Good Grub, Southern Comfort Soul food! My friend had the Chicken and Waffles, which is their signature dish. Enjoy for breakfast, lunch or dinner! I'm not judging, any time is the right time for this one! I had the Pulled Pork on a sesame seed bun with mild sauce. The meat was tender and delicious. For the side dish I had a scoop of their Mac n Cheese, reminds me of my Grandmother's cooking. I also had onion rings, which were perfectly seasoned and not oily or greasy. This little cafe is small, but their home-cooking and family recipes pack a big punch! They are so nice and helped me make my decision because there was so many of my favorites it was not easy to choose (shrimp, ribs and hot links!!). Street parking is limited, they do not have a private lot, there is a parking structure one block north, its easy to find across from the Metrolink train station. BB's Cafe reminds me of going to a family friends cook out. They serve you the freshly made food in bio degradable plates and I think it adds to the family cook out feel. I ordered the entree waffle and the pulled pork breakfast burrito. Both were delicious! The waffle was warm and the breakfast burrito was a unique soulfood-Mexican fusion that works really well! The location is right off the street, so it is convenient to pull up and grab your to go order. They have a clean sitting area, and have flyers for local events that I appreciate too. You can tell it's a positive business to the local community. The staff is friendly and helps you make decisions if you're a first time customer. They recommend the chicken and waffles and breakfast burritos. The only thing I would have liked was to have water with ice. They only have canned beverages and bottled water. I'm not a big soft drink person, so having water with ice would have been nice.

MAN!!! This taste like you're grandma's food, if your grandma knew how to get down in the kitchen! Everything was absolutely AMAZING!! BEST COLLARD GREENS, BEST MAC AND CHEESE, BEST CATFISH I have ever had!! This place is a must go!! Ill be back in a few days! Thank you!

We decided to come here after church because of yelp review. It did not frustrate our expectations. The food is great. The chicken, waffle, and fries. They have limited seating that can only occupy 12 people on three tables. But service rendered by DK is awesome. The price for the food we eat is considerably cheap. BB's Cafe serves fresh ingredients and cooks to order. The Chicken (4 pieces) & Waffle costs $14.95. There's no line, and I waited 11 minutes. I arrived 9AM on a weekend. The chicken is freshly cooked. The skin is lightly crisp and dry. The chicken is not oily; rather, the ingredients taste clean and fresh. The pieces are small, and its bone is thick. The chicken had very little seasoning. It's a freshly cooked chicken with little flavor. The warm, thick waffle is more memorable than the chicken. The waffle is firm, fluffy, and filling. The melted butter and syrup added to the waffle's savory taste. BB's Cafe is small. There's three small tables with chairs inside. There's no bathroom for customers; the server recommended walking across the street to use the park's bathroom. Thankfully, they provide a tiny hand-wipe for customers to wipe their hands. Also, BB's Cafe does not offer water in a cup; if customers want water, they need to purchase a water bottle. In addition, the indoor dining area is chilly from the open door. Bring a jacket if you want to eat inside this winter. And parking is very limited. If customers can't find nearby street parking, customers must park across the street and walk over. I recommend ordering to-go. The staff is welcoming and friendly. They greet the customer as you enter and leave. Overall, BB's Cafe is a good experience. The food is fresh. It's not unique, memorable food, but it's a satisfying bite.

First time in the area and found BB's Cafe on Yelp so I had to try a Black Owned Restaurant and it did NOT disappoint. Michelle was SO KIND and knows how to hold a conversation. I learned more about her and her mom, BB. BB even greeted me. Customer service is TOP TIER!!! Now.... I had chicken and waffles. The price point is what really had me. But then the FOOD is literally chef's kiss. The chicken was fried so perfectly, golden and season so well. It was just right. The waffle is a waffle but it was GOOD. I really wanted the 5 piece chicken and to order Mac and cheese until I was saddened to hear there was no more Mac and cheese. I also went an hour prior to them closing. But I originally did go for chicken and waffles and I was satisfied. It is a small location and have about 3 tables that sit 4. I found a parking spot right in front of the restaurant so I was content but there are a lot of open spots. It is a great location and perfect for a nice to go order. I can't wait to come back because Michelle made me feel like family and BB's food is to brag about. I can't wait to try more if I am in the area again.

This tiny store front is really intended to be a pick up location rather than a sit down restaurant. There is some seating, but only for a maximum of 12 inside. Their specialty is their fried chicken and waffles. I loved their chicken, with its very southern, deliciously seasoned cornmeal crust. It made the pieces come out quite juicy and flavorful, and had a great crunch. I only wish they were full pieces, not 4 smaller but plump, wing parts. The waffle was not my favorite. I prefer a crisp crust. This one was spongy made from a relatively bland batter. But they did serve it with real butter, and butter goes a long ways to improving the shortcomings. I popped my leftovers in my toaster the next day, and that helped. I ordered an extra side of Mac & cheese (for research purposes, of course!) but it did not win my heart either. I am always on the hunt for a sharp Cheddar cheese recipe, and this tasted more creamy, like American cheese quality. I am also a big fan of a buttery baked crumb topping, but this had none. If we returned, I would most likely buy the chicken by the piece and skip the sides. Peach Cobbler, just ok. The crust was too doughy for my tastes and lacking in flavor as compared to another cobbler we had purchased that same day from a different Soul Food restaurant. The filling was also quite soupy. They also offer smoked meats which they smoke in a different location. Mr B ordered a brisket sandwich to go, which he later described as being too lean for his tastes. It had plenty of meat and was sauced up with a good tasting, sweet Bbq sauce. This came with a choice of 1 side. The employees were very sweet and attentive. And the prices were reasonable. I only saw parking on the street. Not sure if more is needed, actually, considering they are so tiny.

Admittedly, I hesitated before writing this review, but I feel it's important to share my experience. I purchased a breakfast burrito, expecting the same quality I enjoyed on a previous visit when I ordered grits. Unfortunately, this time I was very disappointed. The burrito was dry, overcooked, and tasteless, with very little cheese. It was so unappetizing that I couldn't eat it and ended up throwing it away--a complete waste of money. On a positive note, the young woman who took my order (the owner's daughter, I believe) had a warm and welcoming personality. However, unfortunately, good customer service cannot make up for food that falls this short of expectations. Based on this experience, I've decided not to ever return - simply awful !!!

My family is from Arkansas and I was raised in the Midwest -frequent family road trips to the south. I definitely know good soul food and southern food when I see it and taste it. I've been wanting to pop into this place for some get all fried chicken and sides and just get a hospitality and so they stay in particular I was able to do that. I got to tell you the service was just beautiful definitely hospitality from the south. The food? I really big let down. I actually ordered fish with sides which was greens and mac & cheese. I also ordered the wings which was with greens and mac & cheese; I had plans on eating half of each and taking the rest to work. The fish just didn't have that bold flavor that I'm use to--was it good ? yes but I wouldn't ordered again. Wings?? They actually made me angry! Those are not wings that you get an a soul food restaurant those were drumettes. I was so disappointed pain I think it was like 11 bucks for it and you open the box and there's literally like five really overcooked wings in there and not even what I consider wings, ? drumettes. As far as the greens delicious as far as the mac & cheese delicious. I really really wanted to like the entrées , but I have to be honest and I would say to the owner; all feedback is positive. read more

I've been wanting to try BB's Cafe for months, but the timing just hasn't been right. It all worked out yesterday and it was definitely worth the wait. I ended up getting the Chicken and Waffles and J grabbed the Fried Fish (red snapper). Everything came out HOT which is huge for me. The chicken stood out to me as different in a really good way. The batter reminds me of another spot with 11 herbs and spices, but without the saltiness. I prefer BB's since it comes with some tangy hot sauce that really compliments the flavor of the chicken. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! The waffle was really good, but the chicken stole the show. I ended up getting 3 more wings FOR DESSERT cause it was good like that. J really liked the fried fish and says he's coming back for more. The fries looked like boring steak fries, but they put some magic on them and also cooked them just right. Fries are really good. BB knows what's she's doing. No joke. We really enjoyed Michelle coming out to chit chat a bit, and she was genuinely interested in the feedback on the food. You can tell they care. I really enjoyed the Keith Sweat, Usher, and Color Me Bad in the background. Music level was perfect! You can chill and listen, or hold a comfortable conversation. Overall I really like this spot. You know me, I'm only posting about really good or really bad, and obviously BB's made the cut for really good! I'm looking forward to getting more wings and I'm also going to try the Breakfast Burrito and the Pulled Pork. I'm not one to plan out my next selection, but BB's has me hooked. Update: I went back to try the breakfast burrito. All I can say is WOW! The potatoes are cooked perfectly, fully cooked, good crispy bits, none of this undercooked potato stuff going on. Bits of perfectly crisped bacon and I think there was some ham also. The eggs were fluffy and blended in. No beans in this burrito and I have to say they weren't missed. I topped it with their salsa and I was just blown away the entire meal. Believe the hype, this spot is on point! read more

Best chicken and waffles ever. Saturday breakfast with hubby. We both had chicken and waffles. Price point perfect. Two hefty plates of waffles and chicken with coffee $25 with tip. Chicken perfectly cooked. No breading, just a light dredge and super crispy skin and succulent chicken inside. Waffle was delicious and super flavorful. Served with real butter too. Everything came hot fresh from fryer and waffle iron. Met BB and she is a delight. Staff pleasant. Service prompt. Do yourself a favor and come here. Only three tables, but I bet the lunch/dinner takout if fabulous. We'll do that next time. Love that the menu is limited and they do what they do right. read more

I came here with my daughter and Mom. My daughter ordered the chicken and waffle. My Mom and I ordered the Fried Catfish. The Catfish plate came with two sides. I got the yams and collard greens. My Mom got the collard greens and macaroni and cheese. Everything tasted so good. The collard greens taste like my mom's greens. They make them with smoked turkey. The yams were sweet but not too sweet. The hushpuppies were tasty too. I didn't finish my food. I tried. Sweet Tea and Kool aid are refillable. Will definitely be back. read more

Great food for a great price! The high rating is for a reason. Items purchased: Chicken and waffles, hot link burrito, Mac and cheese, peach cobbler, and a lemonade. The wings served with the chicken and waffles were seasoned incredibly well! Pairing with the sweet chewy buttery waffle, it was the perfect breakfast! The peach cobbler was okay, just a little watery for my liking. The lemonade was a perfect refresher. My friend got the hot link breakfast burrito at the cashiers recommendation, despite his disliking for hot links, and loved it! We also split the mac and cheese which was superb! With quick and friendly customer service, I often recommend this place for breakfast/brunch to my friends :) read more

Yummmy and good service... chicken could use more seasoning but once you dip it in hot sauce, it is all good. Red snapper, corn bread, greens, waffles alllll good.. Mac Nd cheese could use slight more-seasoning and be more cheesy. Over all experience was good. I will be returning to try some more food. read more

breakfast burrito had very, very burnt potatoes , what looked like frozen hash brown patties. Not sure if any seasoning was used on the eggs ..if there was , it was probably covered up by the burnt taste. Salsa or ketchup would have been a good bandaid but they charge for a little container of flavorless watery salsa. I came here about three years ago for lunch and thought it was alright so I thought i'd give it a shot. My lady friend wasn't too impressed with her burrito either. barely any hot links , skimped her out. I think this place is a little overrated, too expensive to be cheap on ingredients . I don't mean to be rude , only honest . I believe the good reviews are from people with no taste/ never had excellent soul food. The Collard and yams are obviously canned. Cmon lol on a positive note , the staff was friendly and the playlist of music was good.. Gotta go back to the drawing board if you can't make a good breakfast burrito. Needed to get a bite before checking in, we found the perfect spot!! BB's was delicious and made with love, everything was delicious! From the Fried fish to the Fried chicken and that's not even mentioned the well made Mac and Cheese and Collard Greens! Tried it for the first time, it was good and pricing matched the taste. I went back the next day for the same 3 pc chicken and waffles. I would have given them a full 5 stars but I was calling to place a phone order on my second visit and no answer. When I walked it a few minutes after I called, there was only one customer eating, no one ahead of me and 2 girls behind the counter chit chatting. I'm sure one of them could of answered. Aside from that small complaint, good food comes out of that kitchen. read more

Great little place that I always pass on the way to the Metrolink. Not very busy on the Friday morning I came. Was welcomed very warmly by2 ladies. This is a quaint little restaurant with limited seating but I thought it was perfect. I went on a Saturday at noon for the first time. I ordered a waffle and coffee and I thought they were both delicious. My friend, who isn't a huge fan of waffles, ordered a waffle with bacon and she said she loved it. Believe, the, hype!!!! Last week a rather gloomy Saturday morning with me and daughter and she wanted waffles for breakfast. Found this on yelp, it's just close enough and has good reviews (didn't bother to read) got there wasn't impressed, small, and no customers (more came later on tho, we just got lucky as turns out). First time there so went basic, chicken and waffles, my daughter opted for just waffles. Took a little longer then expected for food to be served, and when it come out, they were served on paper plates. Had zero expectations at that point, figure would be the typical wing street chicken, Denny's waffle type.... but, I could NOT be more wrong. Me and my daughter were both speechless when we took our first bite. The chicken was juicy and tender, has a spice I haven't tasted before. The waffles, was just to die for. Each bite was unbelievably flavorful, the syrup was merely a robin to its batman. Both together was so amazing delicious, I m still thinking about it 6 days later and can't wait to go back again tomo morning! read more

Very warm and friendly environment. The hospitality was amazing, this is why I love these mom and pop shops because they really care for the customers. They are relatively new: only been in business for 6 months, but their food quality is exceptionally amazing. I've tried other soul foods before, this one ranks on top. We had the chicken and waffles and breakfast burrito, both amazing. The waffle was like a warm summer blanket that just wrapped around me. Very fluffy, unlike other chain brands that makes them too dry. Also the maple syrup and a small hint of cinnamon flavor complemented the taste very well. In addition the fried chicken was very juicy and crispy. I do have to say it's kinda hard to find this cafe because GPS always point into the center of the plaza. Last time we tried to come here we missed it so we went elsewhere, but once you find it, it's like a diamond in the rough. read more

I really love this place. the people who run this place are very friendly. this was one of the first soul food places to open up in the area and there's a reason why people keep coming back. I've been here a couple times already and I love whatever magical sauce they make that goes with the chicken. The chicken is perfectly crispy and melts in your mouth. I've also tried the peach cobbler which is delicious. Every time I come back from college this is the food place that I ask for. read more

Ok first of all, let me issue this disclaimer...I am tough on soul food. With being from New Orleans, it's difficult to impress me with soul food. Now that that's out of the way... Mac n cheese - good Baked beans - really good Greens -ok Chicken wings - good Hush puppies - good and I don't normally like hush puppies Catfish - so so Potato salad - I didn't like it Red koolaide - very good Just my opinion...try it for yourself read more

I am from the south, so knowing what it is suppose to taste like you tend to compare every place that claims they have soul food to what you grew up eating. I had to check the kitchen to make sure they didn't fly my Mama over here to help them out. The Mac N Cheese and Peach Cobbler are exactly like my Mom's. The collard greens are exactly the way I make them, but a touch salty. The breakfast burrito with bacon was so delicious with lots of flavor, but just needs to be wrapped a little better. Salsa for the burrito was good. My husband had the hot link sandwich and said it was really good. The sweet tea was light on the tea and mostly sugar, but still good. Maybe just add more tea bags and that would make it perfect. Hush puppies were exactly the way they are made where I grew up, but they usually serve them with cocktail or tarter sauce. The place is very small and has only 3 tables on the inside, but still comfortable. Also, it looks as though there is only street parking. It is very clean and decorated nicely. The service is exceptional and everyone was very friendly. And to quote what my husband told the owner, "It's slap yo' mama good." Silly man. We will definitely be back to try out more of their menu items. Delicious! read more

BB's Cafe is outstanding. Soul food that truly feeds your soul. We had the breakfast burritos. OMG they were outstanding. We ordered fried chicken, collard greens, mac and cheese, Cole shaw, baked beans, and a hot link sausage sandwich. The food was seasoned perfectly. The portions were very good. But the prices are unbelievably low. The customer service is friendly and professional. It was such a pleasure to enter into the restaurant and see people smiling and to be greeted by the young lady taking our order with a smile on her face also. I completely support this restaurant and pray success for this business. Try the food for yourselves and you will see and taste my point. read more

The wait time was about 25-30 minutes, which they did mention ahead of time. One thing to note is that when we went, it was cash only because the card machine wasn't working. They accepted Zelle, but it would be helpful to have a sign posted. The place is small, but the customer service was great. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, and the staff overall seemed on point. Overall, the food was decent, but nothing that would make me come back.

We got lumpiang Shanghai (mini egg rolls with ground pork and shrimp) and a mix of bihon and canton. Most items serve three to four people, so come with a hungry party and prepare to take leftovers home. The crispy pata (a deep-fried pork knuckle) had a lot of flavorful and juicy meat. While this dish is inherently fatty, there is still meat to cut off. The kare kare (beef chunks, tripe, and vegetables with a braised peanut gravy) tasted good. The rich flavor was also influenced by vegetables, such as eggplants and long beans. Some of the beef chunks were a little fatty. The lumpiang Shanghai arrived late into our lunch because we had to follow up with our server. While they currently charge $23 just for this appetizer, the portion size was much too small. It seems that with this specific package, you'd get a smaller appetizer portion. The bihon (thin rice noodles) and canton (thick egg noodles) pancit mix tasted adequate, and we had no complaints. I enjoyed the kenchi steak the most. This dish is beef shin topped with bone marrow served on a sizzling plate with gravy and vegetables. The beef had a thick texture, and the potatoes tasted soft and lovely. It was filling and noticeably better than the items in the tipid package in my opinion. Lastly, even though we visited around noon, they unfortunately didn't have halo-halo (a Filipino milky shaved ice with fruits and preserves) available as a dessert. At the end of the day, this is a solid restaurant with large portions and well-seasoned flavors. I definitely see why it's a family favorite for many.

I tried their Big Daddy Burrito, and let me tell you--it was absolutely phenomenal. Stuffed with perfectly smoked meats and just the right amount of sauce, it's the perfect BBQ burrito. BB's Cafe's slogan should be "come hungry, and leave as family". My Family and my self (group of 10) are staying near by on vacation, and were looking for a place for breakfast. A quick google search lead us to BB's, and it did not disappoint! It's has a small seating area, and a simple menu. All the food was cooked by Mom and everything was amazing, and delicious. Absolutely love this place. It's woman owned which makes it even better. It taste like somebody granny trapped in the back cooking cause goddamn it is good. This is probably my favorite place in OC. If you're going to splurge, this is the right place. It is located in a plaza and they have so many different kinds of brwakfast which in my opinion are the best in town. Food here was amazing. The waffles we got was fluffy and the chickens were juicy. But what was more amazing was the person serving us, Michelle (if that is how it is spelled). She was so nice and funny. Recommended to take your kids here, she'll make them eat your food! read more
