Beer Bargains is listed on the internet as being a Bargain Booze outlet. This doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I have just written about their neighbours, Yaus House, who are also called China Kitchen Chop Suey House and China Kitchen Restaurant. Confusion around names is clearly contagious on this stretch of Albany Road!
I'm not sure if this outlet, now definitely named Beer Bargains used to be called Bargain Booze or not, and to be honest I don't really care. Both have red shop fronts and a similar business identity, and they both do the same thing... so it's really much of a muchness in my estimations. I rarely shop here, and pay it very little attention. I prefer to offer my alliegance to the Springfield Superstore just a few doors down on the opposite side of the road, which stocks a much boarder range of products, and I like the people better.
Nevertheless, I have shopped at Beer Bargains before now, and can vouch for the fact that they have some pretty good offers on their alcohol that are regularly rotated. They also stock cigarettes and tobacco, soft drinks and confection, newspapers, magazines and a reasonable selection of convenience foods, (although, I personally couldn't justify buying the latter as it's possible to buy healthier takeout food at similar prices from about seven other places within 30 yards!)
One thing I will say in its favour, I am always impressed by how clean and well presented this shop is when I do occasionally shop here. read more
