The Fountain gallery is an asset to Bridge Road. We need somewhere like this. Although it is a…read moresmall shop it is amazingly effective. The premise is that it is a cooperative art gallery. It is collectively run by 18 artists who showcase their work here on alternate times. The Fountain Gallery also have guest artists. Usually each artist is allocated a certain period of time in which to showcase their work. I believe that the times are not fixed. Most artists seem to take it over for about a month. During this time they oversee the gallery, so customers can come and talk to the artists about their work. The art comes in a mixture of forms. Generally it is painted work, most in watercolours, sometimes there are photographers who exhibit their work. Occasionally there are potters. Although the gallery closes at 6, I have often walked past and seen open evenings, it is worth phoning ahead to find out what is on.

If you're a fan of accessible art and like making new discoveries this is a lovely little gallery…read morethat warrants a regular visit. It's a co-operative of many artists so the exhibitions change frequently and, as a bonus, are run by the artists themselves. Come here to enjoy the art in relaxing surroundings, perhaps with a glass of wine to enhance your pleasure. Talk to the artist and buy anything from a postcard to a limited-edition print or even a full-blown oil painting or sculpture. If you want to turn yourself into a work of art you can sometimes buy, or commission, a pretty piece of original jewellery too.

As a small gallery it is somewhat overlooked, but the fact that it is less crowded means you really can enjoy the work without distraction. It is home to the the Zabludowicz Collection, which focuses on contemporary art from the late 20th and 21st centuries; and the emphasis here is on exhibitions that work with the chapel space itself. Currently you can go to see Ken Wilder's 'Framing Spectatorship' - sculptural installations that reference Renaissance paintings establishing concrete ties to their location. Although entry to the gallery is free, the £5 annual membership is donated towards the interaction programme and provides discounts for the bookshop and invitation to private events. There's a wonderful cafe serving sandwiches (£2.15 - £3.50) and hot drinks up to £2.

They have all sorts of art work from such artists as Kerry Darlington whos work I love (first award winning resin artist). Jake and co can also arrange to have home visits if you would like to see the piece of art you are interested in looks like in your home. I visited this gallery to have a look at the Yayoi Kusama exhibition which is running until the…read more30th July. I arrived shortly before 10am (opening time) to be greeted with a long queue outside. Thankfully the line moved pretty quickly and I was soon inside. The staff did say that the exhibition is extremely popular on Saturdays so it is probably advisable to get there as close to opening time as possible. As the exhibition contains several mirrored rooms, which visitors can go in individually or in small groups, you do end up queueing again to get into each one, although the staff are very helpful and good at limiting the time to keeping things moving (you get 20 seconds in the pumpkin room and a minute in the others). The art itself is very cool, the mirrored rooms are excellent and each provides a very different experience (and some great photo opportunities!) The garden is really relaxing with a big pond containing another installation. If you do visit, make sure you go and have a look at the paintings and also the Rana Begum 'The Space Between' exhibition which is equally beautiful. I really enjoyed this gallery and exhibition and will definitely be keeping an eye on the listings for future exhibitions at Victoria Miro Gallery.

This shop has a pin-up girl silk scarf for 70.00. It has these tastefully topless girls on playing…read morecards. I would have bought it were it not for the price. Lord knows. The modern art in this shop is also really appealing. I liked this one vase that was white and looked like an old ladies hat where you stick the flowers in little pots. I think this shop makes affordable art but I can afford nothing except a crap poster from Woolworths in the closing down sale. It was Little Britain but you know, the budget is just "so high class".

I picked up one of Hoxton artist Jon Carmichael's dog prints there, as well as an ultraviolet photo of Ealing's Walpole Park from Alex Arnaoudov. We've had a couple of custom frames made here, and they came out very nicely. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

The next open weekend is actually next week, on Saturday the 5th and Sunday 6th July so I timed this review well, didn't I?! The building itself is fabulously preserved and none of the studios are empty. I can imagine it is a great place to work. I understand that they have recently enlarged the space to include more studios so there will be even more stuff to look at. I don't have a lot of disposable income but even I have found some gorgeous things to buy here, including pottery and jewellery. The artists very kindly put out nibbles so you can stuff yourself while you're looking at their work.
