If you've never worked with butterflies, I can tell you that they have the attention span of a fruit fly and are apt to fly away in a blink. But Doug was willing to accept the challenge. He arrived exactly on time for our appointment and already knew a perfect location for the subject. I used as many tricks as I could think of to make my little friends cooperative and then hoped for the best. We had SO much fun, with as many as 10 butters in some of the photos. I was a little nervous with a spirited, almost 3-year-old and 8-month-old who was nearing bedtime. It's been so hard for me to find time to do anything after work so I was already stressed trying to plan the family around this narrow window of time. We were also playing by ear with rain consistently in the forecast, so I was nervous about the conditions. Amber communicated with me via text consistently so I knew where her mind was at and miraculously, the sun came out and did so radiantly! It was like a moment of heaven and I wish I could have stayed forever. Clearly, this wasn't her first rodeo!
