I ordered the margherita pizza and for €9 the pizza was a shareable size and tasty. I did request the garlic and chilli oil which both complemented the pizza well. I did prefer the chili oil to the garlic oil. Ambience and service were great. I went close to 6 and by the time I left it was packed. Being a tourist, I was asked about gratuity which I don't think locals pay gratuity. This was my first time being asked about it so since I liked it I did give a small gratuity.

However the quality of the pizza is great and you get to order it by the slice. The ladies who run the shop are quick and you get a nicely warmed up pizza to go or stay. There is limited seating next to the shop and usually difficult to find a place to sit during lunch time. They have a number of different varieties catering to most tastes and you can usually find something including vegetarian pizza choices all day. The prices here are reasonable and it's quite popular with local office staff and shoppers at the OEZ. If you want freshly cooked pizza you would have to order one and wait otherwise it is a slice off the pre prepared ones. If you are craving for freshly made to order pizza then you can do so here or hop across the road from the OEZ to Bel Mondo an Italian restaurant that also makes great pizza. This is very convenient for me as it is just down the road from the office :-)

Typically when you see platters of cold pizza on display that get heated up when you order, your mouth never starts watering. Not here! I actually crave it and try to go at least once a week for lunch. My favorite is the Antipasti Pizza. It tastes great plus somehow it feels 'healthier' since there are veggies on it. Although, I haven't had a bad slice when I do attempt to try a new topping mix. This is an 'order by the slice' type of place but you could also order an entire pizza to go to. One slice is usually enough, but 2 would be my max for one sitting. If you're looking for pizza that is not super thin crust, then this place is definitely worth a try! p.s. Allgemein Die Trattoria La Giara befindet sich inmitten eines Wohngebiets in der Siedlung am…read moreLerchenauer See. Rundherum stehen bis zu acht Stockwerke hohe Häuse. Es steht ein Hauptraum, ein Nebenzimmer und ein Biergarten zur Verfügung. An diesem heißen Abend war der Biergarten gut besucht mit Gästen jeden Alters, nur noch wenige Tische frei. Ich verabredete mich hier mit meiner Mutter zum Abendessen. Das Lokal liegt sehr nah bei meiner Wohnung und ist im wahrsten Sinne der "Italiener um die Ecke". War früher fast Stammgast, doch in letzter Zeit nicht mehr so oft da, weil es sich nicht ergeben hat. Doch dieses war wohl mein letzter Besuch. Bedienung Normalerweise kennt mich der Chef des Hauses und hat mich deshalb immer freundlich begrüßt und hatte einige nette Worte übrig. Doch davon war nichts zu spüren. Erst meine Begrüßung wurde gezwungenermaßen erwidert. Es könnte daran liegen, dass ich in der Vergangenheit manchmal mit einem zugegebenermaßen etwas schwierigen Bekannten da war. Doch den möglichen Frust darüber auf mich abzuwälzen, ist nicht angebracht. Ich habe hier nie Schwierigkeiten gemacht und noch unmöglicher finde ich es meiner Mutter gegenüber, die noch weniger dafür kann. Andere Gäste wurden überschwänglich begrüßt und auch höflich bedient. Einzig positiv zu erwähnen ist der Kellner, der uns bedient hat. Die Karte wurde serviert und die Getränke recht schnell serviert. Die Wartezeit von fast 45 Minuten auf einen Salat und eine Pizza fanden wir als zu lang. Auch fehlten Essig und Öl zum Salat. Diese wurden vom netten Kellner gebracht, doch nach nur wenigen Minuten schon wieder vom Chef abserviert. Auf ein zweites Getränk oder einen Nachtisch verzichteten wir nach diesen Erfahrungen. Verabschiedung war ebenfalls Fehlanzeige. Zwei Sterne nur wegen dem Kellner. Doch in Zukunft ist mein "Italiener um die Ecke" ein anderer. Das Essen Es gibt eine Standardkarte mit Pizza, Pasta, Salaten und diversen Fleischgerichten. Die Preise bewegen sich für Pizza und Pasta zwischen 6 und 10 Euro, Fleischgerichte kosten zwischen 12 Euro (Schnitzel Milanese) bis 21 Euro (Rinderfilet). Dann gibt es noch eine Tafel mit vielen Tagesgerichten. Keine günstigen Tagesangeboten, sondern "besonderes". Wir bestellten Insalata Fagiola (Bohnensalat mit Thunfisch, 5,20 Euro) und Pizza Rustica (mit Salami, Peperoni und Pilzen, 7,40 Euro). Die Speisen waren in Ordnung, doch auch nichts besonderes. Preise sind in den letzten Jahren stark gestiegen, gerade bei Getränken, Salaten und Kleinigkeiten. Das Ambiente Im Innenraum befinden sich viele Bilder und Gemälde an den Wänden, die Einrichtung ist gediegen. Im Biergarten sind die Tische mit Tischdecken versehen. Mein Wohlbefinden hat jedoch unter den Erfahrungen sehr gelitten. Sauberkeit Biergarten und Lokal sind insgesamt geplegt.
