When I went 28 out of 31 (probably 32) times in my life...I would usually get a book or movie from there...the 28th Time I went there which was 2012, I got a Computer CD with "Golf/Ski Tycoon" and that was the 1st Time I went inside their library. So if I get someone to take me to the Milan Melon Festival, the Brew-Haa-Haa, or just a weekend to see Edison's Birthplace...I'll make sure I go to their library as well!

The facilities are nice and they have a separate area for young adults that's apart from the kids which I always think is important. As far as online goes, they are part of the Ohio Digital Library so you get access to everything through Overdrive online, which is great. They seem to have quite a few activities going on all of the time like tutoring from BGSU students for reading for kids, seniors activities, story time for children, etc.

This place was my safe space growing up, I'd leave with a stack of 10+ books and be ready to go back in a few days, I rode my bike miles with my sisters to it during the summer, I still have some of the prizes from the summer reading program. When you approach a librarian whose entire demeanor and tone bristles with disapproval, hostility, and an unwelcome attitude, it changes the entire experience for the different ones. The Huron Public Library has one of the nastiest librarians I've ever had the misfortune to run into. I suggest you go there only if you are sure will be one of the approved members of the public.

The welcome center was pretty nice and had a small kids museum inside that was interactive. There's also a gift shop with cute merch, local items, maple syrup, and other extras. They offer tours of some of the buildings for purchase, which is a cool option if you want a deeper experience, but even just walking around the property on your own is enjoyable. Overall, a really nice place to explore for a bit.

Unique park in Ohio with a visitor center, working farm, historical house and so much more…read more We came on an off-season day in March so the visitor center was open but not staffed. We also didn't see anyone to give tours or ask information. The park is easy to find with lots of signs pointing the way. When you pull in there is a visitor center that has a gift shop and restrooms. Everyone's favorite part was the parrot. If you say hi or dance he will talk to you. The park has trails you can hike. There are maps in the lobby to help find a course. They mentioned a cave trail but the map did not have trail names so we were not sure what path to follow. You can walk down to the barn and see the animals. We also walked around the exterior of the house. Behind the visitor center there is a great playground that the kids really enjoyed. If coming for a visit I highly recommend waiting to come during the peak season so you can view the house and have staff to explain the history and trails you can hike. Lots of picnic areas too so pack a lunch!
