I grew up reading the Belton Journal and as an adult and a former Beltonian I have been an on and off subscriber. In the past few years it seems like the Journal is going downhill. Lately it's become unreadable. I can accept its political right leaning stance although I do not agree with it. But I can't accept the shoddy journalism that would make a high school newspaper cringe. Examples photos that do not credit persons pictured, proofreading mistakes, and leaving out stories and information that many people living outside of Bell County would like to be informed. The paper was never meant to be a hard news outlet but it isn't even the community paper it once was. Ever since the new owners took over years ago it just keeps getting worse. My subscription ends soon and I will not return read more
