Not a good atmosphere. Very bleak and not much to do outside of fishing. Winters hit hard and are incredibly long. If you have a group of friends going with you it could be fun. If you go and don't know anybody good luck making quality friends. Went for a year and a half and would not Recommend to anyone. read more

Went to this environment for an interview. I've been in higher academics for quite some time. Didn't get the job but nevertheless it was a delight to visit the campus and see all the amenities from an administrative point of you. If your student looking to go, I would definitely check this place out whether you're in state or out of state. They have an incredible faculty and staff, they have state of the art facilities, it's a quaint campus they have a football team hockey team basketball etc. and their student amenities are nice if you are planning to have an experience of living on campus. Check out their programs, you don't have to take my word for it. Just remember Minnesota gets very very cold :-) read more

Meet the Manager: Richard H.

Dr. Richard A. Hanson was named 10th president of Bemidji State University in 2010. Hanson's tenure in Bemidji has included leadership of BSU's first-ever comprehensive fundraising campaign, Imagine Tomorrow, which has already met its initial goal of $35 million for scholarships and academic investment. He also has placed renewed emphasis on international recruitment and education abroad, increased administrative integration and academic partnership between BSU and NTC, and championed BSU's distinction as a north woods campus that offers students a unique and transformative residential experience. Major improvements to the BSU campus have also been a hallmark of Hanson's years, including installation of artificial turf in Chet Anderson Stadium, renovation of Memorial Hall, a public-private project to build a 56-unit student apartment building called University Heights, and the planned replacement of Hagg-Sauer Hall, a project that includes renovation of six other campus buildings.

BSU is AMAZING! I'm sorry that other students didn't have a similar experience as I did. I'm graduated with my BA in Sociology. I guess I don't know how the other studies are, however, I've had the most supportive instructors ever! You are going to get some classes where teachers are tough, but you just need to adapt to what their way of teaching style is. read more

We took their 'permit to carry' class and found it to be lacking - I felt they were more in to showing and telling us about the various guns they carry, than they were in teaching about gun safety, intruder laws, etc. I took the course again with another individual and gained MUCH more information. I love the store; the 'decor' is amazing and the staff is very knowledgeable. The prices are a bit on the high side, but they work to get you what you want. I would recommend Off Grid Armory to others!
