BENIHANA SALAD
Cyann L.

Service was amazing and food tasted great by the Chef himself. Thought everything was good, our crispy rices were all very hard and bland. It almost felt like you bit into a rock... Aside from that, the chef was super sweet to us and gave us a good show.

I had my birthday certificate but even with that dinner got 2 was almost $100. Service was great and we had a trainee who was great at assisting. The chef was amazing and put on a great show. Food was great and plentiful

We went out to celebrate my husband passing a certification for work. 8 of us in total all on the same bill, to say the least this was not a cheap dinner. We ordered our food and my husband asked if he could get extra veggies instead of rice because He is diabetic. We were told that management needed to be asked permission to do this. When the waitress came back she said that they can't do this. This was really disappointing that this accommodation could not be met especially because of my husband's dietary restriction and the fact that are bill would be in the hundreds of dollars. What would that have cost them? Very short sighted in my opinion. The chef did an amazing job cooking the food as well as entertaining our family. We got our food in a timely manner. Overall, it was a good experience minus the lack of accommodation.

Somewhat disappointing - 3 stars. Benihana Maple Grove was the latest stop in my on-going adventure to try every sushi joint in the Twin Cities. Unfortunately, my sushi was pretty lame. The sushi was a lack luster, disappointing experience. I feel that Benihana just phones in their sushi rolls, they hardly put any effort into them and they don't even try. They don't offer many varieties either. My rolls were mostly rice, they were asymmetrical & sloppy & not even round. Some slices of my first roll had hardly any ingredients on the inside, and two of the rolls (I think) didn't have anything on the inside at all and the ingredients were simply piled on top. Last but not least, the flavors were sub-par. I couldn't even finish my 3 rolls. In summary, I think the sushi at Benihana is only 2 stars. On the positive side, the restaurant is large and beautiful. Everything seems to be very clean. And the customer service was excellent. Shout out to Daria, the service at the bar was awesome. I have a feeling that the main thing at Benihana, the place where they shine, is probably the hibachi side of the business. But the sushi? No, thanks. I'll pass. I feel that the sushi is a 2 and everything else is probably a 4. So I'm being generous and averaging everything out to 3 stars. -Maxx

Oodles of Noodles

First & LAST time at Benny Hannah's in Maple Grove, MN. Food was cold, Lo Mein was straight-up Top Ramen (Oodles of Noodles, y'all ), service sucked, and they can't make an Old Fashion to save their life. No apology for the wait. Maybe it's just this location, but Benny Hannah's nationwide will never get another dime from me. Our Asian buffets in Indiana blow this place out the water. Money wasted. PISSED.

Menu and hibachi table

Overall we had a very middling and rushed experience. Our server was a little rusty and had to ask multiple times what we wanted and gave customers around our hibachi table the wrong thing several times. Our cook was pretty fun, but he did seem a little disengaged and bored at times. The food was hit-or-miss. The onion soup was good. The salad was fine, but nothing special. The white rice was a little hard. The vegetables were DELICIOUS. The steak was pretty good, but they went a little heavy on the butter for my taste, which made me feel sick. We finished the meal with the green tea ice cream, which wasn't great--it had a very earthy taste.

Went there for Mother's Day this year. Had a really nice time. It was very busy so reservations are needed. The server was pretty attentive which was helpful. I had the Chateaubriand medium rare which two pieces were like that. Little disappointed that's why the four star. Plus didn't get much mushrooms either. Had a little shrimp which was tasty. The cook did one trick not to entertaining. Didn't get the table involved. Overall the ambiance was very noisy but for entertaining it was a nice experience. Prices were over rated!

Steak, shrimp and chicken and rice with noodles. Plain food.

How does a restaurant that claims to be "Asian" not have hot tea!? Save your money and go to a locally owned restaurant.

What's the difference between standard and bar seating, I'm trying to get a hibachi table?

Standard and bar seating are in the restaurant area. The bar seating is literally just some tables and seating in the bar area. Hibachi tables are separate. (Note: you can still order hibachi at a non-hibachi table, you just won't get the show.)

The server was incredibly kind, attentive, and gave solid recommendations. The American Favorite Roll is the best and is a great option for everyone because it doesn't have raw fish. It was about 80% cucumber with barely any crab, which wasn't what we expected. Unfortunately, the service really overshadowed the experience. We weren't greeted when we walked in, and things felt off from the start. We had a stroller with us, and instead of helping us find a comfortable spot, we were initially directed to a booth that clearly wouldn't work. When I asked about it, the waitress moved a couple of tables and pointed us to an end table with an uncomfortable chair. I politely asked to sit somewhere else, which felt awkward to even have to do. There were also a few moments that felt careless, like when she reached over my baby and stroller to grab a drink instead of going around. That's just not something you should risk. When I finished my salad, she told me to keep my fork rather than bringing a new one for sushi, which came off as odd. I also know how to use chopsticks so it seemed weird to assume that I didn't and would reuse my fork. The waitress didn't seem friendly or welcoming, and we didn't feel acknowledged at any point..even when we left, despite being the only customers there. It's a shame because the food, music, and overall vibe had potential, but the service really took away from the experience.

Sashimi is very small, bite sized so order about if you're going to order it. Rainbow roll was regular size and very tasty. Had pink lady roll, was just ok, didn't care for the texture Strawberry ice cream for dessert was good Service was good, came by often and food came out quick. Only issue was beer. When we sat I ordered a beer and they carried me. Ok, I'm old but whatever I can get behind being safe, sure whatever. Beer never came, I inquired about it after first round of food and was asked for my ID, I said I showed it to the other girl who took my order originally. She went over, they spoke, and she came back and said she needed to see it? I can understand being safe if your not sure but I'm old, this was over the top

Sushi rolls: Shoga roll: I really liked. I have avoided as it said ginger dressing on it. It was very fresh and tasty. Out of control Roll: I normally don't go for a deep fried roll but this tasted good on a cold day. Shrimp tempura roll- I prefer the crunchy roll to this, but you order what you need to when the menu is limited. Dynamite roll: Decent and a staple for what we usually get. Curry chicken Don (rice bowl with brown curry)- this has become one of our crave-worthy items here. The brown curry is so comforting and it reminds me of a deconstructed egg foo yung on rice with crispy chicken cutlet on top. Always a fav! Ask for extra curry so it's saucy and it's a large portion, so share or eat it solo. Calamari is another fav. Sorry; didn't get pics. Or the miso soup. So good. For dinner- we always get the squid salad and I have my family hooked on it. We actually have gotten it to go for our poke bowls at home! Overall, we love this place. We have our favorite items and those keep us coming back.

Fyi: i dont usually leave reviews... especially if i don't like the place. I just stop going to…read moresupport the business! Omg!!! WORST manager customer service ever!!! So UNREASONABLE and NOT accommodating at all... 3rd time eating here. First 2 times were good. Nothing to complain about. This time 3rd time: I had a HUGE group of 11 people out for a celebration dinner. Time was 5pm. Outside was HOT weather, so we wanted to go inside and wait for the rest of the party. The other 2 cars were on the way but still in traffic due to rush hour and crash on 694. We came from 1 hour drive away!!! Place was totally empty. No customers yet. The buffet has 2 big table areas for huge dinner groups. 6 of us were waiting and manager only has 2 chairs for waiting area. She REFUSE (and I mean REFUSE) to allow us to sit at 1 of the large dining table that we would be sitting at to eat dinner. Manager could WATCH us if she was concerned about something. It's not like we look sketchy or anything... 2 adult ladies and 4 girls - ages ranging from 10 to 23 years old. Manager reason: just in case another big group comes in. Policy is that everyone in party needs to be present before being seated. (Understandable if place was busy and people were eating). The place was EMPTY!!! Manager also said we could NOT pull some chairs from the big table for us to sit near the waiting area. We wanted that option because she would NOT allow us to sit AT the table. We would be blocking the entry way. We are ALREADY blocking the way anyway with 6 of us standing there!! Since she was manager, guess I will need to talk to owner. After the remainder of our party got there 5 minutes later and paid, she says: You can sit wherever you want. NEVER GOING BACK EVER AGAIN! Guess the amount of tip that was left this night for an over $200 transaction?!? I purposely spoke LOUDLY the whole time I complained to my family so manager would hear my thoughts about how ridiculous this experience was. Manager stood at cashier station pretending to be deaf.
