We started the process on October 14, 2021, and moved in at the end of August 2023. I will give them credit; the layout and design of the house are beautiful, but the quality of work is horrible. Also, they are unorganized, and the people they hire are unprofessional. Bottles of drinks and food wrappers were in the brand new kitchen and bathroom cabinets and all around the property. They never met their deadlines. This has been a nightmare, and I wouldn't wish this on anybody. So much damage has been done, like the entire HVAC system needs to be redone to work correctly. I will list below all the damages this company did and include pictures. Please, whoever is looking into this company, be careful, do your research, ask around, don't be fooled by the excellent way of talking and acting like they care and that we are family from the same community! They are just out to scam you out of your money and are dishonest. List of significant damages done to Brand dream house: HVAC must be redone, looking about 50k or more, without opening up drywall. Hardwood floors are gapping throughout the entire house. My husband asked Mohammed Nafe to install humidifiers on all three HVAC systems so the hardwood would not gap. I hired a reputable HVAC company, and one HVAC unit had a humidifier but wasn't installed, and the other two didn't. ( have text messages proof of asking for humidifiers.) - [ ] Ordered the wrong front door after waiting months to arrive, and they already installed it. It was the wrong door!! We let them know, and they argued at first that it was the right door. I then went ahead and forwarded the text between us and showed them the door we wanted. Then Yousef Nafe claims that the company sent the wrong door. It's always someone else's fault. They never admit that they are unorganized and are making these mistakes. And in the end, we always have to accept and live with these mistakes. We ordered storefront windows for the back of the house that are all black trim and wanted all the windows to be black trim inside and out. After they installed the windows, my husband and I came to check on the house. The wrong windows were white trim, and the storefront windows were black. They looked mismatched and not the style we were looking for. So they repaint all the windows with black paint, and after living in the home for a few months, the paint is chipping. Also, the windows and doors are not installed correctly. When it rains or snows, we have a puddle of water inside the window ledge and water stains on the blinds from the rain. - [ ] Also they are always asking for more and more money and when you ask for receipts you never get them. I am writing this review because no one deserves to go through this. We were building our dream home. We chose expensive materials throughout the whole house. We took our time picking everything out. Since we moved in, we haven't been able to enjoy our home. We are out of money and need much more to fix the damages. There's still so much more, but I will include pictures.

Dan worked very slowly, and sometimes made simple and easily avoidable errors, such as reviewing the wrong document. On other occasions, it took him an inexplicable amount of time to complete short tasks. Overall, this caused weeks of unnecessary delays in the project. Dan did a poor job with communication, and did not respond to emails in a timely fashion (and sometimes didn't reply at all). Moreover, he attempted to overcharge me at the conclusion of the project. While he did change the charge when the inconsistency was pointed out, it shouldn't be incumbent on the customer to point this out. I raised my concerns with Dan at the conclusion of the project. His response was characteristic of his behavior throughout the project: He just ignored my email and never responded. Not a good way to treat a customer. Overall, my experience working with Dan was frustrating due primarily to his slow rate of work and careless mistakes. There are a lot of architects in Chicagoland. It wouldn't be hard to find one better than Daniel Baigelman/FCA.

We ended up terminating our contract with Greene and Proppe halfway through the project. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: - Responded in a timely manner - Nice - Nice office and location was convenient - Creative designs for kitchen that incorporated our aesthetic ideas Cons: - They designed a kitchen with 9" square cabinets. The blind corners were non-functional, as well as many other aspects of the cabinet designs - Knowing the timeline and scope of our project, they casually mentioned to us 2 months before our anticipated completion date that our custom kitchen we had created with them could not be built by their cabinet makers, who were 3 months out from taking any new projects. They wished us luck on finding another custom cabinet maker ourselves so late in the game. This was the first that they ever discussed this with us. Our custom kitchen plans we created were useless and we spend thousands upon thousands of dollars creating them with the architects. - There are no actual measurements on our plans. When we want to look at our plans to get a better idea of our space, and ask ourselves questions like "how big is this room and what furniture can fit in it?" there are no actual measurements on any of the plans. - The basement bathroom vanity was designed to be a size that was unconventionally long and difficult to find. The plumbing was designed to be all the way on the left of the vanity instead of in the vented of the vanity, like most vanities are. We had to pay the plumber extra money to redo the plumbing for the vanity because of the architect's design. There is nowhere convenient on the wall to put a toilet paper holder or to hang any towel bars. - The office in the basement is much bigger than the bedroom. We didn't say we wanted this and would have assumed the bedroom would be a bit bigger than an office room, as they typically are. It will be difficult to even fit a queen sized bed with two nightstands in the room. - The light switches in the basement are in such awkward spaces that you literally have to wrap your hand around an entire wall corner to turn on a light as you enter a room. It's an annoyance every time we have to turn on the lights. - We strongly expressed that we did not want any spray foam for insulation in our home. Their response was to use soy based spray foam. When we said we did not want that either, they did not provide any further suggestions or recommendations. Overall, we feel that we paid far too much for the services that we received (or didn't receive). I'm writing this review because I thought it would be helpful for someone considering to work with the company to know about these details before signing on with them - I wish that we had this kind of information beforehand.
