however my water heater is still not getting hot. Don't waste your time and money!!! read more

I asked about some pricing for looking at a garbage disposal leak and they were extremely high since it is the weekend and I didn't like the prices at all but the clerk hung up the phone on me. This was just a few minutes ago. They were over priced years ago and I see they haven't changed. I just don't know why businesses treat people so poorly during communications. read more

Lesson learned: never pay for an estimate from a company that refuses to provide even a ballpark guesstimate for a standard service over the phone. I paid $39 to get an estimate from Ben Franklin, and their quote to install two toilets I had already purchased was $957, and that's if the flange was in good shape (if not, it was going to be an extra $537) which you can only see after you remove the old toilet. The plumber told me that they normally charge $200 for providing a supply line when the supply line is not included with the toilet, which ours was not. I later looked up supply lines, and they cost like $5 from Home Depot. (For comparison's sake, other ballpark estimates I got over the phone were $280 to install both toilets from one plumber and $360 to install both toilets from another plumber.) The only reason I had Ben Franklin come first was because the other plumbers seemed like they didn't want to wear a mask. With BF, I was initially told they always wear masks and was later told they will if the customer requests it. I also was initially told they only send licensed plumbers and when I tried to confirm that, the woman told me, "I don't know. I just answer the phones," and wouldn't tell me the name of the person they were sending so I could look up to confirm he was licensed. That was a waste of an hour of my time and an unnecessary risk I didn't need to take of having an additional person in my house. My take is that this company is preying on customers who have no idea what plumbing services typically cost. read more

We had a water heater issue that caused a leak from our attic into our bathroom, within about 2 hours of calling them they were out and fixed it. Very happy I chose them. read more

I have now used them twice, and both times i was desperate. They are very polite, considerate, informed and honest. Major plumbing work is expensive thats just how it is, and maybe there are cheaper ones but i feel valued as a customer and they do good work. Nothing is free and if someone is selling or giving something free they are either stealing it from someone else or getting over on you on something else. I recommend them for homeowner plumbing work. read more

Wouldn't use them again if they were the last plumbers on earth. Would give ZERO stars if possible. Paid $189 for a valve stem replacement on water faucet at well water pump. Never repaired or replaced it. They rigged it and just stuck it back in. Found out when shutting off well water pump to change the filter. Not to be trusted. Avoid at ALL cost. read more

Had them do an extensive replacement of existing plumbing and installation of a tankless hot water heater. Their work was complete and thorough with clear explanations each step of the way. The project was not cheap but I firmly believe you get what you pay for. We received an accurate estimate prior to agreeing to the job. read more

I cannot begin to tell you how pleased I am with Cody Pergason! He came at 9pm and assessed the problem. Needed equipment but returned promptly (considering I live in Cusseta GA). It is now 4:30am and he is finishing the job with absolute perfection! There has never been a time in my life that I've been more impressed with the knowledge and professionalism as I have been tonight. He is an amazing asset to your company and I hope his efforts are recognized and rewarded. read more

B. Franklin plumbing was called to look at a leaking bathroom faucet. This was for my elderly aunt who is 90 years old. The service person said that the faucet should be replaced and it would cost $700. She chose not to have them do replacement. I went to look at it and as a non-plumber who works in an office, I replaced an o-ring and fixed the slight leak. It took 15 minutes and a 10 cent part. This company tried to take advantage of an older woman. That is reprehensible in my mind!! Do not use this company! read more

So our plumbing to the entire house that we rent completely backed up. Our landlords were out of town and asked us to call these guys because they are the most reputable. Wow! Great job! They cleared the lines and all was good for a couple of days. The lines became backed up again and they came back out (at 11 at night) with no charge to us. They are awesome! 2 thumbs up! read more

I recently had two jobs completed by Ben Franklin. Both were absolute wonderful experiences. The customer service I received when I called and spoke to Kristen was great as well as that of Joana, the second time I called. I had a shower head repair and a toilet fill valve replaced, both of which I can not complain about the work and the price could not be beat! I will use them again! read more

Thomas W. was the plumber who fixed, and replaced the deteriorating plumbing at my house today. He was prompt, did a quality job, and at a great price. I appreciate the same day service too. I would recommend Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, Columbus, GA to anyone who needs a plumber, or any of their other services. read more

My plumbing issue was pretty small. Just a dripping faucet in the tub.I was quoted from the Ben Franklin book the very prompt plumber was carrying, $685 to replace the fixture. He said it would take two hours and the part was about $40. $685 is about one weeks take home pay. That $320 an hour. Very nice but WAY over priced. Can't say I'd ever dial their number again. read more

Thomas and the Ben Franklin team did an amazing job. They showed up quickly and worked tirelessly until the job was complete-which was saying a lot given the weather. Thomas went non-stop until the job was done. I'd recommend to others given his & the team's work ethic and talents. We'll certainly use in the future should we ever need plumbing assistance, and felt fortunate to have them as the ones on site. read more

I was very satisafy with every works Joseph and all the ben franklin assiciates did and I am very greatful.

We called because we had a pressure valve that needed replacing. The plumber came and told me that the pressure valve was ok because the pressure on the outside faucet was fine. He installed the air bubble contraption on top of the water heater for 650 Dollars only to find out that our pipes were still singing. When he opted to open up our walls I called my husband. After a chat with the plumber the pressure valve got replaced for an additional 600 dollars and we were told he gave us a good price because of the experienting he had to do to figure out what was wrong. While here the plumber told me that our water heater is old and he could replace it cheaper because he was already here for another $1200 which of course I declined since we had no problems with the heater. The next day we had no warm water, he conveniently forgot to turn the breaker back on. Coming to find out a few weeks later, we could have had the pressure valve exchanged for $ 100. We just got a water heater replaced on Monday, a year after Benjamin Franklin was here and it cost with installation and taxes and heater less than $800. So believe me Benjamin Franklin will never have our business again or anybody else's if I can help it. read more

i had two projects that i had to get done on the same day i called. Joseph Moore, the plumber that came out, was great. very professional, very expert in his field. i have been so disappointed and ripped off by 2 other local plumbers, one that is an extremely well-known, national company. one of the projects turned out to be more involved than i expected, and it was expensive, but the work was done right, efficiently and when i needed it done. mr. moore worked all day in the heat, but he was polite, patient and understanding of my needs. the office staff in columbus, ga was also very helpful, patient, and worked with me on arranging payment. i would definitely use this company again. i'd rather have to pay a little more, and get the kind of service, professionalism and quality work that this company provided, than ever have to deal with another company that only cares about money and doing a slipshod job. Thank you to Benjamin Franklin Plumbing! read more

This company will overcharge you!! Buyer beware. Do not make the mistake of using this company because the plumbers seem knowledgeable. They use a 'book' and if you ask any questions, you will be referred to the office. There, you will speak with Monique and Ashley who are unprofessional and rude. You will be unable to get any assistance from corporate, as Monique will sharply let you know that this is a franchisee and they 'don't answer to corporate." And if you want to speak with the owner to complain about the way you are being treated, Ashley will rudely tell you she is not giving the owner name or any way to contact the owner. We were quoted $1750.00 to change a water heater, and that went up to $2370.00 to change vent. When we asked for a breakdown, that is when all h** broke loose. Afer Monique rudely told us they could come and get their water heater and we could find another plumber, that's just what we did. He did the job for $1200.00, which included an upgraded water heater. Again, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!! read more
