The staff in this place is absolutely awful, especially the owner. After I heard the way he spoke to one of his staff members...inappropriately rude and disrespectful, I will not be taking my mother back there. The only decent employee in that place, and the only one who has manners, and knows common courtesy, is the poor tech who they run ragged. Both times my mother has had an appointment there, that young man seems to be the only one doing anything at all, AND the only one who even bothered to apologize for the fact that we sat there completely ignored by the front desk for almost 20 minutes after we arrived. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt but this place really is the worst when it comes to customer service. The front desk needs serious help. I have needed contacts since my appointment 2 weeks ago but they are so "swamped" that no one ever helped me on the day of my appointment and no one ever called me so I could order them. I called twice to hold them accountable and was left on hold for 25 mins during one of those calls. I finally had to hang up and my problem is still unsolved. Staff was pleasant last year. Eye doctor we saw was nice, friendly and seemed efficient. The novel of paperwork we filled out prior to them even making an appointment was not followed. My husband did not sign off for an extra eye test yet got it, was charged for it. They did another test that 'he really needed due to some issue she saw" He was referred to a specialist, basically he was told he'd probably need treatment where needles go into the eye. After long anxious wait, we get to specialist and he is bewildered as to why we are there, there is Nothing wrong with his eyes. He even question who referred him as he shook his head. The same original visit, I got my script and was looking at glasses. While doing so, I was told someone would be with me soon. Soon never came, lady was on the phone dealing with a customer that sounded like they lost their order. Then a family comes in, the early teenage sons glasses are wrong, something about they went back to old glasses because the new ones made him dizzy. So I left, I went back twice, stated I need to get my script filled, was shown what rack my insurance covered, then ignored. I didn't care for the sparely filled selection so I left. Went back and the rack was fuller yet was ignored again. I'm thinking the medicaid rack isn't worth their time. I used my hand written script and got my glasses online, very happy with them. Ive already told them we won't be back yet we get junk mail and calls about being due for eye tests. Today I got another call/voicemail which reminded me to get on here inform others I highly recommend you DO NOT go here. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. The staff is kind but I waited for a long time to be seen. It's a good thing I didn't have plans after my appointment. On my second appointment, I wanted to get contacts. Again, it was a long wait, they lost my chart and questioned if I had seen it there (I know I had). They told me they would give me a call when the correct contacts came in after they ordered them. This was weeks ago and I never got a call. I should have never gone to this place. read more

Worst office experiences I've had. 2 years ago I was a new patient. Waited an hour past my appt time before being seen. Then they charged my credit card for the contacts, but forgot to order them. I had to call multiple times to try to follow up. Was told to come in and get some samples in the mean time. When I went to get the samples I was handed ones that were over a year expired and told just rinse them real good before using them and I would be fine. Decided to give them another chance this year as mistakes happen and the doc was great (the office staff is the problem). I explained when scheduling that I wasn't sure who my insurance was through and asked if they would be able to look it up. Was told no problem they could. Went in for my 7:45am appt and doors were locked until 7:44am when someone finally unlocked them yet it says they open at 7:30am. Once again explained the insurance part needing to be looked up and she said ok. After the appt I go to check out and they tell me sorry they don't accept my insurance. I was stuck with the bill. They said it's my responsibility to know who accepts my insurance. I thought it was pretty crappy customer service to wait until after it was all said and done to tell me. Yes they are correct that I am ultimately responsible to know, but I had the conversation with 2 people about it. Had I known they weren't going to do their part I would have reached out to HR to get the details myself. Only positive I can say is Dr Davalos was great and efficient. read more

Absolutely brutal experience. I will start with the positives. The office itself is nice. It's clean and is a great set up. I also found the front end staff to be very nice. But that is where the positives end. I arrived 15 minutes early to my appointment, and a waiting room full of people. Typically a good sign, right? If the place is busy, it must be good. Well, come to find out there was a reason for that. I was prepped for my exam and placed in a room. After waiting 20 - 25 minutes, the woman who prepped me came in to let me know that the doctor was running late due to "traffic on 13" and did I want to reschedule. I told her that I would wait as I already arranged to be out of the office for my appointment. It was over an hour before I was seen! The doctor had appointments scheduled before mine, and couldn't be bothered to be in the office on time. When he did arrive he was rude and unapologetic. During the exam I was told I have an astigmatism (I don't - confirmed by new eye doctor). Also when using the phoroptor (the machine with the lenses.... "Is it better 1 or 2?") he was unbelievably rude. He would ask me which between the two lenses was better and whenever I said that two were very close, or about the same he would respond, "No they aren't. Which one is better?" I became so frustrated with him that I began blinking back tears which made the process even more difficult/frustrating. At that point, he rushed me through the rest of the exam and sent me to sit down with another office member to put in new contacts. From there, I was taken out to the frames and had to sit through a hard sell on Maui Jim sunglasses - even though I explained I was not interested in sunglasses, nor did I want to spend the money on Maui Jims at an average price of $200-$300. I did not appreciate being "sold". That's not what I come to the eye doctor for. The experience was awkward and uncomfortable. I was in such a hurry to settle up and get out after everything, that I walked out without my contacts prescription, just my eye glasses prescription. I wound up going back to pick up my contacts prescription and ordered both my glasses and my contacts online so I didn't have to deal with them again. I found a new eye doctor, at the recommendation of a coworker, whom I love. He was kind, professional and very knowledgeable. When I left Bear Eye Associates I felt my vision wasn't as crisp as it could be and I didn't think my prescription was right. Turns out, that was true. My new doctor told me my left eye was over corrected, so things likely appeared blurry because I had to focus that much harder to see properly. I do not recommend Bear Eye Associates. read more

Runaway ... doctor was okay but the office staff discombobulated. First appointment they forgot about me in the lounge. Reappointed second appointment and saw the doctor went well. Call three weeks later checking on the status of my sunglasses they lost all my information. Then they found my information 2 weeks later we had to call again and they're advising me classes are at the lab. 8 weeks later class is still at the lab the office never called me . Got my money back and ran away. read more

The folks here are truly awesome. I've never felt so taken care of by an eye doctor's office. They are patient and attentive. Excellent customer service. Wonderful selection of glasses. I've been going to this facility for many years now & I've had nothing but positive experiences. The assistants & office staff are extremely friendly & helpful! zero stars. bad business. I spent like $500.00 on some glasses, and I had an eye appointment which my insurance covered, then I had to pay a co-pay $50.00. the doctor prescribes me eye medicine on the first visit. the doctor requests a follow-up appointment that's another 50.00 I had to pay. on the second visit, the doctor never sent my refill, and, to my pharmacy. I called the eye doctor to resend medicine he said I had to make another appointment. I'm like really I spent so much money within one year I cant get another medicine that's sad. the doctors nowadays are all about the money. I was a new patient this business treated me like i was a window shopper. I asked to talk to the doctor and he did not want to speak with me. I will never go there again. read more

Terrible, terrible customer service and service in general. My family will never go back. The fact that they said the called me numerous times and left messages on a number that has had no voice mail for years was not only a lie but should have been imbarrising for them. Instead it took a month to get one lense changed in a child's glasses and could give me no updates when I called. Only that they would call me back. Finally got the prescription filled and I go in to pick them up and the receptionist "shooshes me" telling me to stop talking because she is watching a video on her computer. I hope that video was titled " how to greet customers" lastly they want to charge me 25.00 for transferring get my records when their terrible service was the reason I needed to leave. No thank you. Im writing this review dumfounded with the lack of organization from this office and their staff. I have been coming to this Doctor for a few years now. The beginning was descent with signs of disorganization but nothing unnerving. As of recently I went back for a contacts checkup and everything began to unravel as my confidence in their capabilities diminished. I initially went in got a check up and setup for a fitting same day but they didn't have my prescription in stock. On this day they told me my lenses would be $65/box. I waited a few days and they called back to which I setup another fitting. I came back tried on and was good to go until I went to checkout. At this point they then quoted me $83/box and I had to advise them that's not what I was initially quoted so they honored the price closely at $69. I then wait a few days to try out the trials and called back to finalize my order. They said it would all be covered aside from a $12 shipping fee that I was just now hearing about. I paid the fee and several hours later they call back stating that they quoted me the wrong price AGAIN and now I owed $42 on top of the $12 they didn't tell me about. I then had to speak with the initial rep in order to get what they quoted me and the shipping waived. She was rude and continued to say this was a mistake and mistakes happen. I completely understand they do but they should also be learned from and given I had to correct them on two separate occasions I cannot say they have. In all honestly, I would not recommend this place to anyone nor go back myself. They are incredibly unorganized and will make you pay for their mistakes. They seem like descent people but are either understaffed or incompetent. Tread lightly here. read more

wow how things change, the Dr. was so nasty and rude to mean hubby, he even yelled at us, his staff was running around like a chicken without a head, Dr must have been in a bad mood, nevertheless, I gave this five stars util things really change, I am a cancer patient, my hair thinning, one of the workers call me a man, yes I didn't have a head for of hair, but my body shape says female, I never felt so disrespected in my whole life, I writing now because I have to find another Dr, do what ever u can, if you are driving down Route 40 and see this office step on the gas and drive right by,im hurt I thought this place and workers was, also misquoted me on the price of my glasses, Im done never again read more

I am beyond fed up with this office! I placed an order for glasses on February 17 and here it is May 13 and I have still yet to receive the correct eyeglass frames. When I call I get "we will call you right back" which leads to me having to call back after not getting a return call for at least three days. I was told the frames I ordered were on backorder (after I had called numerous times to get that information, not that they took the initiative to call me and let me know) and that someone would be contacting the distributor (or whoever) to see what the status is and they would get back to me. That has yet to happen. I paid out of pocket for the frames and what should have taken two to three weeks is taking over three months. I was given a pair of "loaner" frames for about a month and I am beginning to feel like they are going to stick me with these frames that I did not want and think the problem is resolved Needless to say I will never take my business here again, nor will I be recommending this place to anyone I know. read more
