So the fact that she is willing to work with me and understand my journey, means a lot to me. I have been a patient with DH woonsocket for 8 years and have been able to achieve complete…read moresobriety except for methadone the entire time I've been a patient. I was always treated with respect and decency and even given "take home " priveledges that eventually numbered 27 total so only had to go once a month if I stayed sober and compliant. This is a HUGE incentive to remain sober for addicts and has worked extremely well for me. unfortuneatly recently while refilling my 27 prescription bottles the nurse doing the dispensing was too busy assuring the patient in the window next to me who was having his Adderall and Ativan verified that she too gets the same prescription, which prevented her from noticing that she was mislabeling my bottles with the wrong dates on 2 bottles, this in turn caused me later on in the month to take 2 doses in one day, twice!!! and while I share some responsibility in not catching on, i beleieve this mishap wasn't purposeful or caused by any bad intent it just was very unfortunate set of events compounding and resulting in me double dosing. I feel like my long history of negative drug screens and positive behaviors should have been taken in to consideration when they determined how to "punish" me . Apparently what happened was so bad and all my fault that even though I have been clean and sober with the clinic for 8 years they decided to NOT give me any take homes back and to make me start all over having to come to the clinic every day and get dosed like someone fresh off the street still using drugs. this seems extremely harsh and counterproductive to a "treatment center" or anyone where addicts go to for positive support!! Not only did they do this but they also told me that after 30 days I would get back 13 day "take home " status. They decided to not even do that I beleieve after they realized I filed a complaint with RI DOH because of the initial punishment I get was unfair and harsh. Methadone has been an incredibly helpful tool in my long term sobriety and I am utterly shocked that the Place I have come to for help and support for years is now acrong the exact opposite and doing irreversible harm to my recovery. the nurses and staff here are excellent but the senior management and medical decision makers ahould resign and let someone with more compassion and decency run the medical side of things here. greatly disappointed in what discovery house has become over the last few years. Dr Stone was the best Dr this place ever had and they need to get him back. get rid of these egotistical probationary quacks and bring back Dr. Stone

Do NOT go to Richard at Achor Counseling. Me and my boyfriend went to the Achor Counseling Center…read morein East providence. We had the owner and social worker Richard Figueira as our counselor for 3 sessions. He NEVER showed up for our 4th session at 10am. We waited almost a half an hour then left him a note and left. I expected at least a phone call with an apology and an attempt to reschedule. NOTHING! I even called the office about 1-2 weeks later and spoke with someone who answered and explained what happened. She apologized but we still never heard form our therapist Richard Figueira. How thoughtless and unprofessional. At first I thought his blunt straightforward style would be helpful for couples to get to the heart of the matter quickly and effectively. Instead, he was just plain negative and rude stating "You two have lots of problems that I do not know if they can be fixed." I think it's more that he is incapable of fixing anyones problems as he obviosly has too many of his own.

I've built up a great relationship with my councilor, which is why this review gets 2 stars instead…read moreof 1, but it didn't really help me too much and was hardly professional. She would use the phone during our sessions, would barely talk, and even misgendered me multiple times for months after I came out to her as trans (I had to aggressively ask her to stop, and I will say she made an effort but it wasn't too effective). I basically fidgeted with toys and talked to myself for 3 years. Never was really offered many coping skills, tips, etc. save for a few pieces of paper with activities that were clearly not aimed at my age group (saw her from about 15y-18y) mostly just had someone to talk to. She was frequently late, and quite a few time was not even there for an appointment (many times she was sick or had very good reason not to be, but no one contacted me and I ended up waiting for an hour or more) no secretary or person to ask questions in the waiting room, just a tiny window to the main office that usually has its blinds pulled. Good luck getting any help with scheduling or payment there. I went to their resident psychologist (no longer available I guess, thank heavens!!) to get prescribed medication. They did not take insurance and I spent ~2000 dollars to get laughed at and handed a piece of paper with "prozac" scribbled on it. I'm not kidding. This Dr. did not give a shit about me. She actually laughed when I told her about my past problems with drugs, suicide, self-harm and abuse, and then didn't even discuss treatments with me. Honestly, if you're looking for someone to talk to, be my guest. I only went here because they were one of the few places that accepts neighborhood, but there are many places out there that are probably more than worth the price.
