Just wanted to share our family's experience so other drivers can make an informed decision.
My husband was working a permanent driving job when his Union Hall contacted him about another driving position that was paying more. He accepted the position and left his previous job to take it.
At no point were we told that the new position was temporary. After he started working, the company eventually stopped putting him on the schedule. When he called to find out what was going on, he was told they no longer needed him as a driver.
We understand that companies' staffing needs can change, but we feel the temporary nature of the position should have been made clear before someone leaves a permanent job to accept it. This put our family in a difficult financial situation.
I'm sharing this so other drivers considering this company know to ask specifically whether the position is permanent or temporary before leaving another job. read more
