Amazing food. Amazing service. And the band Rare Form was epically good. The crisp Salmon and the Noodle Salad were my favorite.

My fiancé and I went to Beaumonts for happy hour and we sat at the bar. There were 2 bartenders - 1 had longer blonde hair (I think his name was Riley) and he was so nice! Greeted us, gave us water and menus and was very friendly. Then another bartender, (he was more bald with dark facial hair) had a group of ladies he was taking care of and barley acknowledged anyone else at the bar. He took our drink and asked for our IDs but then proceeded to ignore us and talk to the ladies at the bar. Riley came over and took our drink order because we felt that the other guy forgot about us. They both ended up bringing us drinks but the bald guy was being a little rude towards his colleague, Riley. We ordered a second round with the bald guy; he immediately made my drink and gave it to me but when he made my fiancés drink he left it behind the bar and chatted with his group of ladies. I wish Riley was our bartender because he was so nice but instead we were stuck with an egotistical and arrogant one. read more

If you want a reliable restaurant you found your spot. If you are a burger lover you can't pass it up. You can taste the quality of the patty and it's one of the best we have had in SD. I personally love the quinoa cauliflower dish that every ingredient is perfectly selected for an amazing bite. The staff is amazing and always friendly and accommodating when I bring my dog. 10/10 would recommend. read more

I was really disappointed. My mother liked her carnitas lettuce wraps and my father ordered the fried chicken. The fried chicken lacked seasoning as well and was a bit dry. We decided to take a chance on a new spot that offers Vegan options and ended up stumbling upon on a real Gem. The food was incredible but the real star of the experience was Taejon!!! We were glad to get seats Easter Saturday. I had two appetizers, the cauliflower and kung-pao mushrooms, both of which were very tasty. My son ordered the ribs, which were really outstanding - great sauce, fall-off-bone tender, plentiful along with huge portions of very good baked beans and mac-n-cheese. The "keep it clean" salmon was good, with elements of great - the salmon itself was perfectly cooked, fresh and flavorful, the pilaf had a lovely flavor, but the other ingredients lacked zest somehow, though they were very fresh. The one dud was the butternut carbonara - the menu description looked like it would be bountiful with veggies but it was mostly pasta and pretty bland. I would go back, but would do more prospecting for dish recommendations first. read more

I'll start by saying I totally forgot to take a picture before I dug in-oops! But regardless, YUM! Came here with a friend for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. They weren't very busy and we were seated immediately. Service was friendly and the food came fast. Their "coast toast" is a must try if you haven't had it before. If you aren't a French toast fan (like myself), I'm still confident you'll like it. I found the breakfast potatoes to be a little hard/crispy for my liking, but the person I was with thought they were perfect. I guess that's a preference thing so I can knock them for that. Overall I can confidently recommend the breakfast food. We didn't dabble in drinks or any extras on this trip, but I'd be inclined to come back for lunch or dinner based on my breakfast experience. read more

Front of house (male) was rude when I asked how long the wait for an outside table would be, he replied, "however long it takes for someone to get up". I have loved this place for a very long time! It's been years that I have been going to Beaumont's, but I took a little break from Yelp. Today, I decided to catch up on some long overdue reviews. My husband and I used to go to brunch here a lot. The truth is, it's not very close to where we live and we got spoiled, being able to walk to some great places near us. We have suffered from the same thing other San Diegans typically experience...staying in our little neighborhood bubble. Plus, with the pandemic going on, we have not eaten out much in over a year. We love this place so much, we almost had our rehearsal dinner here, way back when we got married (2007). The only reason we decided against it was because it's a little small for large gatherings and not the easiest to get to, for those not familiar with San Diego. We did have our post-wedding brunch here and it was extra-special because it also landed on Mother's Day that year! Our guests (and moms) really enjoyed their meals and the staff was super nice and attentive. I love the classic Coast Toast! It's a staple on the brunch menu and is a custard-style French Toast. Thier world famous french toast, similar to a souffle, extra rich with a hint of orange. So delicious! They have great shareable plates, like the Kung Pao Mushrooms, brown beech mushrooms, baby bells, crispy tofu, crushed peanuts, sweet chili glaze! The chips and guac are a must too. The most recent visit was great too. We had family visiting and took them for lunch. My husband ordered the Keep It Clean with salmon, wild rice pilaf, green beans, squash, mushrooms, arugula pesto, grilled lemon. He cleaned his plate! He ordered the Love Buzz cocktail with Old Harbor gin, canton ginger liquor, lemon, honey, buzz button flower...which was the entertainment during our meal! The bartender kindly offered up a few extra buzz button flowers for each of us to try. The kids even tried them! It was a very interesting and unique experience! There is a new, over-sized outdoor patio out front and plenty of other outdoor seating. You can make a reservation on Open Table, to cut down on the wait time. Wow!! The new items on the menu are out of this world!! I ate there recently on two separate occasions. The first night I tried the filet tartar and the sweet heat brussels. The tartar was perfect with a lot of different flavors and served with toast points. Not your usual tartar, better! The brussels had a sweet syrup with nut crumbles that was amazing too! The next time I tried the hamachi aguachili (melt in your mouth) and the Baja bass ceviche (very refreshing and just the right amount of citrus). Topped it off with a very tasty spicy margarita. I came for San Diego Restaurant Week: a three course dinner was $30, with an optional extra $15 for wine pairings. Our server was friendly and possibly a superhero in disguise (he caught a plate he dropped with super fast reflexes), and there was complimentary bread! Great portion sizes all around. - 1st Course: Cauliflower "Wings" A fun twist on traditional wings with Indian-inspired flavors, raita, and a surprisingly large portion of cauliflower. Only complaint is that the wings could've been crunchier; they were a bit soggy from the masala sauce. My friend decided he liked rosés after trying the rosé this dish was paired with, so that ought to tell ya something. - 2nd Course: Crispy Salmon The name doesn't lie here, folks: each bite led to an audible crunch. The inside was tender and flaky. The purple carrots were the star of the vegetables (and I didn't know carrots could be purple before this). - 3rd Course: Horchata Creme Brulee The creme brulee and the port paired really well together; by itself, the port was like cough syrup, but the brulee turned it into something beautiful. I liked the horchata flavor too. I also tried the other dessert (a chocolate gelato bar), but it lacked richness/darkness. It was surprisingly empty on a weekday night; our reservation wasn't necessary. I've also had brunch here a while back -- got the chilaquiles, which were okay, but nothing to write home about. I probably wouldn't come here specifically for brunch alone. read more

So I bought into the hype and decided to check out this outdoor dining. It was a Saturday morning (10am), pleasantly surprised there was plenty of very close street parking, we were greeted and were offered seats close to the main door. We asked for water and I asked for coffee with one sugar & creamer. when the coffee was delivered I placed the contents into the coffee cup and it didn't look right so I asked the waitress what was it she gave me and she said milk and I said to her but I didn't ask for milk, I asked for creamer and she stayed she could get me soy milk or almond milk - again I don't want milk I would like creamer but it appears that the restaurant doesn't carry that??? It would have been helpful to know that before receiving it!! We waited nearly 35 minutes for our two plates of food and it was all cold and dried out. Our water was never replenished and my $3.50 coffee was never refilled Sadly this place was over glorified and was very disappointing. read more

This place is fantastic in all the ways. There is a large patio space that will make you want to hang out and order all the beers. Do that. Its great and the beer/drink options are great. They keep you interested in what's next, they keep you excited about the options but they are so good. The food is so good too. There are plenty of brunch-type options and the fried chicken sandwich is heaven. Everyone around the table loved their meals and I dont think you can go wrong. Do it up. read more

(Food only): Came here for dinner in a Saturday night. They were setting up for live music that starts at 9:30, but I didn't stay for that. I just came to grab a bite. I ordered the crispy salmon and a side of mashed potatoes to share. Their idea of "crispy" means burnt salmon skin, so that wasn't pleasant. The salmon meat was pretty good though, so if you don't mind burnt skin with tender salmon, you might like this... Or ask for less crispy lol the mashed potato was pretty bland, and the portion was small , just a small scoop. They give some sourdough baguette bread. read more

I attempted to get a table for two tonight at 5:30 pm and was told they only have space available for those with reservations. I even offered to make it a short visit and said that I would be gone before fhe reservations arrived. This wasn't an option. I'll start with I'm and have always been a big fan of Beaumont's. They have always worked really hard to be a neighborhood type restaurant. They love the community and do a lot to support the community. Since COVID they've gone above and beyond to create a safe environment but still with good service and kindness. I think it really sucks when people can't be understanding of the challenges businesses are facing in today's environment. I wonder when people post a bad review how they are operating in their own lives with all the challenges due to COVID. How about a little understanding and compassion?? This was my first time here and oh boy did they hit the spot!!! I got the Greek Scramble (pictured) and it was perfect. The portion sizes here are large which is nice cause then u have a nice lil leftover snack for later. The service was great everyone helped everyone and they were all friendly. The live guitar player in the front was GREAT added a lot to the atmosphere. Definitely bringing my family back for a nice morning out. Keep up the good work guys!!! read more

Well I came back to Beaumont's with a reservation for two. I requested a booth when I made the rez hours earlier. Get there... have to wait. It's not busy and there are several tables open. I don't get why they can't pay attention to Rez requests. Ok moving on.. server comes to table to take our drink order but we already had drinks from our wait at the bar. It's 4 minutes left til Happy Hour is over. She comes back. 17 minutes later after we asked another server for her. Missed HH. We order our entrees and also ask for some bread as an appy. So the entrees arrive - no bread yet. So there it is. Beaumont's in a nutshell. Good food. Sketchy service. Only been here in the evenings for drinks and live music.... & it's the perfect place for that! The ambience of the place is warm; a lively but not too packed kind of place. Great music usually, although a bit too loud when sitting inside and trying to converse. The drinks are typical of any establishment. Being one of a few places in the area like it gives it extra points as well! WIll be trying the food sometime as it looks yummy. And men, beware- cougars are often spotted here. Let me just say that the minute that I left here I knew I had to write a five star review. The final restaurant that I experienced on my trip to San Diego, and it could not have left a better impression on me. My server, I didn't catch his name but I believe it was Chris, was fantastic, and made an excellent recommendation on the braised short rib. I also had the Chef's Whim soup, which was a butternut squash soup that I only stopped eating so that I could finish my entree. They've got live music, they're super pet friendly, and they really have an amazing thing going here. Out of everything I got to experience in San Diego, I'm glad Beaumont's was one of them. Service and food are slipping. Used to be a big fan, but for the price, not so much. Burger came out burnt, food was slow (maybe because of my burger ;-), took forever to get water refills. Beer list was ok and afternoon menu looks like it was shrunk significantly since last time I reviewed them. Overall, just not that rad of an experience and hopefully just a one time thing. read more
