My son received aba services from applied behavior consultants for 20 months. The techs are amazing…read morebut never really last more then a few months. Most likely due to poor management. ABC bills my insurance around 10k a month but with how old and broke the toys are you would never guess! The atmosphere is extremely cold and clinical. There is no transparency and if you start asking questions get ready to be treated like an annoyance. I asked for reports that are considered part of my sons medical history and was told that the funding source doesn't allow them to send them to the parents directly when I asked the funding source they said that was never a policy. My son needed a behavior intervention plan that was supposedly done and in edit for months... when I asked for this plan I was told NO because I wasn't trained. Even though my insurance said it is part of my sons medical records. I emailed the director asking her to send the plan to my sons new aba company and got no response. My health insurance emailed them as well and no response either. Finally my regional center worker was able to convince them to give it to her. They just make you jump through hoops and life as a parent of a special needs child is hard enough!!! They are still super weird about Covid. They do not let the kids play together. Parents aren't even allowed to bring or pick up their children in the building. Imagine dropping off your non verbal child for 8 hours and not even being allowed to see where they are spending the day. It sucks because the resources for our children are lacking. If you're in dire need of aba they are ok for the mean time but don't leave all your eggs in their basket and hold them accountable. When they say a report is in edit make them give you a time frame!
