At 72, I was unable to stand up straight, like.a bent over old woman, my legs would go numb, and sometimes my muscles wouldn't work and I would just fall over! I couldn't walk more than 25 yards and I was in constant pain. I had asked to be referred to Dr. Yundt for over a year, but I kept ending up with other PAs and other neurosurgeons, because providers in corporations are unwilling to refer outside their group. All they told me to do was get injections into my spine, which did no good whatsoever. I finally did some foot stamping, and ended up in Dr. Yundt's office. he took one look at my MRI and told me not to worry, that he could help me. I had a laminectomy on L 2-3, 3-4, and 4-5, and when I woke up from anesthesia, for the first time in two years, I could feel my feet, and when it came time to be discharged from this day surgery, I could stand up straight and tall, and walk normally, painlessly. I'm going to be able to ride my horse in another month, and now I can walk normally everywhere; I can hike, I walk my fields, And start living a normal life. Dr. Yundt changed my life, or perhaps I should say that he returned my life to me. I cannot say enough, good about him. He was clear and concise, and very straightforward. Not only is he a skilIed and conscientious surgeon, but also a stellar person who does many works for those less fortunate. I don't think he has a God complex, but he certainly deserves to. I love his staff, and they have taken good care of me. Kelly, at his phone board is always on point.

Dr Perkey and her medical assistant are wonderful. I left a message with her medical assistant and didn't hear back for a few weeks then got a random call from her that Dr Perkey would see me again. I so appreciate it as she is hands down the best doctor I have ever had who actually cares and listens and helps you to find solutions. The building was a large one and a lot going on but the process of check in and getting to the doctor was seamless and easy. To be able to get educated and compassionate care by a provider who keeps up to date on brain injury and gives you tools to use makes a world of a difference! So glad I am able to come here and have no problem making the drive anytime until we can move to bend which is in our 2 year plan.

When I first met Dr. Shaebin about 10 or 12 years ago I had already been sick with MS for over 15…read moreyears. I had had several episodes of optic neuritis with no treatment. For many years I was told no one knew what I had and then when they finally said I had MS at one particular medical facility they didn't offer any medication Physical Therapy... Nothing! So not long after moving to Bend when I met this Doctor Who was considered an expert in the field I was ecstatic. She told me at my first appointment (during which she spent ample time answering questions that I'd never had answered in my appointments before. I was raving about her to everyone I knew I was actually excited because she said the next time we would meet she wanted to discuss therapies. So after having another year of excruciating pain difficulty walking and temporary blindness in one eye. I went to my next appointment so hopeful! The doctor came in looking furious. She sat down in front of me and crossed her arms angrily. She told me if I didn't like her services to find a new doctor. I was in complete shock. I told her I had no idea what she was referring to and that I had no complaints. She refused to budge on her position saying "my secretary heard you. "Then she claimed she heard me as well! Knowing that I hadn't said a single negative word I felt shaken ; as she got up to walk out of our appointment (I had waited for over six months )I said what about the medication that you mentioned... She said you'll discuss it with your new physician! Shortly after I received a letter excusing me from their care. Absolutely astonished and devastated I thought about anything that may have been misconstrued the time before. I remember that when I left her office I stumbled as if someone had shoved me and as I approached the secretary I grabbed her desk to stop the fall. In my embarrassment I said something to the effect of yeah I was just shoved out of there... I thought oh my could this really have been interpreted as a complaint! ?Did the secretary have no sense of humor! Did she not see me stumble!? Did she not hear me when I said "what a great doctor!? "At first I was embarrassed to mention this to my other doctors. As often I have been embarrassed of a circumstance despite the fact that I did nothing wrong. I'm realizing now she should be embarrassed! What if I had a condition that made my temperament such that I would say something against my doctor? Should she not have treated me anyway? The fact that I never said a word against her makes this even worse however she is supposed to be a professional physician! So why was my treatment dependent on proving my innocence!? Since when is liking a person who is a doctor a prerequisite for Care? Eventually I found a new neurologist who I liked very much who wound up sending me to OHSU to see if there were any more up-to-date treatments he was not aware of. He was such a humble intelligent thoughtful doctor. When I tried to return to my physician I was not able to get in to see him and so my general physician suggested I see Dr. Shaeben Of course I remembered her very well Anyway I thought about it and I decided to go see her.She greeted me with very clear skepticism. She told me she remembered me and we could "try one more time". She spoke to me as though I were guilty of a crime and she was doing me a great favor by allowing me to be in her presense. When I mentioned a trial that I was aware of overseas she immediately accused me of falling for stem cell tourism. I insisted that this was a viable trial done in the Middle East and I wanted to know what she thought of it. When she looked in her system she did find that it was a valid and credible trial but offered no apology for the way she had spoken to me. That was all right. However I still couldn't believe that she was not sorry or embarrassed to tell me she was giving me another shot as if I blew it the last time. Covid had been underway and I had a cold the day of my next appointment After canceling the appointment for the safety of everyone around I received a letter that I was again excused from her care. When I called the office to ask why they refused to give me any direct answer then they claimed I missed too many appointments. When I explained why I missed one appointment and that I had called to cancel they then said "it was the doctor's prerogative to excuse a patient for any reason" i gave HER another chance!I would like her to know i did NOT deserve such disgraceful disrespectful service. I could have been on medication for many years which could have deterred my complete inability to walk. She knew she was the only expert in this disease in town and didn't care that she left me without a doctor for so long What a disgrace! !!!!!

Being a victim of Domestic Violence and suffering from injuries my need to be whole again is very important. There were no referrals given, I was told to come back and went through more medical testing but the surgery submission was delayed and a true run around was given. Mike in the office sent an email saying the doctor would be having surgery and not sure what he could do. I feel used and I feel a doctor's code to help those in need has been violated. Be very cautious as far as I am concerned. Update July 5th 2020 I went to Portland, Oregon and found Dr. Mark Mansoso who immediately wanted to do my surgeries. He said he could not believe I have lived like this for 7 years!!! Bumped me up on the surgery list and I have my first surgery on July 13th! I highly recommend Dr. Manoso. The trial time for this device was only a few days maybe 4 there was no way I could really tell if this thing was working but I decided I would try it against my better judgement in that short of time. This operation this device it all cost a lot of money one of the employees was very rude to me one day when I jokingly said I don't want to fill out the paperwork I've already done it a hundred times and she got real crabby with me and said that if I didn't want to then go home and I wouldn't get my sacro iliac shot that I needed to block pain like I said no sense of humor its all rush rush rush. So I just dropped the clipboard on the floor I said I'm going home and by the way I want this thing out of my body it's doing me no good and it's actually hurting me. After that they wouldn't see me anymore. They could have just had that woman apologize to me for being so rude and that would have been over. Apparently I upset the CONVEYER BELT STYLE OF TREATMENT. I have had plenty of fine medical treatment in my life as I have had a Double Lung Transplant,a Gastric By pass ,a hip replacement and knee surgery and never been treated rudely before. I can not recommend this group.

I came to this UC because pain was getting worse and ear was draining while I was visiting family in the area and I wanted someone to visually see it in case it wasn't bacterial. My first mistake was picking this establishment without reading the reviews. Staff was professional enough but rushed and appeared understaffed. The male medical assistant became oddly snarky after I revealed I work in dermatology, which was quite awkward. The NP I saw later looked at my ear for maybe five seconds and said there was no evidence of a bacterial infection and I should stop the antibiotics. They said the MD I saw virtually was likely wrong about it being bacterial since they didn't see me in-person. After peeking at my nose and noticing it was draining (I have allergies in Central Oregon) they said all my pain must be due to congestion and to do anti-congestive meds OTC. Sounds reasonable enough. I have a lot of faith in medicinal professionals, so I tried their treatment for the next 24-48 hours. Unfortunately I ended up needing to be driven to the ER a couple days later because the pain in my ear went from painful to agony and it was draining even more pus with some blood. Long story short I needed to be admitted for mastoiditis (seen on CT scan) and had to go on multiple antibiotics and steroids. ER naturally did a culture of the external ear canal too, which grew out a heavy growth of pseudomonas aeruginosa (aka bacteria). My eardrum ended up rupturing from the infection which was extremely painful and may have damaged my hearing (although I haven't seen ENT yet to confirm). Overall, I'm very disappointed with the care I received here. I'd like to assume they were doing their best and I know misdiagnoses happen to even the best of providers. But I can't help but feel that if I had seen someone less rushed, more empathetic, and better trained I would have gotten what the original provider I saw thought was an infection confirmed and received earlier treatment. Maybe then I could have avoided an expensive ER visit and weeks of pain. But who knows. The $300 out-of-pocket cost for a 5 minute visit here just rubbed salt in the wound considering their "care" actually caused me a delay in treatment and caused me great amount of pain in the end. I would avoid this establishment if at all possible.
