Pat and Dennis (and innkeeper Margie) made sure everything was clean, comfortable, and relaxed. The large house is located in a beautiful location, secluded but only a short drive from Seward. Wish we'd had time to partake of kayaking on the lake -- and our booked activities left too early in the morning to partake of Margie's home-cooked breakfasts, which sounded great. But she did make to-go breakfast/snack boxes for us, which was a nice touch and very appreciated. An unexpected treat was that they served free hand-dipped (in chocolate and rolled in toppings) gourmet ice cream bars in the evenings, and even at the shack they run in Seward. Great place for couples or families, just don't do what we did... be sure to leave yourself some time to enjoy the breakfasts and the lake! read more

Absolutely loved our stay at the lodge. It is conveniently located a few miles from the town of Seward which is a less than 10m drive. The place itself is beautiful and quiet, sitting on a beautiful lake. Pat, Dennis and Margie were great hosts: Dennis told us plenty of amazing stories and knows everything about the area and the lake (don't hesitate to ask him questions, he will be happy to answer, he even offered us a private boat tour!) Margie is a great cook and makes delicious breakfasts (loved the waffles) and you will have the privilege to taste Pat's delicious ice creams every day. The room was great and had everything we needed. Great place to stay at if you want to relax or explore the region, strongly recommend it! read more

Our stay was absolutely wonderful here. We spent over a week backpacking and car camping in Alaska and we were ready for a place to rest. We weren't expecting to have such accommodations that made us feel right at home and we loved every minute of it. Pat makes an awesome breakfast with everything you could possibly want to start your day and Dennis tells the best stories all around. P.S. there's also kayaking and the lake is beautiful all the way down and around. Thanks again for the stay, Bear and Brittany read more

Meet the Business Owner: Pat P.
Bear Lake Lodgings is owned and operated by Dennis and Pat Perry, longtime Alaskans with diverse entrepreneurial interests, careers and experiences. As a bush pilot, Dennis has seen parts of Alaska that few other people have ever experienced. A 28 -year Alaska resident, Dennis believes that the state is unique among the places he's lived and visited because of its raw beauty and untamed nature. He currently makes his living as a psychologist, and regularly finds time for his favorite Alaskan activities--flying, fishing, hiking, skiing, and all-around adventuring. Pat is the owner and operator of The Original Gourmet Ice Cream Bars, a business that has become iconic on the Alaska fair and festival circuits for over 35 years. She also has considerable expertise in home design and decorating, and personally created much of the custom-made objects found throughout the B&B.
