    Don't use if you need to actually get the glasses you paid for or if you want good customer service. You won't get that here.

    The staffs are kids friendly, the Doctor is in the patients best interest.The office is very clean. They have good eye products.

    Every time, and I do mean every time we've made appointments there is always an issue with them…read moresaying it's not covered, and of course it is covered under my insurance but we have this big prolonged ordeal. And if you are looking for a good price on your contacts or glasses, this is definitely not the place to go. Today was the last straw. The people here are unprofessional and could care less. Save yourself some aggravation and some money and go elsewhere.

    I've been a patient of Halpern since 1998. I was referred there by my father who has been a patient…read morewith them since before I was born. I've always had nothing but good things to say about them which is why I was so surprised that my wife recently had a less than ideal experience there. Despite this fact, as you can see from my 5 star rating, this story has a happy ending :) I recently bought prescription Ray-Bans from them and was surprised how inexpensive they were after all insurance and discounts were applied. My wife drives a lot for her work so a good pair of sunglasses is a must. She recently has had issues with her contacts so she no longer can wear plain sunglasses. I was so pleased with how cheap and easy it was to get my prescription sunglasses, I didn't hesitate to refer her to Halpern. She met with the optometrist and selected a pair of glasses, but was shocked to find that they were FOUR TIMES higher than what I paid. When she asked why they were so much, she couldn't really get a clear answer, but they said they would call her back. That call back never came. I called them yesterday to ask why hers were more. As it turns out, her glasses were far nicer than mine. My wife is frugal to a fault. I know that she would never spring for anything more than the basics. She even was hesitant about getting them in the first place. According to my wife, these so called "options" were not presented as such. It's every customers nightmare to be fast talked by a slick sales person and that's exactly how this transaction felt. I went to Halpern's website fearing I would have to fight through hordes of employees until I could get to someone who could help me. Imagine my surprise when I found a link for their patient advocate right on their home page. It became immediately clear to me when speaking with the Patient care advocate Beverly that she was passionate about what she did. She listened very well and took the time to ask questions to confirm her understanding. She informed me that she would need to do some research into what solution she could offer me. I felt that a full refund of the add on options would be right because if they had ever called her back, my wife could have cancelled them. Now that the glasses are done, cancellation was not an option. Beverly agreed with me on this point and the add on options that my wife did not want were refunded to our card! I realize that no one is perfect, and mistakes happen. One of the things that separates good companies from great companies is how they respond to customer complaints. This experience has cemented my belief that Halpern truly is a GREAT company. If they continue to treat their loyal customers as good as me, I predict great things in their future.
