Like many others, I hadn't seen a dentist since before the pandemic. Aside from skipping appointments, I also put my at-home dental care on the back burner due to some personal hardships. I felt embarrassed for someone to have to work on me but finally scheduled a cleaning for this afternoon. All onboarding documents could be completed online. Parking was easy with the dedicated lot. The dental hygienist (Donna?) was awesome--compassionate and gentle. She checked in several times to see how I was doing and gave me hygiene tips without judgment. Good dentist office. I have had two cleanings and both went well. In addition, I had a payments dispute after confusion around an insurance bill issue and Dr. Chen took time to write out a detailed, honest response as to what each part of the bill contained. This dentist office is amazing and I've been using them for the last 6 years. When I started my mouth was in bad shape and now I have a full smile. Will say my only concern is that sometimes during procedures it was terrifying due to the pain and the noises and as someone who is terrified by dentists I have a hard time sitting in the chair but with that being said all the terror was worth it in the end because of hey know what they are doing and I definitely recommend them. One thing I love about Doctor Chen is he explains everything throughly and everything is done in a decent time. When working with the hygienists make sure you speak up if you don't feel you're numbed up enough. HIGHLY recommend and their prices aren't terrible when working with your insurance. read more

I am completely impressed with the quality of care I received at Bellevue Wellness. I had to go in to have my baby's frenulum cut to help with breastfeeding. This is one of the only places that does laser cutting and my lactation consultant recommended it. Not only did they work hard to get myself and my baby scheduled, they worked to accept my insurance even though I know from experience most dentists won't take it because it's a hassle. They all were so compassionate and kind and professional, the doctor and the assistants, especially Jessica. They were so sweet to my baby, comforting her and cooing over her. The doctor listened to all my concerns and then explained the procedure in excellent detail, so I felt comfortable with going forward. The procedure itself was tough because my baby cried, but they comforted her throughout and she recovered very quickly afterwards. And then I think I felt a difference in nursing which is AMAZING because breastfeeding has been VERY tough for me with both my children. I would HIGHLY recommend this practice to absolutely everyone, especially to mothers of babies with tongue or lip ties. This is an excellent dental office! I have been to this clinic for several years and it always have been my go to clinic as the doctors there are professional and friendly. However today I had the worst ever dental cleaning by the hygienist. She complained several times that I haven't visited the clinic for almost a year. I didn't say much because I was so busy that I forgot. During the process that was the most painful cleaning in my life consider I had cleaning for 30 yrs. My gum is hurting for the whole day. They took X-ray for me so I asked if there is any serious problem. There is no problem from X-ray. At last she told me to visit more often like every 3 months. I'm not going back anymore. read more

I gave two stars because I really feel bad about giving a not so great but review but I feel like this is important to give honest feedback. I had fillings done about 1 year ago at these facilities as they were closer to where I was living. The doctor and assistants were great, and the clinic was really wonderful. However, I went in this year to a different clinic for some work (somewhere I have been in the past), and the Doctor at the recent clinic, showed me my x-ray of all the work that was done previously and it all was done very poorly. There were overhangs (causing floss to get stuck) and dents in the fillings that were just done, and my dentist had to redo all of them. I was very shocked by this and I hope this doesn't happen to someone else getting work, or it will create less time in between getting the same work done. read more

Dr. Stanford Chen and his staff were awesome! Dr. Chen is so caring and kind and really cares about his patients. I needed to get in with my newborn to have her get a frenectomy because of a poor and extremely painful latch due to a lip-tie that was making it impossible to breastfeed her. They got me in very quickly and the procedure itself was very quick which was great because it's not easy watching your baby be in pain but she was fed immediately after and didn't cry at all after the procedure. There was no post-op bleeding or anything since they use a laser. The improvement of latch was apparent the first nursing session after and is steadily improving which has made life so much easier. I know I have an obsession with dental care and finding a good dentist. I had an issue with one tooth that I've been dreading getting taken care of. I found BWD through Yelp as well as some online searches since we recently moved to the Eastside. Pros: 1. They got me in on a same day appointment for a consultation. 2. Everyone there was extremely nice and helpful 3. Office was clean and equipment looked modern and up to date. 4. The technician (sorry, don't know her name, pretty blonde with hair in updo) was so patient and understanding that the x rays was a snap. 5. Dr. Chen was patient, thorough, a good listener, and gave me confidence that he could help me 6. Price for treatment plan was so reasonable! Seriously, I just wanted to give them all a hug for that alone. Overall I liked the fact that the office was low key and that the dentist didn't insist I needed a zillion expensive digital xrays or anything of that sort. He took ONE xray of the problem tooth and focused on that. I have an appointment in a couple of weeks to get my tooth fixed. I am so excited to find a potential office that can be our family's new dentist (as everyone knows, it's so hard to find a good office you can trust!) but I am really happy to have found this practice. Talk about complete incompetence and dental (medical) malpractice. I made appointment for my son to be seen by dentist Chen. The two ladies sitting on the reception desk are quite unprofessional as they screwed up by not showing all the previous x-rays and other documents to Dr. Chen before he saw my son. My wife and I had made several calls before the appointment to ensure all the relevant x-rays and records get sent to the clinic before they see my son. We had X-rays taken couple of months back (wisdom tooth extractions), and last week (Jan 2nd), when my son was shown to the doctor, he recommended to take same x-rays again. When I found out, I raised hell at the clinic for incompetence at the receptionist end because x-rays are NOT something you take again and again of the same area, when they were already available. Dr. Chen did not ask for my son's file, which was transferred from another dentist (changed due to change in dental insurance) and when I asked Chen, he blamed my son from not highlighting it, who is a teenager and does not know what each x-rays is taken for. And after I screwed Chen (and his team) for not acting professional and showed him how incompetent he was and his team, and obviously this was done to bill the insurance for x-rays and other misc. charges, he apologized (after I yelled at him for being a complete jerk) and he said "I can't take this back" and basically implying what is done is done - yeah right but his screw up is OK from his perspective. I hope his kids also get exposed to similar things so he understands why exposing children to unnecessary x-rays is NOT good and is unethical/unprofessional and simply a corrupt practise, and should not be done. I am angry at their careless attitude and behaviour, and wanted to make sure everyone who searches for this clinic understands how incompetent these people really are, and there are too many other dentist in Bellevue area so why go to this incompetent team of morons! Good luck in finding a decent team who can take care of your and your family's needs and avoid these unprofessional people at all cost! read more

I am one that hates dentists--my anxiety levels are high and I truly hate dentists. As a general rule dentist hurt you more the normal but not this dentist. You walk in and staff will greet you with a friendly smile--you'll get your hygienist to take you back and you wait for your dentist and then from there on they take care of you. Was I in pain? Yes. But my surgery, root canal, and extraction was done at once. I will admit I'm nervous going in for my root canal tomorrow but this dentist is truly amazing and I know I can leave my anxiety at the door. Choose this dentist and I promise you won't be disappointed. By the way you will see someone who got a root canal done and says it didn't work. That person probably fell into the 10% that didn't work but these dentist and people are amazing. read more

Prior to coming to Bellevue Wellness Dental I had gone to the same dentist almost my whole life. I've been coming here for about a year now and have had many visits. The Dentist and Hygienists here are AMAZING! There is one hygienists with short brown curly hair and she is the best! So sweet and kind! I wish I could remember her name. Anyways, the staff truly care about your comfort and ask you multiple throughout your appointment and have no problem stopping if you need a breather. They're not rushed and they take their time of course unless you're in a hurry they will do their best to get you out on time. I know Insurance is different for everyone but any out of pocket costs that I've had to pay have been fair. I highly highly recommend them! read more

I went in to do a regular exam and I can say I will not visit this office again. The assistant who took the xray photos were very unskilled and kept on hurting my mouth. She would put the sensor at a place in my mouth and asked me to bite down in an impossible and extremely uncomfortable way. I have taken dental x rays several times before elsewhere and never had this sort of problem. It felt like she didn't know what she was doing. Then while Dr. Kate was cleaning my teeth, the assistant would stick the suction tube deep into my mouth causing me pain and gag several times. I was so uncomfortable and angry but I did not say anything and just wanted this to be over as quickly as possible. The dental assistant in this office seriously need to be trained better. This is not the kind of service I would expect from Bellevue. read more

I'm new to the area and a friend recommended Bellevue Wellness Dental. Got a cleaning (it had been a while!) and they did a fantastic job. Staff was super friendly and everything was clearly explained. I'm not a huge fan of going to the dentist but they took the time to answer my questions and really made me feel comfortable. I liked that I could watch tv during the procedure too - made it go more quickly! I think I've found my new dentist. read more

The receptionist and whomever answers the emails and calls are always very professional and try to provide the best solution possible. They are also fair so they won't favor a specific dental insurance over another competitor. They are not pushy about what you must get like some dental locations will (e.g. you must have your wisdom teeth pulled NOW or your life will be ruined). They will give you the best suggestions as well as other options, but ultimately leave the choice up to you. I have been following my dentist, Dr. Hsieh, since 2010. He is the best dentist I have ever had and for someone who is prone to cavities, I can assure you, this I am an experienced in. I don't believe I have ever met Dr. Chen, whom I believe is the main dentist at this location. Nonetheless, I can confidently say that whomever is running the business is doing an amazing job with this establishment and their employees. Fair warning, the nurses are usually a hit or miss, some are more experienced than others. read more

I did general cleaning today, I cleaning my teeth before, they spend 2 hours to clean it, but here they clean like 50mins. They clean my teeth not generally and do not explain the step about what they did. After my cleaning, there still "a lot" of dark mark in my teeth, and I mean so many. Before I leave I was asking what is cover with my insurance, they just say you need to do your filling as soon as possible, and not really answer my question. It is the worst dental experience I have ever had. I have a root canal that was done in 2015 at this clinic and kept hurting after treatment. When I came with my problem I was said that it is ok and the work was done perfect and pain should have gone away. After 2 years of pain, I went for the second opinion and the tooth scan showed that there was infection and canal wasn't treated fully. read more

I just moved back to Seattle and my previous orthodontist recommended surgical intervention but Dr Chen got a great result without jaw surgery, I was a little nervous at first because it was a big procedure but I am so happy I went through the entire process. Well, for someone who's been traumatized by previous dentists, choosing another one was nerve racking and Dr. Stanford Chen has been super patient with my skepticism, questions and doubts. But I'm sold after my initial cleaning by Yin and crown prep by Dr. Chen. Anesthesia has worn off and I have minimal pain. I'm back in the saddle again for regular dental appointments. I have sleep apnea and difficulty with the CPAP machine that was prescribed to me. I learned from a friend that Dr. Chen works with dental appliances that can assist with opening your airway. You should obviously get an evaluation from a sleep specialist, but if you do and you want to consider an alternative to CPAP, Dr. Chen can help. His staff is very friendly and understanding if you get stuck in traffic. read more
