Although the covered bridge is small by Hoosier standards, it is still functional even though it was built in 1880! The single truss bridge only covers a span of about 57 feet, it's total length is 101 feet which makes it a little more on average.
Getting to this landmark is a bit of a challenge and requires folks to pay attention to their driving. Once you pull off SR 135 near Bean Blossom, the road is very narrow, lined with overgrown weeds, and full of twists and corners. So being careful to avoid oncoming traffic, especially the locals who are more familiar with the road, is a must.
Once you get to the bridge, there is a small bend in the road on the south side of the bridge where there is a spot you can get out of the way of traffic. It's not an official parking spot, but hopefully, nobody will complain while you get out and look. The creek still flows beneath the bridge and adds a pleasant sound effect as you walk along.
Although there is venting inside, there aren't any windows for visitors to look out over the creek. Very primitive setting and bridge, but still a cool experience to see it.
