Called first for a battery replacement they said it's $27. Ended up charged for $45. The battery lasted about 9 months and they replaced it. So I asked if they will warranty the newly installed battery and they refuse to stand behind their installation for the 2nd battery, even though the first did not live for 12 months. I told a fellow walk in customer and lost both of us for life. When your car battery dies within the warranty years do you receive a new warranty or only the original year of that car? The level of customer service interaction is very poor. One of the staff, when asked about watch straps, immediately jumped to saying, "I'll need to see your watch to get the right size." If I already know what size my watch is, I don't need to show anything. It took some convincing, but I managed to get him to show me what they had in stock. As he brings the straps from the back of the store, he tells me, "Just go on Amazon. There's straps on there in many colors." I'm literally just curious what his stock was like and want to take a look while I'm at the mall. Updated review 2.22.2025 So at this point, we are considering this matter settled enough for us to be content. After reaching out to us, Sal had us bring our rings back in and give them another chance to fix these. I must admit, the rings look amazing this time, even if still not completely on point. I think for the life of them they do not understand what I mean when I explain that the details did not return, but by now they've altered the ring enough for us to say 'good enough' and dare not ask them to do more. They DID fix the stones and they look amazing. They added some sort of black material? coating over the ring for -some- reason, but it looks pretty awesome tbh so we are not fussing. When we said details, we meant that the sides where the detail had worn down, we kept asking for them to clean those details back up again and I don't think they understand in the slightest what we were saying, because those still are not fixed but at this point, we're satisfied enough. They re-inscribed the inside of mine, albeit mismatched and rough. There are rogue scratches from doing the etching and a smidge of the black coating is rogue on the band (like it was dropped and cleaned away?). In the end, I wish we had gone -anywhere- else. But at least they mostly made it right, free of charge. read more

I purchased a watch band a little over a month ago from Bayside Watch Repair in the Meadows Mall. The band broke today. I went back to the business,Bayside Watch Repair, and was told that they would not replace it for free, but I  could purchase a replacement for half of what they purchase their watch bands for. I refused. The band was surely poor quality if it only lasted 5 weeks and I didn't even wear it daily. I later went to a well established jeweler in the city, and he looked at the watch band stating that the back of the watch band was cardboard and was definitely poor quality. I took a chance despite the negative reviews and paid $68 for this clock repair. After I mentioned something was on the inside surface and got pushback, I left figuring what I'd read was right on the mark. Later at home I also realized it was also reassembled wrong. I took the attached picture at 4 minutes before 2 o'clock. Does that look like 4 minutes before 2? Rather than experience more BS, I took it to Quick Repair Jewelry and got it fixed for $25. Upshot? The only reason o give them any stars at all is because I sometimes like looking at their overpriced. Watches when I'm in the mall; however, their prices are unreasonably overpriced. The same is true for battery replacement on any basic watch as well. For instance they actually think they can sell a $50.00 or less seiko 5 for $1.75.00. I have gone in here twice for repairs. First we went in for my husbands watch which is a bit more expensive brand, we were charged $27 for a new battery, watch was repaired within a few minutes no issues. Then I came back for my watch which is average brand, we were charged $21 for a new battery, watch was repaired in a few minutes no issues. Customer service was great both times and we had two different gentlemen. I don't really know if batteries for watches are the same or change with the brand, four stars as I feel it should be one flat rate for a battery repair and not change depending on how expensive the watch is. However, I will be returning for future repairs service was great and price was affordable. read more

This may be the worst retail experience I ever had. I went to Bayside Watch to buy a pricey pendulum wall clock. I was prepared to shell out the bucks, but the worker told me the only clocks they carry are the actual displays on the wall - they don't keep a stock of unopened, boxed clocks. Fine. I told him I'd be happy to take the display. However, all the prices are marked on the clocks with VERY sticky stickers. I noticed this right away, but I hoped that they had a plan for how to take OFF the very sticky sticker. The worker proceeded to grab a random box from the back, then came back out to box up my clock. Before he put it in the box, he tried to take off the very sticky sticker. My head was kind of turned, but I noticed right away out of the corner of my eye that the sticker came off and took a bunch of the finish with it. I was told it was a solid wood clock... so why was it OBVIOUSLY a wood-paneled plastic clock? Worst of all, the guy assumed I didn't noticed and proceeded to quickly shove it in the box, pretending that he didn't do anything wrong. The man continued to program the price into the register, looking all flustered and nervous. I said, "uh, yeah, I noticed that." He responded by saying, "oh, uh, yeah, well, hmmm, I can give you 20% off." I responded by promptly walking out of the store and taking my money elsewhere. What is most disturbing is that they have a no-refund policy. I could have been swindled by this guy if my head was just SLIGHTLY more turned and not have been able to do a thing about it. Worse yet, I was planning on leaving the clock in the box until I move in a couple of months... imagine my surprise if I moved out of town, only to open up my precious clock box and find a defective product. Dishonesty is a huge pet peeve of mine. Stay away from this place. read more

Last week, I brought my gold bracelet (10 years old) in to have the lobster claw replaced. I told the man that the bracelet keeps falling off. He told me that there was nothing with the lobster claw and charged me $45 to solder the clasp. The bracelet fell off again today and as of yet, I am unable to find it. Took my watch in for repair to the second hand. It was stuck, but it was keeping time. First they said it would cost $35.00. Two days later they said it would cost $165.00. I said no thanks and went to pick up my watch. When I picked it up, the second hand was working, but nothing else was. They said they had too take it apart and now it doesn't keep time. In my one experience here: shop here with caution. I bought a Luminox watch here and it was working fine when purchased. I didn't wear it until the next day. Within hours it stopped working. I brought it back, and expecting a new watch or a refund in exchange, the salesman checked the battery, etc. proclaimed it working and sent me on my way. A brand new watch shouldn't have to be opened for any reason, mind you. A day later, it stopped working again. I brought it back. Refund? No. New replacement? No. Bear in mind, this was for obviously a defect or some type of existing problem, and therefore the store should replace or refund the watch, not the manufacturer, and it's not my fault the store does not keep more than one of the models in question in stock, and in this case should (must) refund the watch. Did they? Of course not. You would have thought I asked for a toilet made of solid gold. They sent it off to Luminox. They gave me a replacement (a digital sports watch) to use in the meantime. It stopped working the next day. I just got my watch back... nearly 4 weeks after purchasing it, and 3 weeks after they sent it away. It is purportedly a new watch. My experience with this store was terrible. I give it two stars instead of one because, this was my experience and they can't be selling all broken watches, right? If they are, or you have a problem, plan on waiting 4 weeks from date of purchase to wear your watch. read more

I have taken many watches to this location just for battery replacement & never had issues. Last Friday, I took my Juicy Couture watch to them & was quoted $15.00 bucks to do the battery. However, once they saw it was a Juicy watch they then said it would be 20 bucks because they have to 'seal" the back of the watch after replacing the battery. What should that matter? Of course I paid it because I love & missed wearing my special watch. Imagine my surprise when I got home & realized they gave me a very dead battery. Now its back to the mall for me tonight to have them replace the battery with a working one. I think the prices for a battery replacement are outrageous.
