Seek dental care elsewhere. I'm sharing my experience because I feel other patients should be…read moreaware. The last two times I received dental treatment at Apple Seed Family Dentistry, I experienced significant problems afterward that required me to seek care elsewhere. The first time, I had a cavity filled, but the filling affected my bite. My bite did not feel right afterward, and I ultimately had to go to another dental office to have the problem corrected. The second experience was much more concerning. I received a dental injection, and afterward I developed severe difficulty opening my mouth--essentially a locked jaw--that lasted for about a month. Unfortunately, my jaw and mouth have not felt the same since. I have had to seek care elsewhere to have this continued issue get resolved. I understand that complications can happen with dental procedures, but having two separate experiences where I ultimately needed treatment elsewhere has seriously affected my confidence in this practice. I'm posting this review because I think patients deserve to know about my experience and to make informed decisions about where they receive their dental care. Ultimately, I have canceled appointments for my entire family and will not go back to this practice.

They gave no papers to fill out, no Hippa (illegal not to haave), no medical history, etc. I waited for a 3D xray, the dentist was to read the xray so I would know the next step. I waited over and hour and a half when I was told they would call the results before 5. No one called and then I found out that they closed at 12 on Friday. When calling them on Monday, I found out that there dentist left. I asked to get a copy of the xray and I have not received a response. They use contract endodontists and oral surgeons which come by once a month. When I asked to check the insurance they quoted me $49 for xrays, $100 to make an appointment to the endodontist, and $500 for the procedure, (even though they did not have a diagnosis.) I called my insurance and everything was already covered. My insurance company called then to see what was going on. Needless to say, I went to a real dentist office and got the real answer to my problem at no coast. This place is a mess. I would never go there again.

Having been to dentists for over 50 years the process is rather the same. However, what they do not tell you is what they are doing x-ray wise and you assume it is a covered service until you find out their lack of transparency and communications is some of those fancy x-ray costs you several hundred dollars/not covered by insurance - I was not afforded an opportunity to decline any of it. I believe their lack of transparency is to deceive you and you are forced to pay these significant fees even with insurance. By the time they did their evaluation they "recommended" a particular type of cleaning for $700 beyond insurance. I said no, I just want a basic cleaning which they DENIED me to have. All they could offer was since "we did this evaluation" we are only allowed to perform their recommended service - not a basic cleaning. Why? they don't make much money on a basic cleaning as covered by insurance - not too hard to figure out. Goal is to deceive patients and make money. I'm ok with you making money - but you must be transparent with patients and give them options, not paint them in a financial corner.

We were longtime patients of Southern Laser Dentistry and truly trusted this office, which makes…read morethis review disappointing to write. Our concerns began after an appointment where I observed several troubling hygiene and patient care issues during my daughter's visit, including staff placing bare hands in her mouth without gloves, lack of cleaning between patients in the X-ray area, and improper handling of protective equipment. As a parent, these issues were extremely concerning. In addition, our family has now experienced multiple fillings completed here that later fell out and had to be redone by other dental providers. Having to pay for additional treatment elsewhere and put our children through repeat dental work has been frustrating and disappointing. After these issues, we contacted the office manager to request refunds for the failed dental work that had to be corrected elsewhere. We were told they would not provide refunds because "the work had been done," despite the fact that the work did not hold up and required additional treatment. I brought my concerns directly to the office first because I wanted to give them the opportunity to address these issues privately. Unfortunately, after continued problems and no meaningful resolution, I no longer feel confident recommending this practice to other families. I'm sharing this review because infection control, quality dental work, and gentle pediatric care matter. Especially when children are involved.

I called scheduled my appointment with no issue called a few weeks later after my appointment to schedule appointments for my children and was told they don't take that insurance at all. Even though I literally just had an appointment there with the exact same insurance they have. Even when I went to my appointment the lady that was there said someone else just used the same insurance and she had to figure out how to put it in the computer again for them to bill them. So unless they just recently stop accepting our insurance then someone needs to update their staff! She even said maybe I was meaning to call another company that was at their old building smh I wasn't even about to waste my time telling her I know I have the right number and company and that they do take the insurance! I'll just keep looking for another dentist!

From the moment I walked into the lobby, I was struck by the incredibly warm and positive vibe. The front desk team greeted me by name, immediately making me feel welcome based on our prior correspondence. That level of care continued in the exam room; the assistant was wonderful to talk to and clearly explained exactly what to expect during my visit. Meeting Dr. Minton was the highlight--I knew instantly that I had found my permanent dentist. He has such a soothing, gentle demeanor that made me feel completely at ease. During the exam, he was incredibly thorough and explained every step in a calm, reassuring voice. Afterward, he took the time to walk me through the specific maintenance steps for my hybrid bridges. I am so relieved to have found a "home" for my dental care. The entire team at Upstate Prosthodontics radiates warmth and professionalism. Only to my surprise- once i was called back- I sat in a chair for 45 minutes waiting to get X-rays done. Once I FINALLY got my X-rays done I had to wait an hour!!!! Yes an hour!!! For someone to come look at my teeth to figure out which cleaning they would recommend. Two hours after my appointment- they recommended a cleaning for the next time I come- so I was there in the office for two freaking hours and had to leave without even getting my teeth cleaned!!! 2 hours for less than 5 minutes of X-rays! What the hell?! For my second appointment, I had to bring my child- I though that he could just sit in a stroller in the corner- he had snacks, toys, a show to watch- he would have been fine in the corner- the hygienist walks out and before even saying hello or anything says " you can't bring them in here- he'll have to wait in the hall. A baby?? In the hall?? Umm no thanks. Bye. She was incredibly rude and slammed the door shut. My husbands appointments have been cancelled multiple times and rescheduled for months out. That place is a joke. I will never go back there or recommend it to anyone. In fact I will tell people to stay clear!

MALPRACTICE/ NIGHTMARE/ ruined my teeth/ Left Invisalign button for years…read more.. I really didn't want to have to write this review, but the truth needs to come out. This place does not care about you and they only want your money. I had went here in college for Invisalign and every single time I visited. I had a different so-called specialist assisting with my new trays. Some of them were even the ones who put on the buttons on and towards what was suppose to be the end of my treatment one of the assistance at the time said that she refused to order my Invisalign until I got a bunch of other work done which at the time I absolutely could not afford. I told her as the patient needed new trays and she said she refused to put in order for new trays on my unhealthy teeth. After being traumatized and humiliated I finally worked up the nerve to try out a new dentistry, and I was shocked to find out that I had cement left in my teeth and a bunch of buttons that needed to be removed that I was told could not be removed (two were on my front teeth that left me feeling insecure about my smile for such a long time...) I never finished my treatment plan so a few years later, I decided to try and revisit in hopes that things have changed. I got an awesome cleaning and then Dr. Hapney sat down with me and talked about the Invisalign process, and I wanted to know how much it would be to reinstate the treatment because honestly if I had to pay from the very beginning everything all over again I would 100% go elsewhere, but if there was anyway that she could save my case which she said that she probably could and that she would try... That cleaning cost me almost $250 and because of my insurance it had to go in for reimbursement. I told them that day to specifically send the check to my house and gave them my address. They said they would take care of it and months went by and of course I didn't receive a check so when I called to ask them what was the holdup they said that they had the check in their office and that they went ahead and applied the balance tour to my account, which is the complete opposite of what I wanted. They did offered to send me the check but it has been over a month and a half and guess what I have not seen the check in the mail wish I could say I'm disappointed but honestly, this is the expectation coming from this place... At this point I'm tempted to file a lawsuit. DO NOT GO!
