Ordered. To-go order of crawfish and fries, the fries tasted like water with no seasoning. Crawfish was tasteless only tasted Cayenne pepper...had to add my own garlic salt to my takeout order. Crawfish was not cleaned properly and muddy just a 0/10 at least for this location. Seems like the crawfish wasn't purged or cleaned of mud. Whoever is cooking the crawfish needs to be replaced asap! read more

Honestly, a 3+ would be more accurate. BB's has tier pricing for their crawfish. Today it was $8.95 for small, 9.95 for medium and 12.99 for large bugs. We went with the medium. Want corn or a potato? Extra. And you have a choice between dry rub and wet. The dry rub was plenty spicy and brought tears to my eyes. Service was excellent. So, why just 3 1/2 stars? The kitchen sent out the crawfish several minutes before my wife's salad and a friends' Po Boy followed the salad. To add to the problem, the kitchen sent out the Bubba Lump salad without the grilled shrimp my wife requested. When they finally added shrimp to her salad, it was boiled, not grilled. That's on the kitchen, but the server should have caught it. Still, all in all, we came for crawfish and BB's answered the bell. And the ladies seemed pleased with their alternative meals. Five Stars for this establishment! My husband and I were extremely skeptical about trying this location out because of a bad past experience with the BB's Tex in Cypress! However, the Katy location was an entirely different dining experience! We were completely satisfied! First, the hostess at the door was a very welcoming and friendly young lady who greeted us with a warm smile. She asked us if we preferred a table or a booth! I was so shocked because the hostesses at other restaurants never ask for our sitting preferences! I gave them two stars alone just for how considerate and welcoming the hostess presented herself. We requested a table and were lead to a nice and clean table and the floor underneath the table was clean as well! I noticed that the establishment was pretty clean as we were being lead to our table. My eyes quickly roamed around the building checking for cleanliness, one of my biggest pet peeves. Their floors and tables were all nice and clean! A+ Secondly, our server Heather, was a very welcoming and friendly young lady with a fun and bubbly personality! My husband and I were genuinely satisfied with her professionalism and great customer service skills! Right off the back she took our drinks and appetizer orders and then she served us two glasses of ice cold water with lemons! We didn't even have to ask for the lemons! She was heaven sent from Professional Servers Heaven School! She checked on us regularly making sure we were comfortable and that we had everything we needed. She's definitely a peoples person! A+ for Heather! Thirdly, the food and drinks were very good! Our appetizer, the Cajun Seafood empanadas were not steaming hot like I would have preferred them to be but they were not cold either. They were absolutely delicious and full of seafood flavor which is a plus in my book. I hate when a dish is supposed to be a seafood dish but doesn't taste like anything related to the SEA! For our entrees, I ordered the fried catfish and shrimp with salad composed of lettuce and cucumbers only and my husband ordered the shrimp and grits meal! The fish and shrimp were fried to perfection and were not salty! The hush puppies are some of the best I've ever tasted! They were a little sweet in flavor and crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside, YUMMY! The coleslaw was delicious. It wasn't drenched, drowned, & soaked in mayonnaise! It was perfectly prepared! I loved it! They also give you some kind of toasted bread with both dishes and let me tell you, that bread was deliciously warm and soft. We ordered a second serving because it was so delicious! My husband's shrimp and grits were absolutely flavorful! Yes, I stuck my fork into his food! I just had to taste it. If I'm being completely HONEST, the grits looked dry when Heather brought it to the table. We are used to creole shrimp and grits where the grits are looser, does not have corn in it, and topped with a seafood sauce vs. the Cajun style shrimp and grits at BB's. My husband requested his sauce on the side which is why you don't see the sauce spread over the grits in the photo. However, we both immensely enjoyed the flavor of their shrimp and grits. It was a change from what we're used to, but it is good to try different styles of popular dishes! They were delicious and they had a nice spicy flavor to them. Lastly, I gave this restaurant five stars based on cleanliness, professionalism, and the deliciousness of their Cajun Cuisine! The ambience was excellent, not too noisy and not too quiet! At 1st walk in 2:30 on a Saturday several dirty tables (took about 30 min as we sat ourselves for them to be cleaned up) the poor pregnant waitress appeared as she had been only one waiting since opening. The Texas Twister way too sweet and they wouldn't box and seal for me to go as restaurants in the area so that was a waste of $12. I will say the fried pickles were the best we have had crispy light breading and yummy! The shrimp po boy was decent the bead was nice and thin. Saw the eat local Tx this morning of the one in Houston probably should have gone there not Katy. Will we return probably not. read more

I get BB's crawfish (3-5 pounds) EVERY Friday as my little treat for getting through the week of teaching. Last Friday I couldn't, so I decided to get it today. The difference in the quality on Monday's versus Friday is crazy! I ordered 5 pounds and couldn't even eat 3 total crawfish. The meat was literally crumbling when I peeled it, the meat was mushy, and it smelled extremely fishy. I am so upset because $50 for crawfish is a lot, and I just wasted that money. I could bet money that they gave me left over crawfish from the weekend. I wish they would be honest and say that aren't boiling today because I would have waited for fresh crawfish another day. We have never had a chance to try this, and we decided to finally try it. We ordered the 5 pound crawfish special and it was amazing. My husband and his friend have not stopped raving about it. I have never seen an order that full of crawfish. Great job! They loved it and we will be back. However, my friend and I ordered fried shrimp and fish. The fish was very good and fried perfectly. The shrimp, not so much. They were chewy and just not good. I love shrimp and this was not appetizing. The fries were decent but a little rubbery and cold. Again, the crawfish was amazing and we were highly impressed. Unfortunately due to allergies, I couldn't have them but I had 2 very very happy and full men. This was actually the second time we have been here. The first time it was just my husband and I . We both enjoyed our food . - the second experience is really did it for me . First we had family visiting so we called to see about reserving a table for 12. We gave them a time and they said they would make it work. We got there at the time stated and it was perfect . We didn't have to wait .. there was enough room for all of us and it worked out perfectly. Originally we came Here because my family was wanting to try crawfish . I have never had crawfish but I was hoping with our my first time experience that this place would be good on that . It was a home-run for everyone. Everyone loved the food . My sister in law loved the seasoning on the crawdad So much that she ordered some for The flight back home . I wish I could remember everything we ordered and took more pictures but we all just enjoyed our food and time together too much . I had the French quarter plate which was delicious. A couple of people had Gumbo. We tried the alligator sausage in the crawfish boil and it was amazing . The crawfish were delicious and had so much flavor . The only picture I got was of the bread pudding . Which is by far one of my favorites that I have found so far out here in Katy. Hands down it would be my last meal . We also tried the butter cake rum sauce and it was tasty as well . Our waiter was amazing . Wish I remembered his name . We stopped by on a Thursday evening for family dinner. It took a while to be seated as there was no one at the hostess stand. Once we were finally greeted, the server gestures for us to pick our own table. It took a while for our food to arrive. I do believe our waitress was training another server which may have delayed service. When the appetizers came out we had to ask for plates and silverware. The complimentary chips and chili cheese queso is new and yummy. The kids portions are very small for the protein. We had kids shrimp, chicken strips, and corn dogs. Ended up having to order extra food for our child. The blackened boudin link was delicious. The seafood platter would have been perfect had the fried fish had more flavor. We love the updates that were made but do think the seating is still tight. Will return during crawfish season. read more

The have two flavors, the original bool we all love and then their own recipe. Lots of flavor I'm both. Then we got 6 pounds of crawfish with corn and potatoes. About half of mine were un-peelable!! The tails would basically just shred and not come out of the tails. We were here around dinner time on Sunday. It was pretty busy, but we were happy to wait to be seated. Unfortunately things kind of went south once we were. First, it is my #1 biggest pet peeve when I go to a restaurant and the table is wobbly. This table wobbled every way: forward, back, left and right, with the smallest touch. Its extremely frustrating to try to eat when your table isn't secure. I told our waitress first thing and asked if something could be done. She agreed that it was super off balance and said she'd get someone to help but nothing ever happened and she didn't mention it again. So not a great start. Then we were told that they ran out of corn, and we had ordered three. No big deal, they asked if we wanted them to sub anything instead, and we had already ordered four potatoes so we just said three extra potatoes is fine. As you can see in the pic, we only got 6 potatoes, instead of 7 as ordered. Again, they were busy and running out of stuff, so not a huge deal. We paid, and as we left I realized they still charged us for 3 corn?? If you're subbing corn with potatoes, and one less than ordered, why are you still charging us for the more expensive thing we didn't get? I'm sure it wasn't intentional but just another thing that's annoying when you already aren't getting great service. Our waitress was kind and I'm sure trying her best to serve a large number of customers, but I didn't get a water refill until I was sharing my partners drink with him because I hadn't had a touch back in so long. When you're spending over $50 for a meal, you just want it to go a little better than how it did. I still love BB's as a whole, but had never been to this location. I think it may be worth the drive to go back to Eldridge. Smaller restaurant, less customers, better service. I also wanted to share our early-season crawfish experience, as it wasn't great. It was topped with a creamy cheese sauce that tastes a bit like rotel dip. The dirty rice was very dry and a bit flavorless. Everyone makes boudin balls different, so I would recommend just trying them for yourself. I tried the fish as well, and it didn't taste fresh or as if it was frozen before. Now, the service was great! My server was nice and my food came out very quickly. If you're hungry and looking for a quick bite to hold you over, BB's is your place. At one time this was our favorite place to go for Cajun seafood. I don't know what happened to them recently but the last couple of times we have been the food has changed drastically and not for the good either. Seems they are cutting back on quality and portions sizes. We had the Bedtime PoBoy and Oyster PoBoy with Gumbo. They use to come loaded to with Shrimp and Oysters that it would be spilling out of the PoBoys, not anymore. The shrimp was larger too back then and the bread fresh. Sadly to say that is not the case anymore. The bread was no longer the same French bread they use to serve, it was hard the oysters were over cooked. The gumbo was awful. Read your receipt carefully. We were charged full price for happy hour drinks and appetizers. We were also charged extra for a side that was supposed to be included with our meal that never came. Overall, the bill was $30 more than it should have been. It was all adjusted correctly in the end but it should have been correct to begin with. The queso was really good. We had the stuffed empanadas for a starter- filled to the brim with seafood decadence. We had the Shrimp n Grits and the French Quarter platter! So much good enough for your next meal. Everything was exceptional and exceeds the Cajun standards. 1st & last time here. My wife & I came for lunch. Seated right away. She ordered the shrimp boil, I ordered the blackened redfish. Her meal came in about 15 min. Mine did not. She thought it was okay, nothing special. She had time to peel all of her shrimp & eat about 1/2 of her meal (15 minutes) when the waiter came over & said, "your meal will be right out. Took 2 bites, both bites had fish scales in them & the fish did not taste fresh, had that off taste you get with older fish.. Collard greens had no seasoning or flavor, sent it back, requested a simple dish instead, shrimp & oyster po-boy. It came in about ten minutes. Ate 3 different fried oysters, all of them tough. & chewy, could not eat them. Tried the shrimp, not crispy, gummy breading with no flavor. Tartar sauce tasted mostly like mayonnaise.
