I'm a medical student that travels the country doing rotations in different hospitals. Some days the staff were nice and other days, they didn't want to be bothered. The majority of the tables are not close enough to electrical outlets to plug in your laptop. For the first couple of days, the staff allowed me to check out a power strip. Today for some reason the librarian (Sherry) had a chip on her shoulder and would not let me check out a power strip nor would she allow me to move the table a couple of feet so i could plug in my laptop. I had to leave and find an other library.

This is a very large library and services of 21 different public computers free Wi-Fi they have one to one computer training. They have meeting rooms spaces, conference rooms that accommodate up to 33 people, small businesses resources. The girls behind the counter are very helpful well educated on what is in the library. This is a very spacious and well organized library. This library has been very helpful to us since a bad storm took out our cable and Internet service.

It is a quiet place to study and do homework, until the kids show up after school, then it becomes a mess and tons of noise, it is an excellent program for the kids, but if you are looking for a quiet place then you have to be early in there. I'm a regular at this place because I really enjoy being here, I love the activities for the kids, and I enjoy the days they close late, just sometimes they do close earlier than they should.

They loved shaky eggs and singing and listening to more books. We will come and max out our library cards... so I was glad when I could get library cards for the girls (max physical items you can take at once is 50, max online from Libby is 15 loans and 25 on hold). Now we don't have to worry about limits since we have 3 library cards. The girls love Crafternoon in the summer and the scavenger hunts around the kid's section in the library. We could spend all day here if I didn't have to work. The online selection is really good and allows us to save lots of money on books. We love the library and all our Cedar Bluff librarians!

Walking around I saw students studying, foreign people reading books or visiting, children reading with parents, those without home computers and smart phones using the free computers. The staff are super friendly. Books are available for a 3 week check out with an additional 3 weeks (2x) for a 9 week total borrow time. Call or go in to have your books renewed. The library offers children's activities, story time, and adult reading time. Books and media can be returned day and night at the outside drop box.

I wandered into the bookstore, next to the front doors. For $5, you can buy a bag of mystery books! I searched for two books for a friend, but didn't find them. They do have a very nice selection of children and adult books. Husband waited by the welcome sign while I wandered. He used their free internet to read his Apple News stories.

Unless you're trying to build a personal library I do not understand why people buy their books. Why not take advantage of those tax dollars you're paying? I tried to donate a couple of hundred dollars worth of books to the library - most of them hard cover - all of them in excellent condition. After lugging the books into the library, I was informed that I could not donate books at the library (they would not accept them at the main library location). I had to call so-and-so and make arrangements to donate the books at another location. This was the last time I'll try to donate to the Kingsport Library.

Rocking chairs, comfy chairs and study desks surround a fireplace, and are frequented by a cool library cat. A large bank of computers are available, as well as job resources. They also have a Notary Public, available by appointment. Bring proof of residency, to get your card. (Utility bill or letter from employer works, if you do not have a state ID yet.) This library may not meet metropolitan standards, but it is a perfect "third place" for one to relax within, between work and home.
