Driving school is boring everywhere, not a reason to not chose this school based on the curriculum. However, I'd like to share my experiences with the people there. The front desk staff is okay at best, not very professional, but they are pretty friendly. Now when I took this course, I was instructed in the classroom by a Mr. Juan Manuel Enriquez. He got his points across and was fairly easy to follow, but for whatever reason seemed to have a bone to pick with certain students while praising others for absolutely nothing (teen girls). I remember vividly one day he started yelling at a kid during a dead silent classroom for whatever reason (I think he must've been whispering to the kid next to him). Now I'm not gonna say that the kid didn't deserve it, but there are certain things that need to be understood. The kid paid for the class and was only disturbing himself; his loss. Not only that, but he got unreasonably mad when he was shouting at the kid. It was kind of scary actually and disturbed the entire class, but I digress. When it came to the driving hours and observation that is required by law I was fortunate enough to be instructed by an elderly man whose name I never got. I took five of my seven lessons with him. When I was driving with him he would always give me encouragement and good advice, he made me feel like a very confident driver. To my dismay, he mentioned that basically this was a part-time gig and he had to go back upstate. During my final two lessons, I had (you guessed it) Enriquez. Driving with him was a nightmare. He would constantly berate me and criticize every action that I did, often asking me to do unreasonable tasks. For example, we were driving down 77 during the lunch rush hour and I was on the middle lane. He told me to take a right turn. As any student would I obliged and started switching lanes. In the MIDDLE OF SWITCHING, he told me to go back because I had already missed the turn. Keep in mind, not only was traffic congested, but he also gave me less than 200 feet to turn. He NEVER told me what street it was, other than just "turn right here." Fine whatever. Even though I was super distraught afterward, I shook it off and blamed myself. Come my final hour of driving, I had him again. The constant criticism never stopped, and he even went as far as adding on to my grading sheet so that I would have more points taken away. For a brief moment in time, I thought It was because he was trying to fail me but I knew better than to think that. Later on, I ended up taking my drivers test with them. I took it in their shoddy old nissans that are in terrible condition. What do you know, He was my proctor. I thought he might've changed because it had been over two years since I had been there but I was wrong. I failed multiple times because he would prematurely press the brake on his side. Not only that, but despite having parallel parked relatively fine both times, he gave me the lowest possible score in that section. I ended up taking my drivers test somewhere else and passed on the first try. And I got maximum points on parallel parking. Long story short, take your money elsewhere, the people there are rude and egotistical pricks. I would've said you probably would get a different instructor but fomr the looks of it, all the others left because they hated being around him. read more
