Let's say, this will be the last time I dine here. If you made a reservation, there's no point. If you indicate it's for a special occasion, there's no need. Try not to make extra request besides your normal entree orders or you may never receive it or wait forever to get it. I made a reservation for a group of 9 with kids to celebrate a birthday. We was seated at our reservation time, and everyone was very excited. There were 3 other tables in the midst of entertainment from the amazing chefs. It was the kids first time and they couldn't wait for the same experience up close. The same hostess (who seated us) as well as staffs walked passed our table many times within the 50 minutes that we patiently waited. 2 of the tables had left well over 30 minutes ago. At this point the kids were getting impatient and hungry. I jokingly said across the table to another family member that we should've head over to TGIF or Dave and Buster (across the parking lot) instead without a reservation and probably would've had our birthday dinner by now. Then our server came over, explained the hostess didn't notify him that we were waiting to be served since we were seated in an area that wasn't his. We understood and just wanted to eat by then so we got our orders in. Also threw in a beer on the house for the wait. The salad and soups came out right away. Chef was amazing and highlight of the night, keeping the kids and adults entertained. After finishing our food, we spiral into another very long and "ready to be over" wait. At one point our server walked by and said to a hostess "I just want to go home." We thought we'd hurried it up since our reservation was at 8 but wasn't attended to until 9 and it was about 10 now. But birthday boy wanted the same treat with the birthday song he saw happening in the table next to us when we sat down. He was excited for the same experience. So we asked for treats, mentioned the birthday kabuki mug certificate then our server asked if we also wanted a birthday song. I thought it would be great if he could do that. Treats came but was handed to us so we wasn't sure if there was a song coming or not. Birthday boy was disappointed but still enjoy the ice cream. Looks like there were only 1 server on our side of the restaurant. He was also serving 2 new tables next to us. At this point our server seems annoyed and ready to go home. He came to our table and told us to gather for a picture. We were confused because we didn't asked for a picture and thought he got the wrong table. Then he annoyingly said it's with the birthday kabuki cup that he'll print out for us. Didn't knew about it so we thought it was pretty cool to have memorabilia for birthday boy. Waited another 30 minute for server to bring our bill and take birthday boy to choose a mug. When we left, we forgot the to ask for the picture and try to go back in but door was locked. It was after 10:30 now. Figured it was a stressful night for the server and he probably forgot, oh well. Food in general was good and the hibachi experience was amazing for the kid's first time (1 star for the chef). However it wasn't the birthday experience we thought it'd be. When we sat in, the table next to us had a birthday too and it went smoothly with the candle, treat and birthday song so it really set the mood for our birthday boy, he was excited. Had reservations Friday night at 845. They took us back to our table right on time. It was very busy and our server seemed a little flustered, but she was sweet and did a good job. Hadn't been to Benihana in a long time and they didn't disappoint. The food was amazing as well as the showmanship of the Chef!! Throughout dinner the Chef had nice interaction with the dinner party, flipping around his spatula like no ones business, even throwing it behind his back and catching it!!! I especially liked the flaming onion volcano. Enough about the show, the food was delicious , no left overs here . I had the Teriyaki Steak with grilled mushrooms and it was goooood. My wife got the chicken , also very good along with the yum yum sauce they give with it. Not sure why, but only one of our entrees came with ice cream after dinner, hmmmm :( If you're going out for a special occasion this is the place. We have made it a tradition to always go to Benihana on on our birthday using chef table birthday coupon. This year around my birthday my dad died . After the funeral which was around thanksgiving and everything involved in losing a parent that needs to get done . We decided to try and use the coupon . I always have a wonderful experience at this Benihana's! Great food, great customer service! I came in the other night just by myself and the host Jodi was so pleasant and welcoming and worked to fit me in at a teppanyaki table right away even though I didn't have a reservation. I really appreciate the little things like that-a host working hard to make sure you're taken care of etc. Our waitress was very attentive and everyone at our table had a great dinner. Our chef was fantastic and great food here at this location as always. I also order their sushi to go from time to time and it's so good-especially the crispy rice spicy salmon-delicious. read more

My last few experiences at this location haven't been good. I'll focus on my most recent visit for this review. I was invited on a Thursday night to a birthday celebration at this location. Reservation was made for 10 guest (I believe their tables are designed to sit 8, but they were able to add 2 chairs to accommodate). We arrived promptly at the time of our reservation minus 2 people. The host told us we had to wait for the other 2 people, which is fine. Personally for a restaurant who offers appetizers and drinks you would think they would seat the 8 and bank that extra money on drinks, apps & sushi, especially since once you are seated you are rushed through the rest of the process and often times full before your entire entree is one being cooked. But I'm just a customer. I know nothing about running a business. So once we are seated we are greeted by our server. As I said they rush through the process and serval errors were made or things were missed. We ended up ordering food & drinks at the same time. I personally ordered the one and only hibachi chicken noodle dish they offer. The waitress asked if I wanted the fried rice. I asked if it came with it (even though I know it's an extra fee with any other entree), she repeated it again as if she didn't hear me ask the question. I declined the rice. You seriously don't need noodles & rice.. ever! When the chef arrived he went over the orders, had to make several corrections because the waitress didn't listen. When he got to me he goes "chicken noodles & white rice", I ask does it come with white rice (meaning the price of the white rice is included in my $22 entree price) he says "yes", so I say sure. The chef seemed like he didn't want to be there that night. Like they usually put on a little show, so tricks and what not. We got a half assed show. He dropped & cracked an egg on someone's shoe. The only other trick he attempted was the volcano and that didn't even go so well. Maybe he was new or shy. He forgot that my order came with white rice and accidentally made all of the rice into chicken fried rice. He gave me a bowl & my friend said something & he took it back but then checked the ticket & realized he messed up & said "just keep it"... mind you I never even ordered rice. By the way the rice was very dry & lacked flavor!!!! When the check came guess what?! I was charged 4 dollars and some change for rice I never asked for. At this point our waitress was slow at returning so I decided to deduct the price of the rice (that I never asked for or wanted with my noodles) from the tip and left a note. I basically got scammed into buying nasty dry rice. I used to love Benihana but a lot has changed. It doesn't even taste good anymore. The overall experience isn't exciting anymore. Prices went up and it's definitely not worth it. ALWAYS double check your check. Don't let them overcharge you on already overpriced food. read more

Eric was our host and Roshen our chief. I heard that the chief has been with the company for over 20 years! He's great at what he does! Food was great. His jokes & skill were a great. Don't waste your money here. We got here at 9:30 and they told us the wait time for table is 5 mins and we got seated after 15mins. And the waiter came right the way and took our orders, but the chef came at 10:30. I ordered steak with lobster and want my steak at medium. The steak turn out to be well done. The lobster is also wayyyyyy over cooked, and all I can taste is lemon. The chef put way too much lemon on the lobster. My bf order a sushi entree. They mess it up with a sushi appetizer. The person who bring the sushi is not our waiter. He didn't bring soy sauce for the sushi so my bf had to asked for it. He's gone for like 10 mins and pass by our table, my bf had to stopped him and told him that he got the order wrong and he told us that he doesn't know what's going on and have to asked our waiter about the order. And the waiter didn't come for about 15 mins. I have been to other hibachi restaurants. The wait time for the food is never that long. They automatically charge us a 20% service charge and put tax on the service charge as well. I have no idea where I spend my 20% service fee at. read more

Save yourselves time and money. 3/28 arrived and got seated in the bar area 550pm waiter Dwight pacing around. Finally got our order in at 6pm just at the tail end of "Happy Hour ". We ordered 2 sushi's each:shrimp crunchy roll- spicy lotus tempura roll, yellow tail and sumo roll. At 645 we finally got our sushi but sadly only 3 of the 4 rolls. I spoke to another employee that it shouldn't have taken a sad whooping 45 minutes for sushi. It's not like we were being entertained, it's only sushi for Gods sake. I spoke to the manager and sadly she took off 20% for the inconvenience. At 710 Dwight informed the sushi chef that 1 roll was missing but I opted out since I don't want to wait another hour for just one more roll. At 715pm we left. Talk about inconvenience? The two of us wasted our night waiting and watching other people suffer waiting as well. I thought I'd give this establishment another try but our last 3 times was well over an hour. I contemplated on leaving after we placed our order but that would be a dick move or even dine and dash. Go some place other than this location or let alone this franchise unless you have countless hours to wait for sushi. This is the end of my straw and it's a fair warning for everyone! read more

Went there with my fiancé and asked the waiter about it and he said that that's what they charge now to all bills in place of the tip. IAOWB - I am obsessed with Benihana! So, Cadia, why are you giving them a three star review? Let me tell you. Benihana has amazing food. You can trust me because I definitely go there enough to know. Even if for some reason you hated everything else, you won't ever be able to beat their chicken fried rice and yum yum sauce combo. It is seriously that good. I have always been a fan of places where they cook right in front of you and Benihana just really sets the bar where food is concerned. When you take the food out of the equation some of the little issues start to build up. One thing I haven't gotten over is the table size. There is not enough room to be comfortable without feeling like you're in everyone's space. I'm hoping they'll find a way to fix that some day. Secondly, during the day time Benihana is weird. I see them as a higher end restaurant (especially for the price) and sometimes I've gone to grab pick up orders where the hosts are scrambling, the pick up time is off, and I leave with my rice only to find out that they didn't give me a fork. To conclude, I love Benihana (but most of that love is during the night time on a slower night!) Pro tip: Food takes a while to get started if you're eating Hibachi but once it starts coming, it stays coming! I've started only eating a little soup and salad so I have room for the rest of my meal. Come hungry! read more

I really wish they would at least ATTEMPT to provide decent to-go service. It seems like every time I order to-go, there is just slow/terrible service. I LOVE Benihana food and honestly usually just get fried rice - seems easy right? Apparently not. I'm not in MG often and wasn't going to order Benihana but saw online that you can order online AND do curbside pickup! Very exciting... until you try it. I have a sprained ankle so opted for a drive through or curbside pickup so I didn't have to walk inside. The instructions online are very clear and I followed them exactly. Text a certain number with my order number. At MG, the sign also says to text your name and spot#. I did both twice and after sitting for 25 minutes, I finally hobbled my way inside for my overpriced fried rice (and over 30% tip). I walked in to see several employees behind the desk who grabbed my bag immediately and handed it over. Upon opening the bag, it's VERY clear that it had been sitting for quite some time. I'll start by saying the waitress and chef were very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately this location is gross, there is no other way to describe it. From the moment you walk in you can tell it's dated and has that "everything needs to be scrubbed" feeling. The table, chairs, floor, walls, plates, utensils, grill, etc are all worn and tired. The worst part was when my daughter went to the bathroom and there was vomit in the stall on the floor. When I alerted the hostess she didn't really seem to care. Absolutely TERRIBLE! Went to use my Birthday certificate. Sat in the bar because we didn't feel like waiting and a show. Took forever for our server to come. He had 2 tables at the time, including ours, probably because every table in the bar sat dirty the ENTIRE time we were there besides the table already taken when we arrived and the one we sat at. Ordered a glass or wine and a Bacardi coke when he first came to the table, asked for a few minutes to order food. He brought us our waters and took our orders a few minutes later. We both ordered off the "5 course" menu, about 10-15 minutes later our food came out... COLD! Yet still no drinks, we had to ask for them... mentioned when he brought the drinks back our food was cold, he literally shrugged it off like he didn't care. Five minutes later I asked for boxes because I was over it! Brought our boxes and check.... $140 for 2 COLD meals $30-$40 + $7 for COLD Fried rice .and two drinks at $14 each... and they don't allow you the option to decide what you tip ... auto 20% for shit customer service. Called that evening to talk to a manager and was hung up on 3x!!! Called the next afternoon, same thing HUNG UP ON! Shit service, shit food and WAY over priced!!! Nothing like almost getting your eyebrows singed off by an onion volcano to make your night. Honestly, we only go here once or twice a year to utilize our $30 off birthday coupons, but it's always an enjoyable experience. The servers are always awesome and the skills of the hibachi chefs never cease to amaze me (although they can sometimes look bored of the routine and same ol' jokes that I'm sure they've said at least half a dozen times in one night). The food is decent enough and you sure do get a lot with the hibachi meals- salad, soup, veggies, protein, and ice cream. We always double up on the shrimp sauce because it's hands down the better choice. Apparently they don't have it in Denver either so consider ourselves lucky that we get to enjoy this creamy, calorie bomb sauce that makes our leftovers taste better the next day. The food was excellent! The server staff was super friendly and conscientious! The chef put on quite a fun and entertaining cooking presentation. But, what really impressed me was that the chef noticed when my disabled husband dropped his fork on the floor and started crying in embarrassment and as we were trying to comfort him and tell him that it was ok, the chef left the cooking station and went and got my husband a clean fork. That was service above and beyond! So touching! Loved the photo taken of our group after the meal. We must have gotten a new person. We went with sitting at a table and not there for the food show. She took for ever to help us. We ordered an appetizer that cam as we were finishing our food. I saw our food sitting on a hot rack for over 5 minutes. I know I saw the floor manager just walk by the food sitting on the rack multiple times!!! Then 2 minutes into getting food she asked us if we want to go boxes. We asked for more water and she took all 3 glasses and came back asking which one was whos? How would we know? We go out for my sister's birthday every single year to Benihana. We waited 10 minutes before our server greeted us, another 12 to get our non-alcoholic drinks (water and lemonade). Another 20 to get the first course out, and just slow service throughout. I sat for 15 minutes with an empty glass with no server in sight to ask for a refill. To top it off, 4/5 people in our group ended up with food poisoning. Probably will not be back. read more
