The dance floor can get a little crowded between 12-2am, but that all adds to the rocking atmosphere of it all. Alcoholic cocktails range from 70-90ckz (so still cheap compared to prices you'd pay in the London), and as they have a good number of staff working at the bar you get served really quickly. Walking distance to Narodni trida where a number of night trams stop, makes it a good location to get home easily from.

Popocafepetl Ujezd is unique out of all the Popo chain bars, because since February's…read morereconstruction, it is one of the very few NON-SMOKING clubs in Prague. Anyone who goes out in Prague knows the pain of coming back home with one's clothes, skin and hair all smelling like an ashtray - so this is a big step and Popo has a massive plus from me for that! Drinks: There are about four beers on tap. There is a good variety of spirits and cocktails. Despite being famous for the dirt-cheap cocktails (tequilla sunrise and other longs for 65 crowns in the center of Prague - what's not to love?!), last time I went there it also stocked some lovely high quality foreign rums. Atmosphere: This one is tricky, as it can change drastically depending on the night. Sometimes during the busy events when there's a good DJ on, you can't hear a word and have to fight your way to the bar. On other nights it gets very quiet, to the point that given how large it is, it can seem quite dead. I think you can't make a mistake in coming here for cheap pre-drinks, though - worst case you'll move on to one of the numerous other bars nearby. Location: Popo is about a minute away from the tram stop 'Ujezd'. The Ujezd area is a good party spot not for large scale clubbing, but rather for a crawl along smaller and more atmospheric bars and pubs. It can get quite busy and lively and is a spit away from the most central locations of Prague, so there is no way you won't have options even if you decide to have a drink and then move on from Popo. Also, on the nights with good weather, there is nothing more pleasant than heading out of the bar drunk and taking a nice group stroll through the Petrin Hill (no more than a minute walk away from the bar) and enjoying the amazing views of the city by night from there.

It's a stark contrast to the more "sanitized" beer garden vibe further up the way in the park. They have really cool electronic menu selection abilities so you don't actually need to call to a waiter which I think is really smart given how chaotic a club can be. The electronic menus were also kind of cool because they had video games and whatnot on them, although the touch screen was really flaky and difficult to use. The place actually isn't that large-it's oriented as a L shape. Nice place though, can't give much more intel because we were only here for an hour, but the DJ was good so I liked my experience! I would consider going back and hanging out there for an evening.

Last night, I went to the bar at 1:50 and waited but the bartenders were obviously ignoring me and the two girls next to me. At 1:55 they said it was the end of the free drink special even though according to cell phone times we still had 5 min. This wouldn't bother me as much but they were very rude about it. They were kind of making fun of me and the other girl next to me that we didn't get free drinks. They kept pointing at their watches and mocking us. This definitely has put a new idea in my head about KU Bar. If they don't want to give out drinks the whole time, they should lessen the time frame.

It wasn't perfect, but for me and my friends it was the place we've been looking for. On the upper level the music was incredibly good, which made my day again. On the first day they'd played ACDC, on the next movie soundtracks (such as Ennio Morricone, Django, James Bond and so on... ). The thing I liked was also a approach of the bartender. After we drunk a beer, he came to us and asked if we need another one or something else. I've never came across such behavior of person who should stay behind the counter and only serve drinks. I also recommend ordering popcorn- DELICIOUS! I have to give well-earned 5/5 :)

Then we went to Giovanni for pizza and I was all tripped out on absinthe so I gave some stranger by the bathroom 500 crown for no reason, except I think he asked.

They have a large cocktail list (almost too large, it was hard to decide!) which are all reasonably priced. It has a 'studenty' feel to it, possible because of the price and it was fairly international when we went in! The music was a bit of a mix, I seem to remember, although I can't really remember much of it (ahem) so that might mean it was inoffensive and generic! We were recommended it to a friend who had been to Prague the week before and liked it so we passed on the details to another friend going the week after and he thought it was a great little place too, resounding endorsements!
