100/10!! Delicious, a must try if you're in the area. The staff was incredibly friendly, the inside is small, but do not underestimate this place. Was recommended by a friend and well worth it! We will return.

Good Grub, Southern Comfort Soul food! My friend had the Chicken and Waffles, which is their signature dish. Enjoy for breakfast, lunch or dinner! I'm not judging, any time is the right time for this one! I had the Pulled Pork on a sesame seed bun with mild sauce. The meat was tender and delicious. For the side dish I had a scoop of their Mac n Cheese, reminds me of my Grandmother's cooking. I also had onion rings, which were perfectly seasoned and not oily or greasy. This little cafe is small, but their home-cooking and family recipes pack a big punch! They are so nice and helped me make my decision because there was so many of my favorites it was not easy to choose (shrimp, ribs and hot links!!). Street parking is limited, they do not have a private lot, there is a parking structure one block north, its easy to find across from the Metrolink train station. BB's Cafe reminds me of going to a family friends cook out. They serve you the freshly made food in bio degradable plates and I think it adds to the family cook out feel. I ordered the entree waffle and the pulled pork breakfast burrito. Both were delicious! The waffle was warm and the breakfast burrito was a unique soulfood-Mexican fusion that works really well! The location is right off the street, so it is convenient to pull up and grab your to go order. They have a clean sitting area, and have flyers for local events that I appreciate too. You can tell it's a positive business to the local community. The staff is friendly and helps you make decisions if you're a first time customer. They recommend the chicken and waffles and breakfast burritos. The only thing I would have liked was to have water with ice. They only have canned beverages and bottled water. I'm not a big soft drink person, so having water with ice would have been nice.

MAN!!! This taste like you're grandma's food, if your grandma knew how to get down in the kitchen! Everything was absolutely AMAZING!! BEST COLLARD GREENS, BEST MAC AND CHEESE, BEST CATFISH I have ever had!! This place is a must go!! Ill be back in a few days! Thank you!

We decided to come here after church because of yelp review. It did not frustrate our expectations. The food is great. The chicken, waffle, and fries. They have limited seating that can only occupy 12 people on three tables. But service rendered by DK is awesome. The price for the food we eat is considerably cheap. I will give this experience with 4.8.

BB's Cafe serves fresh ingredients and cooks to order. The Chicken (4 pieces) & Waffle costs $14.95. There's no line, and I waited 11 minutes. I arrived 9AM on a weekend. The chicken is freshly cooked. The skin is lightly crisp and dry. The chicken is not oily; rather, the ingredients taste clean and fresh. The pieces are small, and its bone is thick. The chicken had very little seasoning. It's a freshly cooked chicken with little flavor. The warm, thick waffle is more memorable than the chicken. The waffle is firm, fluffy, and filling. The melted butter and syrup added to the waffle's savory taste. BB's Cafe is small. There's three small tables with chairs inside. There's no bathroom for customers; the server recommended walking across the street to use the park's bathroom. Thankfully, they provide a tiny hand-wipe for customers to wipe their hands. Also, BB's Cafe does not offer water in a cup; if customers want water, they need to purchase a water bottle. In addition, the indoor dining area is chilly from the open door. Bring a jacket if you want to eat inside this winter. And parking is very limited. If customers can't find nearby street parking, customers must park across the street and walk over. I recommend ordering to-go. The staff is welcoming and friendly. They greet the customer as you enter and leave. Overall, BB's Cafe is a good experience. The food is fresh. It's not unique, memorable food, but it's a satisfying bite.

First time in the area and found BB's Cafe on Yelp so I had to try a Black Owned Restaurant and it did NOT disappoint. Michelle was SO KIND and knows how to hold a conversation. I learned more about her and her mom, BB. BB even greeted me. Customer service is TOP TIER!!! Now.... I had chicken and waffles. The price point is what really had me. But then the FOOD is literally chef's kiss. The chicken was fried so perfectly, golden and season so well. It was just right. The waffle is a waffle but it was GOOD. I really wanted the 5 piece chicken and to order Mac and cheese until I was saddened to hear there was no more Mac and cheese. I also went an hour prior to them closing. But I originally did go for chicken and waffles and I was satisfied. It is a small location and have about 3 tables that sit 4. I found a parking spot right in front of the restaurant so I was content but there are a lot of open spots. It is a great location and perfect for a nice to go order. I can't wait to come back because Michelle made me feel like family and BB's food is to brag about. I can't wait to try more if I am in the area again.

This tiny store front is really intended to be a pick up location rather than a sit down restaurant. There is some seating, but only for a maximum of 12 inside. Their specialty is their fried chicken and waffles. I loved their chicken, with its very southern, deliciously seasoned cornmeal crust. It made the pieces come out quite juicy and flavorful, and had a great crunch. I only wish they were full pieces, not 4 smaller but plump, wing parts. The waffle was not my favorite. I prefer a crisp crust. This one was spongy made from a relatively bland batter. But they did serve it with real butter, and butter goes a long ways to improving the shortcomings. I popped my leftovers in my toaster the next day, and that helped. I ordered an extra side of Mac & cheese (for research purposes, of course!) but it did not win my heart either. I am always on the hunt for a sharp Cheddar cheese recipe, and this tasted more creamy, like American cheese quality. I am also a big fan of a buttery baked crumb topping, but this had none. If we returned, I would most likely buy the chicken by the piece and skip the sides. Peach Cobbler, just ok. The crust was too doughy for my tastes and lacking in flavor as compared to another cobbler we had purchased that same day from a different Soul Food restaurant. The filling was also quite soupy. They also offer smoked meats which they smoke in a different location. Mr B ordered a brisket sandwich to go, which he later described as being too lean for his tastes. It had plenty of meat and was sauced up with a good tasting, sweet Bbq sauce. This came with a choice of 1 side. The employees were very sweet and attentive. And the prices were reasonable. I only saw parking on the street. Not sure if more is needed, actually, considering they are so tiny.

Admittedly, I hesitated before writing this review, but I feel it's important to share my experience. I purchased a breakfast burrito, expecting the same quality I enjoyed on a previous visit when I ordered grits. Unfortunately, this time I was very disappointed. The burrito was dry, overcooked, and tasteless, with very little cheese. It was so unappetizing that I couldn't eat it and ended up throwing it away--a complete waste of money. On a positive note, the young woman who took my order (the owner's daughter, I believe) had a warm and welcoming personality. However, unfortunately, good customer service cannot make up for food that falls this short of expectations. Based on this experience, I've decided not to ever return - simply awful !!!

What I had: - BBQ pulled pork sandwich w/collard greens, mac & cheese, and cornbread ($8.95) - Chicken and waffle ($8.95) - Fried fish (red snapper) ($10.95) - Banana pudding ($2.95) How it tasted: - The sandwich was juicy, the sandwich was sufficiently sauced, the greens were likely some of the best I've eaten, and the cornbread was moist (Yeah... I used the word). While I can't say that the mac & cheese was my favorite (grandmas can't be beat), it was still quite tasty. The chicken and waffles were also wonderful, nearly on par with Roscoe's (on it's good days). The red snapper was just like grandpa makes, which was right up my alley. Lastly, the banana pudding tasted just like grandmas and was portioned well. Why did I give it a five? - The customer service was outstanding as both the mother and daughter were satisfactorily friendly, were informative, and kept you feeling comfortable. The food was delicious, the wait was average, and the prices were fair. Verdict? - Effin' go. P.S. Thanks for taking those strawberries out of the banana pudding. read more

We kept meaning to stop by and finally did. The owner was welcoming and seemed genuinely happy to feed us. We had chicken and waffles. It was delicious, the whole thing. They're all very friendly. There's a little corner with hand painted coasters and other crafts. They even have kool-aid! You can tell they're Christians by some of the decor but it isn't all up in your face. Nice, homey atmosphere. Not a lot of seating space but it makes it even homier. Owner came to talk with us for a bit too. All around a great experience and we'll be coming back a LOT. read more

BB's Cafe is a quaint cafe with an awesome southern vibe. The outsider signage reminded me of New Orleans and was very welcoming. There is seating for about 12 people, 3 small 4 tops. It is clean and smells delicious. The daily specials are written on the chalkboard. A friendly young woman greeted us and took our order and another friendly woman said hello as she started preparing our order. We ordered breakfast burritos, chicken & waffles and peach cobbler. Everything was DELICIOUS. The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It was very flavorful with just a touch of spice. The waffles were fluffy and sweet. The bacon breakfast burritos were AMAZING. So was the salsa that came with them. The peach cobbler topped everything off so nicely. Fresh and unmistakingly homemade. Melt in your mouth crust and luscious peaches. We will absolutely be back. read more

This place is so welcoming and homey, Michelle and her mom are extraordinary. My brother and I loved being there and the food was so delicious, makes you wanna lie in bed and after such a wonderful meal. The chicken would just melt in your mouth with such juicy flavor, and the waffle was amazing all together, the bacon I had was nice and crispy :3 read more

-Came here because of all the hype I heard and saw on Yelp. So glad that my friend and I were finally able to eat here!!! We both ordered the Chicken & Waffle. It definitely did not disappoint! The waffle was thick, fluffy and NOT dry at all! It came with 1 decent size waffle, 1 drumstick, and 2 wings! The chicken was fried to perfection and was so juicy! The chicken honestly did not need any hot sauce to enjoy it because it was just that good but I love my hot sauce :) -Not only was their food amazing but their customer service was outstanding! They were extremely attentive, outgoing and welcoming. I wish I would have taken some pictures of our food before diving in but we just couldn't help it lol Welp, it just means that we will be making our way back again and again. The aroma of sweet delicious food just hits you as soon as you open the door. We ordered the chickens and waffles. The prices were extremely fair for what we got. The staff is extremely friendly. The Chicken...... crispy, crunchy, and cooked to the right where it's not rubbery and hard. This is one of the most appreciated mom and pop busisness in the community and one I will continuously look forward to supporting. And I'm coming back for that Mac and cheese! read more

If you ever stop by around Covina, I recommend you to try this place out. The fried catfish is so delicious. Crispy with perfect amount of seasoning, soooo delicious!!! Fried chicken is amazing also, even for taking it togo. The chicken was so crispy yet tender and juicy. This place is a hidden gem. Very friendly staff and they make the best food. read more

It's about time we had good soul food around here! GREENS are fire! Made with smoked turkey just like my grandmas! WAFFLE was amazing, best waffle I have had in a very long time. My daughter loved the hush puppies and the catfish. We will be back again and again. They clearly cook with love, because you can taste the joy. What is better on a Saturday afternoon than Chicken and Waffles. On a date with my wife we wanted to try something new. We were kindly greeted by the owner. This spot did not disappoint the chicken is juicy and waffle was soft and sweet. The fish was on point and Mac and cheese was amazing. I absolutely LOVE BB's CAFE! My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this hidden gem while browsing through YELP! :) First & foremost, while walking down the street towards BB's, we could already smell something GOOOOD cooking! We were greeted by the happiest cashier with her mom working in the back, and literally felt right at home! What we ordered: -Chicken & Waffles: DEFINITE WINNER! The waffles were sooooo thick and fluffy! The best part was that it was NOT dry! For 1 waffle, my boyfriend and I shared and could not even finish! The chicken came with 1 drumstick and 2 wings! The chicken was fried to perfection and was soooo juicy! The hot sauce that came with it was perfect! -Fried catfish: The catfish was surprisingly really really GOOD! The fish was sooo moist and it comes on top of this toasted bread! The meal also comes with 2 sides, so we chose collard greens and coleslaw! It was my first time having collard greens and omg I would go back just for the collard greens! I was super bummed I couldn't try their mac & cheese since they sold out by then! Today was my first time and it won't be the last. The chicken and waffle was AMAZING. It was like having my desert for breakfast!! The link breakfast burrito was just as mouthwatering. Amazing service and very welcoming. It is a cute and cozy place and it definitely felt like home and they made us feel comfortable as first timers. The food was amazing, the chicken and waffles were our absolute favorite and it is definitely something everyone should try as well as their breakfast burritos! My partner and I visited for the first time today. It is a cute store on Citrus. They were very friendly and sweet. I ordered the chicken and waffles and banana pudding. The waffles were great and the chicken was amazing. They were so crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, I was expecting the skin to fall off but if all stayed intact and made the experience of eating it even better. The banana pudding was so decadent and not too sweet which made me love it more. My partner had the bacon breakfast burrito, and he said it was so generously portioned and filling, and tasted amazing. Will come visit again soon! read more

Super surprised by the high rating. For me it was just average at most. We ordered the chicken and waffles and a pull pork sandwich with collard greens and fries. My husband said that the waffle was fresh and the chicken was any regular fried chicken. My pulled pork was super dry. The only thing that saved it from being jerky was the bbq sauce. The collard greens were flavorful and the crinkle fries were probably from a store bought frozen bag and seasoned to add the "home made" feel. We tried calling in our order. And no one picked up. It's a Saturday, so it's understandable. But the wait was ridiculous. We waited almost 45 mins for our take out order. Was looking forward to this place, but it failed in so many ways. read more

Where to start! Such an amazing cafe and restaurant. From the minute that I walked in, I already knew that I would like this place. The location is very cute and there are really nice artwork on the walls. Michelle greeted me and was so genuinely nice! I could tell that BB's cafe and Michelle herself values and prioritizes her customers. The food was amazing, I got the chicken and waffles and let me tell you! It was like none other. Everything from the taste to the texture of the waffles and the crisp from the chicken was great! I could not get over the syrup and hot sauce! They sell artwork and handmade beauty items as well which is so cool! I love supporting small businesses and mom and pop restaurants. The atmosphere and vibes were great! Bb's cafe is located right next to downtown Covina, so parking is easy and there are so many other things to do after eating. read more

Little spot tucked away next to a vintage store. Small, quaint & homey vibe when you walk in. Greeted with a warm welcome and felt like we were life long friends. Michelle was so sweet to my two boys! They devoured the Fries and my younger one enjoyed some of the Mac n cheese. I had the pulled pork sandwich. It had a great flavor and the best part it wasn't heavy. I didn't feel stuffed or greasy. I was more than satisfied with my meal! My brother loves their banana bread pudding. He got three more to go for him and his girlfriend! Definitely recommend! I'll be going back the next time I'm in the neighborhood! read more

If you're thinking of stopping by, just go!!! This place wasn't busy when we stopped by and the menu is straight forward and everything sounds appetizing. I wanted to try everything. Michelle was at the register and was amazingly helpful since it was our first time. We waited probably max 10 mins and Michelle served us our hot food at the table. First of all the food was hot and fresh every bite. I got the chicken and waffle plate and the chicken was very crispy and juicy. The waffle was perfectly fluffy and the combo was spot on. My partner got the chicken wings with fries and Mac and cheese which was all delicious. We were literally in heaven eating up everything. And get the lemonade. It's the best!!! read more

We arrived there yesterday at 1:40pm and the doors were locked with a couple of customers eating inside. The posted business hours on the door was from 9am - 2pm. A woman from the back, who saw me standing outside, came and unlocked the door saying, "We closed early. We have something that we have to do, but we'll be open at 9am tomorrow." I told her that I was not from that area and still no empathy - no "I'm sorry." Unless you have a family emergency going on, that is very unacceptable. Of course, you didn't have an emergency going on because 1) there were customers eating inside, 2) you would have mentioned that initially, and 3) I would have saw a look of distress on your face. You're a business, so I expect you to be open your posted business hours. If not, then that's very unprofessional and it leaves a bad impression. read more

The oxtails were actually pretty good, but the mac and cheese wasn't for me (I don't usually like mac and cheese). The collard greens were just okay. The wait time was about 25-30 minutes, which they did mention ahead of time. One thing to note is that when we went, it was cash only because the card machine wasn't working. They accepted Zelle, but it would be helpful to have a sign posted. The place is small, but the customer service was great. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, and the staff overall seemed on point. Overall, the food was decent, but nothing that would make me come back.

BB's Cafe's slogan should be "come hungry, and leave as family". My Family and my self (group of 10) are staying near by on vacation, and were looking for a place for breakfast. A quick google search lead us to BB's, and it did not disappoint! It's has a small seating area, and a simple menu. All the food was cooked by Mom and everything was amazing, and delicious. This is probably my favorite place in OC. If you're going to splurge, this is the right place. It is located in a plaza and they have so many different kinds of brwakfast which in my opinion are the best in town.
