After using Yelp to call around for a last-minute prenatal massage, I stumbled across Whitney who…read morementioned that they had an opening. When I arrived, I felt immediately at peace. She gave me a tour of the facility, which included studio rooms for yoga, barre, Pilates, etc. Afterward, she offered tea and spoke to me about the various options I had for my prenatal massage. She was extremely knowledgeable and was attentive to my needs. I scheduled a 60-min massage, and I think I fell asleep at least twice lol. She was very accommodating, giving me pillows for support. I was interested in acupressure, and she mixed my massage with some of that. Overall, I felt so amazing and relaxed. If I didn't have an event to attend afterward, I would have gone back to my hotel and slept the rest of the day lol. After the massage, she gave me a few tips for acupressure techniques I can do at home based on any discomforts I had. She also educated me on pressure points not to do, as they can induce early labor. Whitney was absolutely stellar. I loved her positive vibes, and if I'm ever back in town, I will certainly schedule an appointment with her again. If you're in town and need a massage, definitely consider Four Seasons Harmony.

She is a…read moreterrible doctor along with her nurse, Lori, who flat out lies and regularly argues with sick patients. Due to the sheer incompetence of this staff, we are consulting a medical malpractice attorney. This "doctor" may spend all of 2-3 minutes on average with us, does not listen to patients, does not correctly remember / state patient history even though it's in the records she's reading from, extremely dismissive of any questions by patient, absolutely will not discuss alternative medicines from the ones she wants to prescribe ($$ kickbacks?), has actually walked out in the middle of a patient conversation to not return (inexcusable!), long waits after scheduled appointment times (regularly 1hr +), sent a patient home from multiple visits when regularly complaining of stomach / lower pelvic / leg pain informing that it's just cramps/gas (no testing performed), when in reality, it was cancer!, sent a patient back home who experienced what is believed to be several TIA strokes with absolutely no tests / instruction or follow up!, and the list actually goes on and on! Visit this lady at your own peril. If all you need is someone to prescribe an antibiotic when you have a minor infection, she's probably capable, but if you want someone who can actually listen, comprehend, and evaluate your complaints/concerns while considering your medical history, and then takes action based on the findings, this is not the person to visit.

Brookhaven Birth Center - Having birth in your own home with the assistance of a midwife is an opportunity that Brookhaven provides.

Everyone was attentive not only to my daughter's needs, but the father's and mine as well. I expected to be seen as an intrusion or a distraction; I couldn't have been more wrong. There were no nurses bustling about, no strangers coming and going, and no smell of disinfectant. Jeanmarie was never alone in the room, one of the midwives was there at all times. Sometimes offering advice or encouragement, sometimes sitting quietly in a corner, sometimes reminding Jeanmarie to loosen her muscles or breathe deeply or have a sip of water. It was all about my daughter and her baby, not about fetal monitors or updating her chart. (Everything was charted, but quietly and not in lieu of tending to the new mom.) The room was warm, comfortable, and clean, and there was an atmosphere of calm anticipation. Jeanmarie chose the position most comfortable and productive for her. She was encouraged to vocalize during contractions. She was encouraged to nibble and sip during labor, which shocked and thrilled me. (My first labor was 36 hours. I was not allowed to change position or get out of bed, and taking a bite of cracker or a sip of water was strictly forbidden. What a fantastic difference from Jeanmarie's compassionate caregivers!) I was concerned about the 'what-ifs' - what if she starts to bleed, what if she loses consciousness, what if her birth canal was too small? They have a plan in place for anything unexpected and are watching everything more closely than they let on. Their priority was Jeanmarie's comfort, progress, and well-being. Thank you, Brookhaven staff. Forgive me, I've already forgotten your names but I will never forget how pleased and impressed I am with my only daughter's first childbirth experience. Grandma R.
