I love beer. I never used to buy my hubby has me trying all kinds of different flavors and now I know exactly the kind I enjoy. I love the belgian ales and the stouts but i keep away from the IPA's , far too bitter for me. So this store has the largest stock i've seen of any other beer distributor. They have great prices and a huge selection. I love that they have specialty beers and even mixers of different flavors for alcohol purchases. They sell snacks as well almost a whole aisle worth. They have a small fridge section in the back for those who want their beer cold right away. They have alcohol free beer too like O'douls which my dad drinks sometimes. They service is just OK they are usually only helpful if you need them to locate something for you or when your checking out. They wouldn't even load my car unless I drove in front of the store. They offer candy too, lottery, and tobacco products. I love the fact that they have a slushy machine in the front that makes great ice slushies that are heavy and not airy. I recently stocked up on a few cases of beer. A gluten free beer, 2 apple cider beers and a cream ale from genesee. They price on the genesee was great too!! A 30 pack of 12 oz cans for $11.99. Can't beat that price right. Happy Beer!!

Some of their microbrews.

I've found our new beer store! They have a huge selection of craft beers. The best selection in the area.

I stopped drinking in January 2025 for medical reasons. Since then it has been amazing and at times…read moredisheartening to me to realize how embedded alcohol is in social life, and how easy it is to not feel a part of the moment when you are no longer drinking. The Open Road is here in the up-and-coming Garfield neighborhood to help supply sober and sober curious people, and really anyone interested in cutting back on alcohol or supporting someone who is, with delicious beverages that help you feel like you're not missing out on a thing. There are nonalcoholic beers, spirit-free versions of things like gin, bourbon, bitters and truly anything else you might need to make yourself alcohol free drinks at home. There are also pre-canned and bottled options where you don't have to do any of the work, nonalcoholic wine and bubbly, functional beverages with added benefits, the amount of choice is nearly overwhelming in the best possible way. It's a clean, open vibe in the shop and the staff is kind and helpful. I have bought from them a number of times throughout the year at various pop-ups but this was my first visit to the shop and of course won't be my last. They are regulars at Pittsburgh festivals and other events and I'm deeply appreciative for their presence in the community!

I'm not sober but this store is for everyone! I started shopping here a couple of years ago during Dry January. I now do Dry July or dry-ish July too They have so many options! Great for cutting down your drinking or completely abstaining. Also really great to pick things up here if you're having a party, get together, company over, and so on. I personally have a couple of pregnant friends who cannot drink but like Non alcoholic wine. This is just such an amazing concept as a store and it's awesome seeing places like this start to pop up. More people are cutting back or going sober and you never know someone's reason for not drinking!

Market St Grocery - This market is wonderful. Such a great addition to the downtown area.

The salad I had was fantastic and I enjoyed it on the picnic tables outdoors. Trying to enjoy outdoor dining while the weather is still warm enough.

They served Collefrisio wines and had great cheese plates. My friends and I would go for their happy hour for half priced glasses of Riserva wine. It was a very laid back atmosphere. I don't think the wine bar has reopened, but I visited recently for a coffee. De Fer Coffee & Tea is now the coffee provider inside the grocery store. I guess I haven't been there for a while, because there were a lot of changes! The macaron stand isn't there any more, and they have seats instead. I was so glad that I took my laptop with me, because once I saw the seats I decided to stay and work. While sipping on my oat milk latte, I watched all the Downtown work people come and go ordering custom sandwiches and hot foods for lunch. They have a good selection of food and the prices are reasonable. I remember one time ordering salmon, veggies, and something else and it was only about $10-$12. They served it to you on a plate, and I ate it in the wine bar. I didn't eat anything on this most recent trip, but I enjoyed my latte from De Fer. I'm glad to know they have seats now because I definitely plan to eat/work there more often. They also have a restroom downstairs that is kept clean.
