New to Midland. We enjoy trying out new restaurants/bars in the surrounding area. This place was…read morerecommended to us by a friend so we thought we'd give it a try. Staff is not friendly, food is average and overpriced. Tried to pay the bill and apparently they only accept cash so the waitress just pointed to the ATM machine. Thanks, there are plenty of other options, we will spend our money other places. I never leave reviews but I am so tired of paying for food/service that is subpar and just accepting it.

Do you ever wonder how there's some people you meet in life that you've never spoken to before and…read morethe first time they say something to you it's out of pure hatred despite never interacting with you before? That's the overall feeling of this place. There's only so many places I've been to where I've felt threatened by stares and could tell that nobody wanted me there just for existing. The owner who I can only assume I haven't seen sober yet has been very rude and off putting each time I went to that bar, at this point since you clearly hate your career why not sell the place and take that money to some other investment? Maybe if you have a kink for feeling uncomfortable and unwanted I'd see the appeal of this place and honestly if it was just this owners attitude I wouldn't even make this review. But it's not, the beers for some reason are $6 if not more for a bottle and there's only few select cities I've been to where I've paid that or more, so people clearly don't come here for cheap beer. I don't mean to disrespect the cook here either but considering how expensive that food is and having half of the menu be Mexican food is beyond me when it's not good either. At this point I truly feel sorry for the workers that have to stick it out at this place. So lastly we come to the fact that the bar only takes cash. I don't know any bar in the entire United States that only accepts cash, I have a feeling if you told the IRS to stop by the 702 would be no more. Last time I was there I decided not to drink alcohol and the owner looked visibly pissed, I got 2 pitchers of Diet Coke, soda, and I was charged $30 in cash for it. So clearly that's not normal and the owner hates me even though I haven't done a damn thing to anyone there. Truly this place fucking sucks and I wouldn't know why anyone on god's green earth would ever want to stop by

Corn bread is made somewhere in China. Dry. Not home made I am 100% certain. You would think they…read morewould give you butter to at least attempt to cover the dryness. No. Too expensive I guess Pulled pork has no flavor at all. Ribs were just ok. They want 32 bucks per pound for brisket - don't offer it till 3. If you want a smaller portion the price per pound is more. Why?,?,,, pretty sure I am glad I arrived too early for brisket. I smoke foods at home. With pride. The guests suggested next time we just eat at my house. Fries were ok. Get bottled beer not draft. Lines are not clean. Service was very nice. Food, even though off the main drag is 100% tourist type.

It's funny the atmosphere here reminds me more of a Southern Soul food restaurant that happens to…read moreserve bbq vs a bbq restaurant. I ordered the Bourbon Sirloin Tips dinner ($28). I got Baked Beans and asparagus with it, both premium sides so extra. The Sirloin tips were good, however the Bourbon sauce was unlike any Bourbon sauce I've had before. In this case that's not a good thing. It was saved though by the tables Slo's bbq sauce. The Baked Beans were excellent and slightly spicy. The asparagus was a big pass. I would have expected a bbq twist on it, however they were very plain. When you're seated they bring a generous slice of cornbread. It was excellent. They serve honey butter with it, I'd add cinnamon for a nice addition! The service was good. Friendly and helpful. Overall a 4 star review. Would I return? Yes, but I'd get a different dish. I was surprised it wasn't busier for a Memorial Sunday lunch.
