What we didn't expect was the quality of the mattresses and frames, and the very down-to-earth and knowledgeable owner and staff. What they sell is American made, and it's really high quality. These aren't cheap components, and you can tell once you use them. The old saying, "You get what you pay for" is indeed true. We spent over two hours in the store, laying on mattresses to try them out. This was at the suggestion of Derrick (owner). There was no rush, no push to buy, just information, questions answered, and a whole lot of relaxation! In the end, we found, much to my surprise, the exact mattress for us. We had one of those air beds for 10 years-I wouldn't own another one. I figured we would get a coil mattress, since I'd slept on those memory foam mattresses and hated them. What we ended up purchasing was a natural latex mattress (Posh + Lavish) and adjustable frame. The first night we slept in it, I couldn't believe the difference! I didn't wake up feeling tired, nor did I toss and turn all night. Plus, before the purchase, we were shown how to adjust the frame (head and feet) for a "zero gravity" feel to allow for better sleep. It worked. Enough said. My wife and I can adjust our individual sides of the bed during the night and never awaken the other. The frames are sooooo quiet!!! I can't say enough about Derrick-family oriented, no pressure, and he and his brother delivered/set up our new bed and removed the old. My couch was worked on both sides twice and is now messed up and one side of the loveseat is now messing up. It has scratched my wood floors under all 4 of those places where the reclining mechanisms have messed up. They will only partially refund me since I had it for a year. I checked with the other local furniture stores and even Big Lots and they all said they would refund full amount. Big Lots refunds full amount onto a big lots card that you can purchase whatever you like. He refused to trade out an almost identical couch set and still wanted me to pay extra to get something from him. This has been my go to furniture store for years and it saddens me to make this review. The owner has a good reputation and he is really nice until he isn't. He threatened to not help me at all if I didn't stop "throwing" price numbers at him and make me go through the couch distrubitor. And I would have loved to go through them but they can not work directly with me cause it was so discounted to him that he would have to be the one to refund me. Now all my family and friends have to find another place to shop. Just so sad not to be able to support a local owned business anymore.

The manager David had said he would, at minimum, give us a discount on a new mattress and then withdrew his offer and referred us to Chris, the customer service representative at Bed Boss. (the bed brand) Dealing with Chris became an additional nightmare and his best suggestion was to prop up the 3 month old mattress with a piece of plywood. The following letter was written in response to the lack of customer support that I received from Bed Boss. Chris, A piece of plywood? Bring the mattress to you? Really? I've just spent a considerable amount of money on not only a new king size mattress, but also the headboard as well as a bunk bed and your solution is to buy a piece of plywood? It's not only disappointing that you appear to be selling an inferior product, but also have a lack of customer service and empathy, which should be more appropriately called "customer disservice". One reason, my wife and I chose to purchase a mattress from a retail outlet as opposed to a mail order mattress is that we would have expected to receive support after the sale. Apparently that is not the policy of the Bed Boss company. It's also quite interesting that you have no problem delivering and setting up the mattress, but seem to be unwilling or unable to send a representative to examine the mattress at my residence. You must really have some super human powers, to be able to evaluate a mattress by just viewing a few pictures. My guess however, is that you do not have these powers and that you are really just pretending to play the role of a customer service representative while allowing the company to stuff cash in it's bank account. Your claim of not receiving my initial emails is bogus, since I have the emails that I sent, which indicates your are either incompetent, or a liar. This brings me to your advice of bringing the mattress to you for an inspection. How am I supposed to bring you the mattress? It is KING SIZE MATTRESS! Should I fold it up and place it in the trunk of my car? Maybe I should rent a truck, and drive the 86 miles from Crossville Tennessee to Chattanooga? Yes, that would be a great idea. To throw good money after bad, just so you don't strain yourself providing customer service. My wife has not had a good night's sleep for months, due to the defects in this mattress. She wakes up every morning with back and hip pain from whatever defect is beneath the padding. This situation has prompted me to research Bed Boss on the internet. I wish I had done this before purchasing your product. Do you know why? Guess. The general consensus of reviews, is not only that other unsuspecting customers are having issues with defective mattresses, there are even reviews that have said that the customer service representative, Chris, is totally WORTHLESS!
